Hello Activated Charcoal Toothpaste
hello Activated Charcoal Toothpaste

I’ve been using hello Activated Charcoal Toothpaste for over a month. Before I review it, here’s some information on it.

This charcoal toothpaste works the same as another charcoal toothpaste I used before — Cali White Activated Charcoal & Coconut Oil Toothpaste — in terms of whitening. hello Activated Charcoal Toothpaste ($5) is half the price of Cali White ($10). They are both 4 oz. Let’s compare the ingredients in each one.

hello Activated Charcoal Toothpaste:

Sorbitol (Humectant), Hydrated Silica (Polishes And Cleans Teeth), Vegetable Glycerin (Soothes And Moisturizes), Xylitol (Sweetener), Purified Water, Charcoal Powder (Whitens, Polishes And Cleans Teeth/Freshens Breath), Flavor (Freshens Breath), Xanthan Gum (Thickener), Titanium Dioxide (Mineral), Cocamidopropyl Betaine (Cleanser), Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate (Cleanser), Coconut Oil (Soothes And Moisturizes), Potassium Sorbate (Maintains Stability) And Stevia Rebaudiana Leaf Extract* (Sweetener).

Cali White Activated Charcoal & Coconut Oil Toothpaste:

Purified Water (Distilled Water), Xylitol, Diatomite Diatomaceous Earth, Baking Soda, Activated Charcoal, Tea Tree Oil, Organic Coconut Oil, Xanthan Gum, Citric Acid, Peppermint Oil, Natural Flavors.

Cali White has a shorter ingredient list, but (this is just me) I don’t care. As I said before, they both gave the same results. The hello brand is thicker in consistency and feels more like an actual toothpaste. From what I remember, Cali White fully dissolved due to the fact that it doesn’t contain any foaming agents. Between the two, if I were to pick one to try again, I would choose hello Activated Charcoal Toothpaste. I can’t justify paying $10 for a charcoal toothpaste if the results are identical from my own experience. With both charcoal toothpastes, the whitening effects isn’t that noticeable. That’s why I will not purchase either one again. I want a toothpaste that shows results. I want visible teeth whitening effects. The only time my teeth looked visibly whiter was when I used this.

Yep, it worked. Unfortunately, the effects only lasted a few months, which isn’t bad. I enjoyed it while it lasted.

Have you used a charcoal-based toothpaste before? Did it work for you?

Shopping Haul: Derma E, Maui, hello

Comment

I purchased some beauty products on a whim about last week. I’ve been using them, but I’m not going to review them yet. Here’s a list of what I bought. 🙂

And why?

Derma E Vitamin C Micellar Cleansing Water Probiotics & Roobios:

I’m addicted to Derma E skin care products right now. Other products I’m using are…

Yeah, you’ve got the gist. I haven’t gotten around to reviewing most of these products. I’ve only reviewed ONE so far, haha. So this is my first time using a micellar water product. I’ve heard of it before, but I was never a fan of toners, and they look very similar to facial toners. I’ve been wandering around looking to see what I can do for my skin. I decided to try it out.

But first, what is micellar water? What does it do? Micellar water is also known as cleansing water (as the name of the product states). Micellar water or cleansing water contains tiny balls called micelles that attracts dirt, debris, and oil. All of that gunk gets removed from the face without using a face wash. You don’t have to rinse micellar water off. It also protects the skin’s natural barrier.

I picked Derma E because it is vegan, cruelty-free, and contains Vitamin C.

Maui Moisture Detoxifying + Volcanic Ash Shampoo for Dull, Congested Hair:

I was in need of a shampoo. I’ve seen Maui at the store plenty of times, but I never thought about it. With hair care products, I can easily jump around without doing much damage. Unless it’s a horrible product, haha. Here’s to my new shampoo! heh.

hello Activated Charcoal Fluoride Toothpaste:

I love charcoal-based products. I used another charcoal toothpaste before.

My Review on Cali White Activated Charcoal & Coconut Oil Toothpaste
My Review on Cali White Activated Charcoal & Coconut Oil Toothpaste

It’s been a month of using Cali White Activated Charcoal & Coconut Oil Toothpaste. I can’t believe it’s been that long. If you missed out, check out my first time using this tooth paste here. For more information on it, go here. Cali White Activated Charcoal & Coconut Oil Toothpaste isn’t your traditional toothpaste. When the product is dispensed from the tube, it may appear like one. The product comes out as a black paste. It is charcoal after all. It doesn’t foam up like a traditional toothpaste. Don’t expect it to. The paste turns into a liquid while brushing. I had to hover over the sink to prevent the liquid from dripping on other surfaces, which became quite an annoyance over time. I must say that it is less messy compared to the charcoal teeth whitening powders I have used before.

Cali White Activated Charcoal & Coconut Oil Toothpaste only lasted a month for me. I brush after meals when I can. I try my best to brush after I consume acidic foods. I seriously dislike how my teeth feels after eating fruit. ? With this toothpaste, in the beginning, it was difficult for me to tell if it was working or not. I decided to keep using it anyways until I finished the whole tube. After a month of use, I would love to say that it works to whiten my teeth. Unfortunately, the effects weren’t on par with the charcoal teeth whitening powders. Even though the charcoal teeth whitening powders are messier, the results were better. I noticed a brighter smile in a shorter period of time. Also, the powders lasted much longer too.

