Neutrogena Body Mist SPF 70 Blue Lizard SPF 50

I finished two more sunscreens. They are…

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Body Mist Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 70:

I wanted to try Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Body Mist Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 70 for the heck of it. I was picking up a few sunscreens for the summer. This one just popped up. I had to try it! The sunscreen comes in a spray bottle. It’s 5.0 oz. (141 g). It’s water resistant (80 minutes). It has a spray nozzle that clicks (opens and closes). I didn’t have any issues with the sunscreen getting everywhere with this type of nozzle. The sunscreen sprays out like a fine mist. It claims to be a ‘mist’. It really is a mist. I was really intrigued by that. It feels lightweight and greasy at the same time. It’s not ultra-light or non-greasy as it claims. It’s funny because it sprays out so light but looks and feels heavier on the skin. It left my skin looking shiny and greasy. I was disappointed in that. I was hoping for a clean feel. Something likeΒ Sun Bum Face Mist Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 45. Sun Bum had a lighter feel on the skin. It absorbs faster and doesn’t leave any residue behind. Neutrogena, on the other hand, was the opposite (shiny, greasy, heavy).

The smell of this sunscreen was awful. It’s very strong. Honestly, it’s probably not healthy using a spray sunscreen like this daily. The fumes get everywhere, and even though I try my best to not breathe it in, it’s just not a healthy way to use sunscreen. Darn, I really was pulled into spray sunscreens this summer, haha. As for protection, I didn’t burn when using it, but I wasn’t outdoors for too long. It’s a chemical sunscreen, doesn’t leave a white cast, broad spectrum. Hmmmmm. Do I like it? Not really. I really was hoping for a truly lightweight feel spray sunscreen. I just didn’t get that. I’m so glad I finished this. It was a convenient sunscreen to use, but I’m over it. I didn’t like it that much. It took me about a month to finish it, by the way.

Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen Stick Sensitive SPF 50+:

I’ve had a bunch of these sunscreen sticks for a while. I finally finished my last sunscreen stick of Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen Stick Sensitive SPF 50+! I’m so happy! haha! πŸ˜‚ So this is a mineral sunscreen. It contains 20% Zinc Oxide. It’s very thick on the skin. I stopped using it on my face so long ago. It contains ingredients that are just not compatible with my skin. It’s just very heavy. Here are the rest of the ingredients if you’re interested:

aloe vera extract, shea butter, coconut oil, sunflower seed oil, waxes (sunflower seed, candelilla), castor seed oil, jojoba oil, squalane, cocoa butter, and a few other ingredients.

As you can see, my acne-prone skin did not fare well with an ingredient list like this. I used the rest of the sunscreen sticks on my body. The sunscreen is water-resistant (80 minutes) and sweat-resistant. No kidding. This sunscreen sticks to the skin like crazy. I’ve used it on my arms and noticed that it’s really difficult to remove. I have to deeply cleanse my skin to fully remove every single trace of this sunscreen. It also gets everywhere. Since it leaves a white cast on the skin, the white cast transfers onto my clothes, bed sheets, and car seats. Just everywhere. That’s not what I want from a sunscreen. Yuck! Even though the texture of the sunscreen is soft and soothing, I’m not a fan of it. I’m just happy to be done with all of them. It’s not for me.

That’s my experience with Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Body Mist Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 70 and
Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen Stick Sensitive SPF 50+! More to come! Stay tuned!

My Acne Journey: 6 MONTHS!!! πŸŽ‰

Comment
Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen Stick Sensitive SPF 50

