Review: Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence

Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence

A few months ago I purchased a bottle of Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence. This product has so many good reviews from getting rid of acne, fading hyperpigmentation, brightening the complexion, and anti-aging. I had to try it out myself. But I was going through an acne breakout that I hesitated to use it on my face at first. I ended up using the essence on my face only for a couple of days then stopped. I continued to use it on my body because I didn’t want the product to go to waste. Since I’ve been on a minimal skin care routine for the past month, I decided it’s time to add a new product in my routine. I chose Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence due to it’s acne-fighting and skin brightening ingredients. I have some annoying stubborn acne that needs to be unclogged, some acne scars to fade, and would like something to brighten my dull complexion. I just wanted something that would improve the condition of my skin. I was itching for something new in my routine.

This essence comes out as a gel. All you need is one pump. It’s more than enough for the whole face. The essence feels lightweight on the skin. It sinks instantly into the skin and doesn’t leave any residue behind. I thought I had found a perfect skin care match for my skin, since it didn’t feel greasy or heavy. The product just vanished into my skin while leaving my skin feeling calm and refreshed. There was no thin film lingering on my skin like all of the other skin care products I have tried. I really liked the way this essence felt on my skin. I looked forward to using it because it felt so soothing on the skin. The texture of this product is really nice.

After a 1-2 days of using the essence, I noticed that my skin was more even and brighter. It looked very glowy and smooth. But I also noticed that I developed 2 cysts on my face. They were so random. They appeared within those first few days of using this essence. So there appears to be the old formulation and the new formulation of this product. I have the new version, which contains niacinamide. It doesn’t contain arbutin and azelaic acid (the old formula), which would cause the skin to exfoliate and purge. When I noticed the cysts, I was taken back. I didn’t know what to do. Should I stop using it or keep going? I really wanted this essence to work. Is it working? So many questions!

After all of that pondering, I continued to use it.

In the beginning, when I was using the essence, my skin felt soft and hydrated, but that all changed 4-5 days in. My skin felt drier. Since I have oily skin, it didn’t dry my skin out that much. It helped to decrease the oil in my skin and actually keep it at bay. But I thought this essence was supposed to be hydrating? Hmmm. With this essence, I did see improvements in my skin. My acne scars were fading faster. My complexion looked brighter by the day. Fine lines and wrinkles were smoothing out. It made my skin look very supple and youthful. It helped heal some active acne too. Some pimples moved up to the surface. My skin looked really good besides a few other things.

Because all good things must come to an end.

I did notice improvements in my skin with this essence, but I also noticed something else that I wasn’t expecting. They were clogged pores. A cluster of closed comedones appeared out of nowhere. Luckily for me, I only added one product into my skin care routine and nothing else. There was only one product to blame, which was *ahem* obviously the Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence. Duh. haha. What else can it be? The benefit of not using numerous skin care products all at once! After noticing these breakouts, I stopped using the essence immediately, and those closed comedones started to reduce in size and diminish. So it looks like this essence didn’t work on my skin like I thought it would. I had so much hope, since it was created for problematic skin. My skin didn’t like it at all. I should’ve stopped using it when I noticed 2 large cysts within the first couple of days. It was a clear sign that it would cause more trouble.

This is what the Benton Snail Bee High Content looks like. Looks like a blob of gel. Surprisingly, it’s not sticky. It feels cool and refreshing when applied to the skin. Absorbs very quick. This product contains snail secretion filtrate and bee venom. Snail to help heal and hydrate the skin. Bee venom to boost collagen in the skin.

Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence

✅ Pros

❌ Cons

This experience was a huge disappointment. I wanted Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence to work on my skin, since people have said so many positive things about it. It did all the good things that I wanted in a skin care product. It helped to control oil in my skin, fade acne scars and hyperpigmentation very fast, and brightened my complexion. The brightening effect of this product is no joke. I noticed that my complexion was brighter after 1-2 days of use. I was so shocked. My acne scars faded dramatically too. The results were much faster than any other brightening product I have used. Too bad my skin didn’t like it. The essence caused cystic acne and closed comedones. There’s no way I can continue to use it if it does that to my skin. Well, it was nice to try to see if it works. Now I know it doesn’t. I’m going to lay low on adding anything new (leave-on skin care products) in my routine. Just keep what I have right now since it works. I don’t want any new breakouts. But this essence seems to work for a lot of people. It just didn’t work for me. I can’t recommend it since it gave me bad acne. It could work for you if you really want to try it. Everyone’s skin reacts differently to products.
