Day 1: BHA & BP

Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid

I’m ending my BHA journey. I’ve been on it for 5 weeks (almost 6 weeks). I don’t think it’s going to be the magical product that’s going to keep my skin clear from looking at the results. It has helped my skin, but it’s not up there with BP. So I decide to add a leave-on BP product into my routine. The first night using BP and nothing else on my face at night, except for some eye creams to keep that sensitive area of my face moisturized…my skin looked and felt good the next morning. My pores were less visible. Breakouts moved up to the surface. They’re less noticeable. And it looks like they are healing much better with BP vs BHA. Large cysts reduced in size greatly. My skin just looks so much better and cleaner!

I’m going to use PanOxyl 4% and 10% face washes. The 10% leaves my skin a little dry at times. When my skin gets dry, I switch over to the 4%. I’m going to use a combination of those two products. With BHA, I’m only using it in the morning while I use BP at night. I don’t like using BP in the morning, since I need to pile that stuff on. I’ll deal with the acne scars later. I just have to get the acne under control first.

I’m having trouble finding a good sunblock for my skin. I know I’m going to need it. I’m going to stick to Coppertone Defend & Care Clear Zinc 50, since it doesn’t break me out (as of yet). I’ll keep an eye on it. Compared to other sunblocks I have, this one is the best so far. I’m still searching for a better sunblock in the meantime…

Here are some products I removed. Yep! More products! Trying to keep my skin care routine simple. 👍🏻

Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence: I’ve had this for over half a year. I still have enough product left for the rest of the year. I don’t think this essence is suitable for my skin. It’s sticky. Since I still have some leftover comedones, I think it’s time to eliminate this product. It could be a suspect. I traded it in for Cosrx Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence. <<< new review coming up!!

Benton Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel: A gel that feels moisturizing at first and eventually absorbs into the skin. Doesn’t leave the skin feeling hydrated in the long run. I really don’t need this product. My skin is doing well without it.

That’s an update on what’s going on. I’ll make an update next week! 🙂