It’s been 6 MONTHS on this acne journey! Even though I’ve been on this acne journey for 6 months, I’m going to be counting the days when I started to use tret daily (at least try to). I’m nearing 3 weeks soon! Today marks 19 DAYS!! I’ve decreased from the highest dose to the lowest so I can use it daily. I would stick to the highest dose, but I got tired of my skin peeling constantly. Peeling skin isn’t a bad thing, but while my skin was peeling, it didn’t help much with acne. There could be many possibilities why it didn’t work during that time. Maybe it’s because I was using that pore-clogging moisturizer (Vanicream Daily Moisturizer for Sensitive Skin). That’s one of the products that ruined my progress plus other skin care products that I don’t use anymore. It’s just cleanse, treat, and sunscreen for me. I think what else ruined my acne progress was my past vegan diet (here’s a new update!). My skin had a difficult time healing. Now, my skin heals quickly if there’s a wound. Thanks to the high quality protein from meat. πŸ– It was a combination of things in my life. Why not just use the high dose without a moisturizer now?? I honestly don’t feel like switching right now. I’m already using what works. Low dose of tret is definitely working. I can see visible results. It took time to get there, but it’s finally working. Patience is key at this point.

The Purge & Results.

My skin purged and peeled twice this week. I was pretty ecstatic about it because that’s a sign that tret is working for my acne. I could feel a thick layer of dead skin sitting on my face. It felt so gross, but it was extremely satisfying to remove by the end of the day, lol. Once the dead skin came off, I noticed breakouts. πŸ˜’ It sucks, but it’s bound to happen. Cell turnover and new skin cells. I’m not happy with the new breakouts but at least I know it’s doing something. So far, I’ve experienced 3 cysts that randomly popped up out of nowhere. They healed much faster instead of lingering on for weeks. I’ve also had smaller pimples. The pimples that have been living underneath my skin for several months end! I’ve been trying to zap them with other acne treatments like salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide to no avail. Now, they are finally out! I noticed some blackheads too. I made a mistake of extracting some of the blackheads and that pressure created red marks in my skin. Technically, I ripped my skin off. πŸ˜“ Note to self, don’t ever do this again even if it’s tempting. I thought the blackheads were from my sunscreen. It’s actually from the tret purge. The rest of the blackheads loosened up and fell out of my pores the next day (woohoo! but yuck?). Those red marks faded away at the end of the week too. Thankfully.

Most of the breakouts I experienced this week have healed on its own, except for one cyst, but it’s shrinking quickly. I noticed that cyst just a day ago, so that’s why it’s still hanging out on my face. Overall, my skin looks softer and smoother. It looks way better now (3 weeks) compared to when I started. It also looks better compared to when I was on the highest dose. I went through a short phase of irritation (burning, red/pink skin, some dryness). Now those signs of irritation have lessened quite a bit. There’s some irritation, but I can get by without problems arising. My skin is just peeling and unclogging pores now with every day use. I was applying my bb cream and was super impressed that my bb cream just glides over my skin smoothly. It looked sooo smooth! Like what my skin used to look like when it was fully clear! I’m very ecstatic with the results so far! Can’t wait to see further improvements within the next few weeks! By the way, I stopped using bha since I don’t need it right now. I’ll use it whenever my skin needs it. I don’t want to dry my skin out when I’m not using a moisturizer. All of a sudden I had the urge to look for one, but I haven’t found one that I think would suit my skin. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ I’m still moisturizer-free.

Some products I love this week…

Blue Lizard Sunscreen Stick Sensitive:

This wasn’t the type of sunscreen for the summer, but it’s working for me in the winter. I’m not using it on my face. It contains shea butter, coconut oil, candelilla wax, sunflower seed oil, sunflower seed wax, castor oil, jojoba seed oil, and even cocoa butter. This sunscreen is a haven for clogged pores. So! I used it around my eyes, neck, and ears. It’s too heavy and oily for me for the back of the hands. I love using this product on my neck. It helps to moisturize and protect that part of my skin from harmful UV rays. Works great during the cooler, colder months!

CeraVe Hydrating Mineral Face Sheer Tint:

I have so many good things to say about this sunscreen. I’m on my second tube, and I’m almost running low! Thank goodness I stocked up on this sunscreen. I can’t run out. I won’t. As long as it’s available. This sunscreen is tinted and makes it very easy to apply mineral sunscreen (usually leaves a white cast behind). This sunscreen just blends into the skin well, leaves the skin moisturized (hasn’t clogged my pores yet!), and makes my skin look super soft and dewy. It helps to brighten my skin too with niacinamide. The only thing I would change about this sunscreen so far would be the SPF. I still wish it was SPF 50+!!

