Hey guys! I’m loving pea protein powders. Pea protein is an awesome protein supplement for vegans. It provides all essential amino acids to build muscle. Cool, right? Why use milk-based protein supplements that will give you digestive distress and acne? Why not choose something more natural and better for you? Pea protein is a smart choice! I LOVE PEA PROTEIN POWDER!! ❤ I enjoy adding it to my post-workout green protein smoothies. Also, as a healthy protein shake for breakfast or even lunch! It’s perfect! I love it! My Trader Joe’s Organic Pea Protein Powder in Vanilla!
Here’s the container of Trader Joe’s Organic Pea Protein Powder Vanilla. It looks identical to the Unsweetened, except it’s in a different color and vanilla flavored. 🙂

What Trader Joe’s Organic Pea Protein Powder Vanilla looks like. It’s a tad more yellow in color compared to the Unsweetened. 😋
When I opened Trader Joe’s Organic Pea Protein Powder Vanilla, I had to sniff it first. There’s a hint of vanilla to this protein powder like it’s supposed to. The protein powder feels soft, smooth like the Unsweetened. It is finely milled and very nice. The quality is definitely up there. I’m very happy about that. As for the taste, the vanilla flavor is subtle and not overpowering. It’s not sweet whatsoever. I tried mixing it in my green protein smoothie without fruit. I can somewhat taste the vanilla but not by much. Just a tad. I can easily say that it’s barely there. Next, I tried mixing it with fruit. It brought out the vanilla flavor a lot more. Still, it’s not overwhelming at all. With the Vanilla, the aftertaste of pea protein is less prevalent.
So far, I think it’s a good pea protein powder. Keep in mind, it does contain added sugars from Coconut Palm Sugar and Other Natural Flavor. The question is, “Is it necessary to have those ingredients in a daily protein supplement?” I mean, I can barely taste the flavor when I mix it into my green protein smoothie. So, I’m not sure if the Vanilla is right for my lifestyle. I’m fine with using the Unsweetened as long as it works and does the job. That’s something to think about. I could easily shave off 30 calories plus extra ingredients by using the Unsweetened. I think they’re both good pea protein powders. It’s what YOU want in your protein supplement. Me, I think the Unsweetened works just fine. I prefer my protein supplements basic and plain anyways. I can deal with the pea protein aftertaste on a daily basis. It doesn’t bother me much.
