Flackers Organic Flax Seed Crackers in Rosemary

I purchased crackers called Flackers Organic Flax Seed Crackers to get out of my comfort zone. I’m so used to protein bars, protein cookies, and protein chips. These crackers looked like a healthier alternative compared to other snacks over the counter at my local grocery store. I actually bought these off of amazon. I don’t think my local grocery store carry these crackers anyways (last time I checked). I chose Rosemary and Savory. They offer a total of six flavors. The last four flavors are Cinnamon & Currants, Dill, Sea Salt, and Tomato Basil. Today, I’m going to review only two of them — Rosemary and Savory. A little bit about Flackers before I review them.

Flackers Organic Flax Seed Crackers:

#1. Rosemary:

The Rosemary was crunchy and not too salty. I liked the texture. I love crunchy snacks. Mmm! In terms of flavor, I didn’t like it much. It had a powerful apple cider vinegar taste to it. Organic apple cider vinegar is the second ingredient in this product (see ingredient list below). The organic apple cider vinegar is very off-putting to me. Anyone that is familiar with apple cider vinegar knows that it has a strong, pungent vinegar smell. It’s awful. It tastes quite awful too. Apple cider vinegar shots, anyone? By the way, organic apple cider vinegar has tons of health benefits. It’s not all bad. I’ll get into that some other time. With these crackers, I think if you like that prominent organic apple cider vinegar taste in your food, you would love it. Me, I’ll pass. It’s too strong for me.

#2. Savory:

Savory was crunchy, not too salty like the Rosemary flavor. They are very similar in texture. The Savory also had an apple cider vinegar taste to it too. The second ingredient is organic apple cider vinegar, but it’s less pronounced. I find the Savory flavor more tolerable. It has a mild-moderate spice to it. Still, overall, I thought it was pretty bland. Something is missing. For a flavor called Savory, it didn’t stand out much to me. It could’ve been better. I’m in the middle when it comes to the Savory flavor.

Nutrition Facts:

Ingredients: Organic Flaxseeds, Organic Apple Cider Vinegar, Organic Garlic, Organic Onion, Sea Salt, Organic Basil Leaf, Organic Red Chili Pepper.

I find Flackers very simple and pure with their ingredients. Even though I wasn’t ecstatic about the outcome of the taste, it’s obviously healthy just by looking at the ingredients. What you see is what you get. It’s much better for you compared to eating chips and doughnuts. Flaxseeds, in general, are very good for you. It provides essential plant-based omega-3 fatty acids. It’s good for the skin and immune system. I use flaxseeds in my oatmeal sometimes when I’m bored with hemp seeds or chia seeds. I’ll get more into that later. As for the product, the taste was meh. Bland and boring. I can’t see myself purchasing the Rosemary or Savory flavors again. I might try out the other flavors: Cinnamon & Currants, Dill, Sea Salt, and Tomato Basil. They might be different. What do you guys think? Have you tried Flackers Organic Flax Seed Crackers before? Rosemary? Savory? The last four flavors mentioned above? Share your views on them!
