So what results did I get?

My natural hair color falls somewhere between Medium-Dark-Darkest Brown, it really depends under which lighting. Sometimes it even looks black from afar, but it’s not truly black. It’s like a dark brown color. Looking at my hair color results, I can see some red-violet shades under certain lighting conditions.

What’s better than just describing the color? PICTURES!

I have pictures. It’s really difficult to capture the true color of my hair in photos. But here it is.

Last night when my hair dried. The color looked dark with some reddish in it. I thought it looked auburn, leaning towards the reds. At the same time, I could see some dark violet in it.

What my hair looked like this morning. Huh, auburn? red? It’s not bad. I’ll take it for what it is considering I didn’t have to bleach my hair and color it. My hair looks and feels very healthy! Before this, it felt as if it has lost its life even though I shampoo and condition thoroughly. Maybe I need to add a deep conditioning treatment in my hair care routine again. I’ve been slacking on that.

There you go. Those are my results. I only used ONE box. I’m wondering if I should do another color application before Christmas. I’ll see how it washes in the next couple of days. 🙂

I decided to color my hair tonight. I picked up a box hair dye. Oops! Don’t shoot me. I usually go to a professional hair store, but it was too late. It was close. I picked up Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Color Nourishing Color Creme at Target. Target always opens late, right? Yep.

I haven’t dyed my hair in YEARS. My hair is virgin. I use to abuse my hair like mad. I’ve been blonde, ash brown, blue-black, medium ash brown, light ash brown, red, auburn, etc. The color I chose is Dark Intense Violet/Spiced Plum. I was thinking of an intense violet (as the name of the color suggests) that is noticeable to the eye and under lights. Something like that.

I know my hair color isn’t going to look identical as what is shown on the box. I’m not going to bleach my hair. It’s time consuming and leads to dry hair that breaks off easily. If you have very dark hair and want the exact color on the box, you must bleach it! I’m just going to use the dye straight and see what happens.

This is what’s included in the box.

  1. Developer Creme
  2. Nourishing Color Creme
  3. Fruit Oil Ampoule
  4. Nourishing Conditioner

Also, instructions and gloves. The gloves were too big for my hands, but I tried to make the most of it, lol.

What’s in the Box

This hair dye was very easy to follow and use. All you do is squeeze the Nourishing Color Creme and Fruit Oil Ampoule into the Creme Developer then shake it up. How long to leave it on? According to the box, 25 minutes after application. When you’re done, wash your hair and use the conditioner included.

What are the results?

I don’t have pictures of my hair color right now, but I can definitely tell that my overall hair color is different by looking at the roots and as my hair air dries. Judging by looking at it as of now — I was hoping for it to be more purple-ish. I think the ‘Ultra Bold Violet’ and ‘Dark Intense Violet’ wording tricked me. I don’t know what to make of it yet. Hmm.

Oh, my hair feels moisturized. Love it.

I’ll make an update tomorrow. 🙂
