Week 7…. π€
Day 43: It’s the beginning of Week 7! I noticed about 4 pimples on my face when I woke up this morning. They were very little. It’s not a cyst or anything like that. Three of them vanished by night. The last one looked like it’s going to disappear soon. Maybe tomorrow? Not bad. So my skin feels dry and itchy still. The dry patches are annoying. I have a couple of moisturizing skin care products coming tomorrow! I’m excited for that! I need something more moisiturizing than what I’m using right now. And I’m using a lot of moisturizing skin care products. lol. I’m trying! The dryness from Tret is definitely real. I thought about taking a break, but I don’t think I really need to when I’m buffering. It seems to be working for me. I’m getting results. But the dry skin and the cool weather…it makes my skin even MORE dry…
Let’s see what the new moisturizing skin care products can do when I get my hands on them! π Hopefully no new breakouts!! π€π»
Day 44: My skin looked reddish this morning. No new pimples. I’m really hating this itchy skin. I did a couple of layers of squalane too. I haven’t broken out from squalane either. That’s a good sign. I’m going to keep it in my skin care routine, but I don’t think it’s moisturizing enough.
By the end of the night, my skin was beyond irritated. Super, super itchy to the point I was constantly trying to itch my face gently. I know I shouldn’t, but it was so irritating and annoying. I’m going to take a break from Tret and moisturize my skin tonight. I have a couple of new moisturizers…
- Hadalabo Gokujun Hyaluronic Lotion – This brand brings back a lot of memories. I used to use it years ago. I don’t know why I stopped. I remember it being moisturizing, so I hope it helps!
- Cosrx Hyaluronic Acid Intensive Cream – So excited to try this out! I’ve heard so many good things about it! π
I also applied petroleum jelly all over my face too. I had too. My skin was beyond irritated and red. I’m so glad I have it around whenever I need it! It helps! Hopefully my skin calms down by tomorrow.
Day 45: Skin felt better this morning. Itchiness decreased. I think it’s because of the petroleum jelly. What a skin saver! haha! I used petroleum jelly this morning too along with my other moisturizing skin care products. My skin looked and felt less red and irritated by night. π
I’m going to rest my skin tonight again. I just feel that my skin is too irritated and sensitive right now to continue on with Tret. I’ll get back on it when my skin is ready. Two rest days so far…let’s see how it goes for the rest of the week. Finding a very good moisturizer that doesn’t break out the skin is key to getting through this. Let’s see what tomorrow holds!
Day 46: After two days off of Tret, my skin calmed down. Good, good. I didn’t want to slow down the process. It is good to have rest days during the week or moisturize more. I didn’t have any other moisturizing skin care products to use, so I had to take a break. My skin wasn’t having it. lol. So I have one new moisturizing skin care product that arrived today.
I’m going to try it out to restore the moisture in my skin. I’m discontinuing one skin care product from my skin care routine. It wasn’t working for me. I tried, and it failed each and every time.
- Cos De BAHA Hyaluronic Acid Serum – This serum kept balling up. It wouldn’t absorb. I can’t use other skin care products without it peeling. I gave up on it. I only have a little bit of product left. I’ll just use it on my body instead to use it up.
Currently, I have a couple of pimples from the skin dryness and irritation. I’m trying to calm my skin down for the bumps to go away. It seems to be working. So everyone, dry skin can lead to acne breakouts. Make sure to moisturize. If the moisturizers you have aren’t moisturizing enough, find another moisturizer or two. Just make sure you moisturize the ^&@!! out of your skin to protect your skin from drying out. Looking at my skin care routine, I’m using A TON of moisturizing skin care products. lol. π€ It’s workingggggg. π
Day 47: This morning, I noticed that a lot of the acne breakouts from having dry skin are shrinking. Surely but slowly. That’s better than nothing. The moisture levels in my skin have increased. It doesn’t last forever, but I’m making sure to replenish it whenever I can.
So I am double cleansing again. I’m not using hemp oil anymore. I’m using an actual cleansing oil (that washes off clean). I picked up this product right here…
I haven’t used this cleansing oil before, but I’m really excited about it. I used it this morning, and it felt nice on my skin. After using this cleansing oil, I followed up with my face wash, which is Derma E Hydrating Gentle Facial Cleanser.
I’m having issues with sunscreen/sunblock. I feel that it’s drying out my skin. I’m currently using Differin Oil-Absorbing Moisturizer with SPF 30. It hasn’t broken me out, but it’s definitely not hydrating during the winter. Just a thought. Same as my bb creams (makeup). They dry out my skin. I’ll be on the search for a more moisturizing sunscreen/sunblock and bb cream or foundation.
I also added another skin care product into my routine. I know, I know. I’m adding a lot of skin care products all at once, which isn’t a good idea, but I’m just going to do it. haha. My skin feels so much better now than before. The skin care product I’m adding is Cos De BAHA Azelaic 10 Serum. Hopefully this will help with the small bumps and acne scars. I used it this morning, and it didn’t dry my skin out. Let’s see how it goes in the next couple of days.
Day 48: Just a few more days left of this week. I’m nowhere near my goal. I stopped caring about how long it’ll take to reach my goal. I decided to take it much slower. The results seem better when I have breaks when using Tret. Less irritation for sure. I didn’t like how my skin dried out using it every night (even with moisturizers). In saying that, I won’t be using Tret every night anymore. I’m going to use it only 4-5 days a week. For the nights I don’t use Tret, I will be using Cos De BAHA Azelaic 10 Serum. This serum doesn’t burn or tingle my skin at all. Let’s see how this goes. I’m thinking about adding Cos De BAHA Retinol 2.5 Serum on my off days too, since it doesn’t dry out my skin either + the excessive amount of moisurizers I’m applying to my skin helps a ton!
Would love to mention that my skin is effortlessly peeling again after taking a few days off of Tret and jumping back on it. Taking a short break seemed to do the trick. ππ»ππ» I think I learned the hard way though. πΆ Some of the new breakouts were from irritation and very dry skin. Whew! Now let’s move in the right direction!
Day 49: It’s the last day of week 7! My skin was peeling again this morning (leftovers). And there’s still skin hanging from my face. Putting on makeup is so hard when I’m going through this. It takes a lot of time to make my skin look ‘decent’. A couple of new pimples emerged after peeling. My skin looks really glowy and smooth. Love, love, love! β₯
I have some MORE skin care products I’m adding tonight for more moisture and fading acne marks. I can never get enough! They are…
- Cosrx Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence
- Coxrx Galactomyces 95 Tone Balancing Essence – I’m finishing up my Cos De BAHA Galactomyces 94 Serum and moving on to something new. I hope this one works.
- Melano CC Vitamin C Brightening Essence – To help fade those acne marks and even out my complexion.
- The Ordinary Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% – Another skin brightening serum. π I hope it works!!! π
- Hadalabo Premium Moisturizing Lotion – Another Hadalabo Lotion…since I’m loving the other one so much.
More skin care products…but my skin LOOKS GOOD. It’s loving it all. I haven’t had a breakout from any of it yet. Hmmm, I don’t want to jinx myself, lol. Moving on to the next week! I’M SOOOO EXCITED!!! ππ»
Note: Look forward to reviews on the skin care products mentioned in this post. Just because I mentioned it, doesnβt mean itβs a good product. Stay tuned for an update! π
