An Update on PanOxyl Acne Foaming Face Wash! What I’m Using Now.

PanOxyl Acne Foaming Wash

Here’s an update on PanOxyl Acne Foaming Wash! I’ve been using it for goodness knows how long. It feels like forever. It’s been my facial cleanser since last year. I’ve switched between the Acne Foaming Wash and Acne Creamy Wash. Between the two, my skin much prefers the Acne Foaming Wash. It’s that oily skin that I have. The Acne Foaming Wash isn’t drying at all on my skin (as of late), which is a good thing, but there’s more to this face wash that I want to talk about (keep reading!!). Meanwhile…the Acne Creamy Wash doesn’t do much for my skin. It’s too moisturizing for my skin type. I think it’s better for someone with dry or normal skin. I only used it when my skin felt super dry from my acne treatments. But, I haven’t had that problem lately. I stopped using it because I simply don’t need it. Plus it’s not doing anything for my skin. I need a facial cleanser that actually leaves my skin feeling clean. I have excess oil on my facial skin that needs to be removed. The Acne Creamy Wash wasn’t cutting it.

So I’ve been having second thoughts about PanOxyl Acne Foaming Wash. After going through many tubes of this product, it looks like the 10% benzoyl peroxide in the product has very little to no effect on my acne. I love benzoyl peroxide. It’s amazing stuff for acne. I’ve used it for so many years on and off. But this face wash isn’t doing what it’s supposed to do. On the packaging it says that it’ll clear existing acne and helps to prevent new breakouts from forming. Nope, didn’t happen. Not for me at least. Treats acne on the face and the body. That didn’t happen either. Benzoyl peroxide is an effective ingredient for acne. I have a bottle of benzoyl peroxide gel that I use to spot treat my acne when necessary. It works. But this face wash did absolutely nothing for my acne. I tried leaving it on my skin for a few minutes too. I even tried leaving it on for 5 minutes. No results. It’s just like any other facial cleanser. It’s good at cleansing the skin, but it’s not good at treating acne. Well, it didn’t work on my acne-prone skin.

At the moment, I’m trying to finish up my PanOxyl facial cleansers (both of them, lol). In the meantime, I’m using Neutrogena Hydro Boost Exfoliating Cleanser as my main cleanser. It’s all that I have that (I guess) works on my skin. Just for now, I mean. Even though it contains AHAs like glycolic acid and lactic acid, it hasn’t dried out my skin or irritate it. It’s a pretty moisturizing facial cleanser like it’s advertised as — a hydro boost exfoliating cleanser. Maybe my skin is just so oily that it can handle it. At the same time, it’s good at removing excess oil without drying my skin out. It hasn’t done much for my acne though. I find the AHAs in this product useless. It’s not left on my skin long enough just like how the benzoyl peroxide in PanOxyl facial cleansers isn’t left on my skin long enough to have any effect on my acne. It’s quite a disappointment. I wished it would have some positive effect on my skin. So I think I’m going to use this face wash until I find something else that’s better for my skin. It works for the time being.

1 Month Using Olay Regenerist Collagen Peptide 24 Cream Cleanser & What I’m Doing Now for My Acne…

Review: Olay Regenerist Collagen Peptide 24 Cream Cleanser

I’ve been using Olay Regenerist Collagen Peptide 24 Cream Cleanser for a month. I started off using it in the morning and night. It worked great! It helped clear out a bunch of stubborn closed comedones that wouldn’t budge. Left my skin feeling soft and smooth after each use. I wasn’t using it as a facial cleanser but an acne treatment. It contains salicylic acid, but it’s not known as an acne treatment or a salicylic acid treatment. I tried using it as a face wash when I first purchased it, but that didn’t work out. It clogged my pores terribly. I noticed pimples on my face very quick. This cleanser leaves an oily, fatty film behind on the skin. It just doesn’t leave the skin feeling clean after rinsing it off. If you have clog-prone skin, it’s a good idea to use another facial cleanser afterwards to make sure all of that grease is taken off of the skin. As an acne treatment, it’s wonderful! It worked to unclog pores. Finally, something that works to unclog these annoying, clogged pores that I’ve had for months! Possibly years!

