My Tretinoin Journey: Week 9 Results

WEEK 9! 🙂
Day 57: Skin felt a tad itchy at night. I woke up in the middle of the night to moisturize my skin, lol. That helped to lessen the dry, itchy skin on the spot. Hopefully I don’t have to do this again because I want a good night’s rest for the day!
A couple of new skin care products today…
- The Ordinary Amino Acids + B5
- The INKEY List Niacinamide Oil Control Serum – I’ve been searching for a new niacinamide serum to replace my Cos De BAHA Niacinamide 10 Serum. I want something that feels less sticky and tacky. Thought I would give The INKEY List a try!
Day 58: My skin is peeling again today. Along with that, new breakouts. I’m really not done with the initial breakout yet. 😞 But, it really sucks when I have to deal with peeling skin during the day. I try my best to eliminate them, but it’s literally impossible to remove them all. I’m making sure to keep my skin hydrated, so the itchiness and dryness lessens. I think that’s what I’ve been trying to do anyways, lol. Such a struggle!! I’m going to take a rest day tonight. My skin feels sensitive. I can’t imagine applying Tret onto raw, peeled, reddish skin.
Day 59: The breakouts from yesterday shrunk. Had some leftover skin peeling from my face too. Skin doesn’t feel too dry anymore, so I’m back on Tret. Overall complexion looks glowy and nice. Still loving all the moisture I’m getting from my hydrating skin care products. Honestly, I look forward to moisturizing my skin in the morning and night. It’s a pleasant experience. Sooo I did pick up another facial moisturizer…
- Purito Dermide Cica Barrier Sleeping Pack – It’s vegan, cruelty-free, and supposedly seals in moisture. Let’s try it out!
Looking forward to tomorrow. Hopefully my skin behaves. 😆
Day 60: Wow, Purito Dermide Cica Barrier Sleeping Pack did a great job keeping my skin moisturized throughout the night. I didn’t wake up with dry skin. My skin felt so good this morning! It didn’t feel taut or itchy. I’m crossing my fingers that this moisturizer works out for me. I’ve been searching for a moisturizer that seals in moisture to prevent my skin from drying out for so long. Since it worked so well at night, I’m using it in the morning too. Guess what? It worked! This could be my new favorite facial moisturizer if it continues like this. 😃
Day 61: Skin is peeling again today. Tried my best to remove them in the AM to make it easier to apply makeup. I tried. Totally hopeless. So my skin looked better tonight after removing all of the dead skin. A couple more breakouts. A new cyst! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I KNOW! It hurts so much! And they take forever to go away. 🙁
Day 62: Skin looks good today. Really supple and glowy. 🙂 Ever since I introduced Purito Dermide Cica Barrier Sleeping Pack into my routine, my skin has improved. It hasn’t clogged my pores either. YESS!! Maybe I can use Tret every night now since my skin feels moisturized in the morning and at night? I wake up to supple and hydrated skin all thanks to this product. Now I’m thinking, where have you been throughout this whole journey! This is exactly what I’ve been searching for!!
Day 63: Today is the last day of the week! I have some new breakouts. They are the worst kind too! CYSTS! Yes, more than one! Ugh! And, of course, they are painful. But, overall, my skin texture looks really good. Just still going through the initial breakout. When will it be over…who knows…
Alright! This week is over! I’ve been on Tret for 2 months already (including rest days)! WOW! Time sure flies! Here’s a quick update on my skin. I’m still going through the initial breakout, but the breakouts aren’t all over the place. I would say that I have less than 10 pimples. Not bad. It would be better if they weren’t there though! lol. But remember the closed comedones I was talking about before I started the journey? They are completely gone! So yes, my skin did improve within the 2 months. I know I wasn’t consistent with Tret due to experiencing dry and itchy skin, but it’s best to listen to your skin. So I’m really happy that I’m moving on to a new week! I hope to see more improvements. Only time will tell. Let’s go! See you all there! 😊😊😊
