I’ve been testing out peels and seeing which ones work for me. The last one I talked about was The Ordinary AHA 30% BHA 2% Peeling Solution. I thought I was going to keep using it, but I decided to stop using it after thinking if I should or should not. It didn’t do much for my skin last year and the year before. I don’t think it’ll do anything for me now. So I decided to stop using it. I didn’t want to waste my time on it…

I finally recieved my new facial peel. It’s QRxLabs Lactic Acid 50% Gel Peel. My first experience with this peel was pretty good. Application was really easy. Apply the peel on the skin for 1-3 minutes. Neutralize it afterwards. There are warning signs everywhere on this product. Do a patch test. If you have sensitive skin, don’t leave it on for too long or use a product with a lower percentage (more mild exfoliant). I don’t have sensitive skin. I left the product on for 3 minutes then neutralized it afterwards. I felt a tingling sensation during those 3 minutes. After I rinsed it off, I noticed that my cheeks and chin area were pinkish. It looked like the product dried up some pimples. I followed up with a gentle skin care routine. Just moisturized. Nothing harsh.

After the first day…

Clogged pores had flakes around them. Acne came to the surface. My skin was loosening. I didn’t remove them. I just left them alone. A few more days in, the dead skin naturally came off of my face. Some were hanging from my face. At this point, I had to remove them. My skin wasn’t that sensitive anymore. The pinkish skin faded. It went back to its normal state. So I used a konjac sponge (Purito Jeju Volcanic Scoria Konjac Sponge) to remove the dead skin. This sponge is very gentle and did the job. My skin looked smoother and more radiant! I went through the rest of the week purging. Pimples that have been living underneath the surface of my skin moved up to the surface.

It took my skin about a few days to heal from the peel, but I allowed my skin to heal for a whole week. I’m planning on doing this peel once a week. I’m really excited for this. I saw results during the first week! I hope to continue to see improvements! I’ve been battling closed comedones for ages! I’m crossing my fingers that this will help get rid of them. 🤞🏻😊