So I continued using the cream cleanser for the next couple of weeks. My skin looked even better. A lot softer and smoother. It helped with the texture of my skin too. With this cream cleanser, even though the texture of product is heavy and moisturizing on the skin, it’s best to use it with a heavy duty moisturizer. Don’t be fooled just because it’s cream-based. It can dry out the skin. My skin became so dry when I was only using a lightweight moisturizer or no moisturizer with this product. Sorry, I couldn’t find a moisturizer that worked on my skin during that time. But it truly works better when used with a heavier moisturizer or layers of moisturizers (what I do, read more about what moisturizers I like by clicking the link!), since my skin is so finicky, lol. My skin didn’t feel dry at all, and I was able to use it twice a day with no irritation or redness. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

I loved the results of this product, but I decided to get back on tret. Read about my break from tret here! ๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿป And get ready for an update on my experience with tret soon! It turns out Olay Regenerist Collagen Peptide 24 Cream Cleanser and tret don’t go well together. They’re both exfoliants, and my skin burns when I use Olay too often with tret. So I’m only using the cream cleanser a few times a week at night. Yes, I know this stuff helped my acne, but my skin has settled and is ready to take on tret again. It’s been a whole month off of tret. I think it’s time to reintroduce it back in. From my past experience, retinoids do wonders for my acne and skin texture. Other than that, this is a good product for the price and effectiveness. I’m still shocked ’til this day. I tried so many acne treatments over the years, and I saw noticeable results within 1 week of using this cream cleanser! I just didn’t expect it to work on my acne. I’m very impressed! I’ll keep it around, since it helps to improve my skin.

Review: Olay Regenerist Collagen Peptide 24 Cream Cleanser

Even though I couldn’t use Olay Regenerist Collagen Peptide 24 Cream Cleanser as a stand alone facial cleanser, I continued to use it because I have it. What am I to do with this facial cleanser? Throw it out? I think not! lol. I used Olay Regenerist Collagen Peptide 24 Cream Cleanser as a pre-cleanser. So I use the Olay cream cleanser first. Next, I use my daily cleanser to rinse off any residue left behind by the Olay cream cleanser. The Olay cream cleanser is notorious for leaving a thin layer of film behind on the skin. It doesn’t make a good facial cleanser at all. Well, on my skin it doesn’t. I have oily skin, and I need a facial cleanser that removes sebum, dirt, debris from my skin very thoroughly. This doesn’t cut it. But…

The cleanser feels so soft, velvety, and smooth on the skin. I always look forward to using it. I’m in love with the texture and consistency of the product. I just wish my skin could handle a creamy cleanser like this. It’s just so gentle on the skin and doesn’t irritate the skin at all. Well, besides the slight burning sensation in the beginning. Don’t worry, that stinging sensation eventually went away after a whole week of using it twice a day. It must be the salicylic acid in this product that’s doing that. Also, my skin isn’t as dry anymore using this cleanser, since it’s so creamy and rich. It leaves my skin more moisturized compared to using my main cleanser alone (PanOxyl Acne Foaming Wash 10%). The ingredients in this cleanser isn’t too bad either. It contains moisturizers, niacinamide, snow mushroom, and collagen peptides.

During the first week, I started to notice a breakout again even with cleansing my skin with another facial cleanser after using Olay cream cleanser. But these pimples were much different. It didn’t fill up my pores (what it did without following up with another facial cleanser). It was unclogging them. I can see closed comedones moving up to the surface, and my skin smoothing out. I spent so much time on prescription acne treatments, and I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. And this is working?? This is truly amazing. Salicylic acid usually doesn’t work on my acne, but this seems to be working. I just didn’t expect it. And it’s super affordable and accessible too. I’m hooked! Well, as long as it continues to clear up my skin!

So it seems like this facial cleanser (or treatment, what I use it as) is working on my acne. Who knew. I just purchased it to replace my facial cleanser, but I ended up with something that cleared up most of my leftover acne without drying my entire face out! I’m so happy! My skin isn’t fully clear yet, but it’s moving in that direction. I mean, it’s only been 1 week on this product. Salicylic acid takes time to work too. So far, I have some small areas that need to be cleared out, but I think it’s going to happen in a few weeks. Everyone, my skin is almost officially clear, and I’m ecstatic about the results!! I haven’t worn any makeup for the past weeks due to the brightness, smoothness, and how my clear my skin looks. I can’t wait to see results next week! A new update soon to see if it’s truly working! I like what I’m seeing after 1 week! ๐Ÿ˜€

PanOxyl Acne Creamy Wash (4%) vs Acne Foaming Wash (10%)

