My Tretinoin Journey: 3 Weeks Results

3 weeks 🙂
Day 15: 1 clogged pore moved to the surface. Other than that, skin looks good. Parts of my face feels itchy. I try my best to not itch it. My skin texture looks soo dewy and smooth. I’m so close to having my skin back before it started to breakout. 🙂
Day 16: My skin cleared up! Anddddd a red spot popped up out of nowhere over night. The good thing is that it is not noticeable. I’m sure it will disappear in 1-2 days. I’m still dealing with itchy skin, so that hasn’t gone away yet. Trying not to claw off my face. :/ Parts of my face feels very sensitive.
Last night, my skin felt so wet and oily. I thought I was going to have a major acne breakout!!! Thankfully, I did not. BUT WOW! My complexion looks soooo freaking nice!!! The change is SOOOO DRAMATIC!!! It’s like day and night. 😲 I’m so impressed with this cream. I’ve been asked what I’ve been doing to my skin too. This was just what I needed after going through the grueling months with BP. 🙂 🙂 🙂 I really do think my skin will be over 100% clear in 1 month. Keep in mind that my acne wasn’t too bad. I had a few congested pores that wouldn’t budge with other treatments. As I said before, Tret has boosted the effectiveness of the actives in my skin care routine.
Today, I decided to add Cos De BAHA AHA Serum into my skin care routine again…
Day 17: Instead of using Cos De BAHA AHA Serum, I’m going to use Alpha Skin Care AHA Serum. The latter feels less heavy and sticky on the skin. More lightweight and absorbs so much better into the skin. After using it this morning, my skin began to peel (just like I wanted it to). That means new breakouts. Seems like the Tretinoin + AHA combo is working for me. Tretinoin helps the AHA penetrate into the skin better. My skin is peeling after each time I use AHA. I’ll keep using it. I’m back to using it every morning + tons of SPF!
Day 18: Skin looks good today. The AHA is really pushing everything to the surface. Luckily for me, it’s just tiny pimples that will go away in a few days. I also tried Skin79 Beblesh Balm (Green) again. That caused a few breakouts too. I have hope that it will all clear up soon, and my skin will return to its previous state. I’ll just stick to what works, which is my Dr Jart+. I’m happy that it contains SPF. 🙂
Day 19: Today is the day that I’m going to take a short break from Tret. I will be alternating between Tret and BP. I’m adding BP back in. 🙂 There you go, my new bottles of BP will not go to waste after all! The reason why I’m going on a mini break is because my skin is literally on fire. The itch is getting worse. IS THIS THE ACTUAL PURGE???!! I noticed a few more breakouts too. Like, wow, I thought it was over, but I guess not??!!! 😲😲 There goes my hope for fully clear skin in 1 month. I guess I’ll have to wait it out for the whole 3+ months for full results.
This is quite frustrating. :/
Day 20: I woke up this morning with skin that’s less red, swollen, and itchy. The BP actually calmed my skin down and helped kill some active zits. It also helped bring congested pimples to the surface. I’ll restart Tretinoin after I finish up Week 3. Give my skin a break. Also, I started to use Andalou Naturals Vitamin C BB Cream again. My skin didn’t get itchy after using it once again. I guess that wasn’t the cause of my itchy skin. Same as the AHA serums. So it was Tret the whole time making my skin all itchy. Hmmm… 🤔
This is the plan for now (it’s always changing depending on my skin)…
- AHA in the morning
- Alternate with BP and Tret at night
Day 21: My skin looks better today. The itchiness is diminishing slowly. Active pimples shrinking. Skin texture is still good. I’m going to begin alternating between BP and Tret in week 4. Hopefully it works! 😁
