Final Review: Andalou Naturals Vitamin C Beauty Balm

This is my last review on Andalou Naturals Vitamin C Beauty Balm. I finished 1 tube, and I have another full tube. Should I have purchased it? Probably not. Oh well, lol. I mean, it’s not entirely a bad product. It’s just not for me. Here’s my experience with this beauty balm.
Love that it’s a brightening BB Cream. Love that it contains Vitamin C. Love that it’s zinc based. I love the idea behind it. BUT, it did not work out for me in the end. If you’re looking for BB Cream with some coverage, this isn’t it. There is no coverage with this BB Cream. It’s just a moisturizer even though it’s labeled as ‘sheer tint’. The tint doesn’t exist at all when applied to the skin (it cannot be seen, no sheer coverage either). It’s pretty useless. I would rather have this BB Cream untinted and just call it a moisturizer because that’s what it is — a moisturizer. I’ve inspected the color of the tint when dispensed from the tube. It’s orange. =/ Just putting that out there. Even if the shade of the tint doesn’t provide any coverage, the thought of having an orange shade makeup product on my face makes me cringe. Why bother? Find something else that’s not orange and matches your skin.
The texture of the BB Cream is soft. Feels like a lightweight lotion. It goes on the skin easily and blends into the skin well. It leaves the skin feeling soft and moisturized. Since it’s so slippery (contains dimethicone), it doesn’t cling to the skin well. It comes right off. The lasting power is very, very poor. I had to reapply this BB Cream multiple times throughout the day because I can see that the application has completely washed away. I generally have oily skin unless I’m using skin care products that dry my skin out or if it’s winter. This BB Cream works better on dry skin, terrible on oily skin.
Overall, I’m just going to say that this would make a good SPF moisturizer if it wasn’t so slippery. As a BB Cream, skip it. Sometimes, depending on the formula, my skin has issues with silicones too. This one didn’t click with my skin. There are better BB Creams out there. I won’t purchase it again.