The toothpaste isn’t all too bad. It contains beneficial ingredients for the teeth, such as Xylitol, Diatomite Diatomaceous, Baking Soda, Activated Charcoal, Tea Tree Oil, Peppermint Oil, and Organic Coconut Oil. I really like the ingredients. They look pretty natural. I love how it cleans my mouth and freshens my breath. The convenience is very nice. But, there’s a price to pay. It’s much more expensive compared to a small jar of charcoal teeth whitening powder. Once again, it only lasted for a month. Imagine purchasing it every month! For a product that didn’t give me the results I truly wanted, I will not purchase it again. It was nice to try it out, but I think I’m going to look for another charcoal teeth whitening powder to test out instead.

Pro Teeth Whitening Co. Activated Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powder

Pro Teeth Whitening Co. Activated Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powder

Here’s my review on Pro Teeth Whitening Co. Activated Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powder! It’s about time! ? The first one I used was BeLive Activated Coco Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powder. I used it for about 5 months. The reason why I stopped using it is because the results didn’t stick. Also, it was a messy product to use on a daily basis. It didn’t freshen up my breath either. It was a nice product to try out, but I wanted more out of my teeth whitening powder. That is why I decided to move on to Pro Teeth Whitening Co. Activated Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powder.

Pro Teeth Whitening Co. Activated Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powder:

Directions:

  1. Put a pinch of powder in the palm of your hand.
  2. Dip a wet toothbrush into powder.
  3. Brush teeth for one to two minutes.
  4. Rinse.
  5. Brush again with water to remove residue.
  6. Use twice daily for best results.
  7. Avoid brushing over gums or brushing for longer periods of two minutes (may cause irritation).
  8. Use within 12 months of opening.

Ingredients: Bentonite Clay, Calcium Carbonate, Activated Charcoal (Cocos Nucifera Shell Powder), Flavouring (Mint), Peppermint(Mentha piperita), Sodium Chloride, Ginger Root Extract (Zingiber officinale).

The Pro Teeth Whitening Co. Activated Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powder comes in a tiny jar with a net wt. of 2 oz (57 g). I must repeat, it is very tiny. The powder isn’t black. It’s gray in color. Since it’s not a black charcoal powder, it didn’t stain my bathroom sink. It didn’t leave stains between my teeth. That’s awesome! On a daily basis, it was much easier to use compared to the BeLive product. This made my life less complicated, and I really liked that aspect of it. Pro Teeth Whitening Co. also freshened my breath. It contains mint and peppermint in their powder. BeLive states that it is mint flavored, but the only ingredient is 100% Organic Coconut Charcoal made from Coconut Shells. Interesting. By the way, as I mentioned earlier, BeLive wasn’t a good breath freshener.

Just like the other charcoal teeth whitening powder, it worked. My teeth looked more white and brighter with consistent use. With the Pro Teeth Whitening Co., the results were more apparent in a shorter period of time. Good news, the results didn’t fade quick. Love! The only downside to this powder is that the texture is on the gritty side. The gritty texture made it difficult to stay put on my toothbrush. It would fall off in chunks. Be aware of that. Between BeLive and Pro Teeth Whitening Co., I’m in favor of the second charcoal teeth whitening powder. It may not be the best, but it is better than the one I used before. If you’re in search of a charcoal teeth whitening powder, this one is nice to try out. As of now, I’m still using Cali White Activated Charcoal & Coconut Oil Toothpaste. Read more about it here:

BeLive Activated Coco Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powder

BeLive Activated Coco Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powder

Here’s my review on one of the charcoal teeth whitening powders I used before. It’s called BeLive Activated Coco Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powder. This was the very first one I used. The reason why I started using a charcoal teeth whitening powder is because Crest White Strips made my teeth ultra sensitive. Even when I used one single strip in a day, the sensitivity wasn’t worth it in the end. I decided to find something else that would whiten my teeth while being gentle in the long run. One day, I found BeLive Activated Coco Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powder. Here’s more information on this charcoal teeth whitening powder before we begin.

BeLive Activated Coco Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powder:

BeLive Activated Coco Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powder, Directions & Ingredients

BeLive Activated Coco Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powder, Directions & Ingredients

Directions:

  1. Wet the toothbrush and dip the brush into the jar.
  2. Gently brush for 3-5 minutes.
  3. Rinse your mouth well and make sure to brush your tongue to get rid of excess residue.

Ingredients: 100% Organic Coconut Charcoal made from Coconut Shells.

I used BeLive Activated Coco Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powder for 5 months. I used it twice a day, morning and night. After the first week of use, I noticed that my teeth looked noticeably whiter and brighter. After 2 months of use, the results were more apparent. I could see a big difference. My teeth looked pearly white! Helloooo white teeth!! After 5 months of consistently using BeLive Activated Coco Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powder, the results kept coming. My teeth became even whiter and brighter! This stuff was working for me. I was happy! ?

With this particular teeth whitening product, you need to use it every single day to maintain results. I stopped using it for a week, and the results started to fade quick. I would think that the results would at least stick just for a week (when I’m not using it), but it didn’t. That’s one huge drawback with this product. That’s why I moved on to another charcoal teeth whitening powder — Pro Teeth Whitening Co. Activated Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powder. I will review this one soon.

BeLive Activated Coco Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powder is very easy to use but can be very messy. It leaves stains between teeth if not rinsed thoroughly. Make sure to rinse, rinse, and rinse some more! Be very careful when using, this powder stains bathroom sinks, countertops, towels, and clothing. It says it’s a mint flavor, but it’s barely there. Light and subtle. Don’t expect it to freshen your breath. It won’t. This one was nice to try out, but I’ve moved on to other teeth whitening products. I wanted something less messy for everyday use and results that would stay for at least 1 week when I’m not using it. Life happens, I want my smile to look bright and beautiful during a short downtime. If you’re wondering, the 2 free charcoal strips included are pretty useless.