PanOxyl Acne Wash

I moved on to another benzoyl peroxide face wash! I mean face washes. ๐Ÿ™‚ They are PanOxyl Acne Creamy Wash (4%) and PanOxyl Acne Foaming Wash (10%)! But why do I have two face washes? I use them both! I started off using the 4% first then decided to bump it up to the 10%. I noticed there were days where my skin felt dry, I would lean towards the 4%. On days where my skin became super oily, I would reach over for the 10%. Keeping my skin balanced has helped improve the condition of my skin by a ton. Giving what it needs instead of forcing it to use a harsh or stronger product than necessary. Listening to your skin is very important. โœจ This seems to be working for me, since I’ve seen improvements in my skin. So I’ve finished one tube of each face wash, here are my thoughts on them…

PanOxyl Acne Creamy Wash (4%)

PanOxyl Acne Creamy Wash

After being let down by CeraVe Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser (review here), I decided to try out other benzoyl peroxide face washes. They happen to be PanOxyl Acne Creamy Wash (4%) and PanOxyl Acne Foaming Wash (10%). I started using the Acne Creamy Wash (4%) first. If the 4% isn’t strong enough, I could always increase the strength to 10%. With the Acne Creamy Wash, the first couple of washes went well. The texture of this face wash is truly creamy. It’s not as runny as CeraVe when dispensed from the tube. When applied to the face, it works just as described, which is a creamy face wash. No surprises. The product feels really nice on the skin. It’s soft and easy to move across the face. If I have active breakouts, I’ll spend more time massaging the product into those areas. I can feel the benzoyl peroxide working into my skin. That didnโ€™t happen with the previous benzoyl peroxide wash (CeraVe) I tried. This felt new and different on my skin. It rinses off clean and doesn’t leave a sticky feeling behind afterwards. It didnโ€™t leave my skin feeling dry or tight either. But after 2 weeks of using the Acne Creamy Wash, I decided to try the Acne Foaming Wash (10%), since the Acne Creamy Wash didn’t feel strong enough for my skin. I needed something that’s stronger and cleans my skin even better. The 4% isn’t a bad product. My skin needed something more. Don’t worry, I still kept the 4% for those dry skin days. ๐Ÿ™‚

PanOxyl Acne Foaming Wash (10%)

PanOxyl Acne Foaming Wash

The Acne Foaming Wash (10%) is a lot thicker and creamier in consistency compared to the Acne Creamy Wash (4%). I fell in love with the texture of this face wash right away. It’s like a blob of creaminess. It feels soft and soothing when massaged into the skin. Surprisingly, it left my skin feeling cleaner but not stripped. It didn’t leave any residue behind after rinsing either. Didn’t dry out my skin. My skin felt clean and refreshed. After using the Acne Foaming Wash for a week, I started purging on my forehead and jawline. They were large bumps of acne that were painful to touch. I continued to use the face wash, and the new pimples eventually went away and healed. It took some time for them to go away too (ugh, cystic acne), but they diminished within time. It took some patience to get there. ha. So this face wash was more effective at unclogging stubborn acne. It is the 10% after all. Even though I’ve seen positive effects with this face wash, it didn’t get rid of my acne completely. It was more like a step towards to getting rid of acne. My skin looks and feels pretty good after using it, so it’s a good face wash. My oily skin seems to really like it! I use the 10% more often than I do the 4%. It just works better on my skin.

BP washes sealed. ๐Ÿ™‚ I love opening a new one of these babies. It feels so refreshing!

PanOxyl Acne Wash

Conclusion

I’ve used PanOxyl Acne Creamy Wash and PanOxyl Acne Foaming Wash for 3 months. My experience with both has been very good so far. They both work on my skin without irritating or extremely drying it out. It looks like my skin prefers the 10% over the the 4%. I use the Acne Foaming Wash (10%) most days of the week. Once in a while or a few times a week, I use the 4%. I haven’t had any new breakouts from these products besides the ones from the Acne Foaming Wash (in the beginning). Even though my skin didn’t clear up using these face washes, I still like them. I didn’t expect them to completely clear up my acne anyways. I do have more resistant, stubborn acne. It would be nice if it did. haha. I see it as another way of using benzoyl peroxide. I get really tired of using benzoyl peroxide as an all-over acne treatment sometimes. It’s a great acne treatment, but it makes my skin feel super dry and dull. I think these are a good option if you don’t want to slather benzoyl peroxide peroxide all over your face at night, or if you’re looking for a face wash with benzoyl peroxide to include in your routine.
