Healthy Green Smoothie for Clear Skin

I’m on my second week of the Whole Foods Diet. I’m doing the best I can to stick to it. It hasn’t been perfect, but I’m learning from my mistakes instead of dwelling on it. This week is going to be a better week. Today, I decided to dedicate myself to making healthy green smoothies. I’ve done green smoothies before in the past and have had awesome results from it! It lessened my acne problems and made my complexion brighter, more healthy-looking! I received lots of questions and compliments on how I achieved a glowing, brighter, acne-free complexion! So, I decided to embark on this journey once again. Why? I noticed that I haven’t been eating as much vegetables and fruits like I once did. Making healthy green smoothies would definitely motivate me to add more rich greens and fruits into my diet. Also, I hope it motivates others to do the same as well! We need to eat our vegetables and fruits to maintain optimal health!
How I made my Healthy Green Smoothie for Clear Skin:
I came up with this Healthy Green Smoothie for Clear Skin right from my fridge. All I had were almond milk, container of mixed greens, a bunch of limes, bananas, and cucumbers.
I used almond milk. You can use any type of plant-based milk you want. Other options include coconut milk and soy milk. Almond milk is just so very convenient on a daily basis. The mixed greens I used consists of baby spinach, baby greens, baby lettuce, and radicchio. I used sliced organic cucumbers that were homegrown and picked straight from the garden. I didn’t peel the skin off. I made sure I thoroughly rinsed it before the blend. That extra fiber is good for digestive health. A single lime to add a citrus zest to the smoothie. I usually purchase limes over lemons because they are less expensive. On some occasions, I purchase lemons if my recipe calls for it. The sweetness of a lime and lemon are totally unique and different. Lime is more bitter in comparison to a lemon. For everyday use, lime fits into the budget. Bananas are always a great healthy choice to add to smoothies. They make an awesome natural sweetener and are affordable. Lastly, I sprinkled the Healthy Green Smoothie for Clear Skin with Hemp Seeds. Hemp Seeds are my absolute favorite! You will see why below. 🙂
This Healthy Green Smoothie for Clear Skin is loaded with healthy nutrients. Almond milk provides a dose of Vitamin A, Calcium, Vitamin D, Phosphorous, Copper, Iron, and Vitamin E. The mixed greens I used contains lots of Vitamin A and Vitamin K, but also Calcium, Vitamin C, Iron, Manganese, and Folate. Cucumbers has many essential vitamins and minerals, such as Potassium and Vitamin C. Limes are a good source of Vitamin C. Bananas, of course, are high in Potassium, but also Magnesium and Folate. Hemp Seeds are high in omega-3 fatty acids and a great source of plant-based protein. They provide an abundant of nutrients like Calcium, Thiamin, Vitamin B6, Iron, Riboflavin, Folate, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Zinc, and Manganese. Vegetables and fruits are high in fiber and low in calories. A perfect way to lose weight and keep your belly flat! Plus, giving your skin the vitamins and minerals it needs!