Just finished up 6 months! πŸ₯³

End of Summer Thoughts on My Sunscreens 🌞

Comment
Summer Sunscreens 2021

It’s the end of summer. August must’ve been the hottest month of the summer. Here are my thoughts on sunscreens I finished and am almost done with!

Differin Oil Absorbing Moisturizer with SPF 30:

I have about 1/4 left of this sunscreen. I haven’t been using it on my face. It burns my eyes, makes my face appear more oily, and irritates the crap out of my facial skin. Yes, my face is very sensitive right now. So I’ve been using it mainly on my hands. It works amazingly for the hands. I wash my hands so much in a day. After I dry off my hands, I use the Differin Oil Absorbing Moisturizer with SPF 30 to protect my skin from UV damage. It works for that! But I’m not repurchasing when I’m done with it. This is what I do when I’m trying to finish up a product that I don’t like. At least it works for something. Just not my face.

Coppertone Defend & Care Clear Zinc 50:

This sunscreen is awful. I’m using it on my body when I’m working out outdoors. Maybe my nose is just sensitive, but Coppertone Defend & Care Clear Zinc 50 has an terrible smell. It smells like plastic. Yuck! It also leaves a subtle white cast behind. Thank goodness my legs are super white anyways, so this sunscreen works on my legs, lol. Here’s to another sunscreen that I can’t wait to finish up and toss it out! I won’t repurchase this one again either.

Neutrogena Sport Face Oil-Free Lotion Sunscreen SPF 70+:

I finished a bottle of Neutrogena Sport Face Oil-Free Lotion Sunscreen SPF 70+ this summer! I’m so happy! I used it mainly on my hands when I’m outdoors. It’s moisturizing, water-resistant, and has a high SPF of 70+! Too bad I can’t use this sunscreen on my face. It contains beeswax, so it clogs my pores. Yes, I have tried it on my face. It indeed clogged my pores pretty fast. Another sunscreen that doesn’t work on my face. I have one bottle left to finish, but I think it’ll be easy to finish. The texture of the sunscreen isn’t too bad, and I love water-resistant sunscreens. They stick to my skin and works to protect my skin! Love! But that’s all I really love about this sunscreen besides the high SPF, haha!

Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen Stick Sensitive SPF 50+:

I went overboard and purchased a bunch of Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen Stick Sensitive SPF 50+. I knocked out a couple of sunscreen sticks already, but I still have a lot left to go. This sunscreen stick is soft, moisturizing, and feels very smooth, so it leaves the skin feel extremely moisturized and protected. But it is too heavy on my facial skin. I’ve been using it around my eyes, ears, neck, hands, feet. I think those are the best places to use this product. I haven’t had any skin irritations using it. It’s pretty good for sensitive skin (as it states it is). Too bad it didn’t work on my facial skin. It’s extremely heavy and pore-clogging. That’s not the only reason why I’m not going to purchase this sunscreen again. It also leaves an awful white cast behind. It contains 20% zinc oxide. I’m not a huge fan of the texture and consistency of the product either. It feels terrible on the skin. I just didn’t like it.

Kose Suncut UV Perfect Essence Super Waterproof SPF 50+ PA++++:

I always stash this sunscreen in my bag (my last Kose sunscreen!). It’s lightweight, absorbs quick, great for touch-ups (not the face). I use it mainly on my hands. This sunscreen is also water-proof and sticks to the skin well. I wished it worked on my face. It feels clean when applied to the skin. It’s like I’m not wearing any sunscreen at all. But I experienced skin irritation while using it. It made my skin itchy, red, and dry. It’s most likely have to do with the alcohol content. Well, it sure smells like it.

Canmake Mermaid Skin Gel UV SPF 50+ PA++++ (White):

I’ve been trying to use up Canmake in White for the past month, lol. This sunscreen doesn’t cause any skin issues like breakouts, redness, or other skin irritations, but the white cast is truly awful. It’s also super drying on the skin too. If you’re trying to choose which Canmake sunscreen you should buy, get the Clear. I’m so close to being done with Canmake White! ha!

Banana Boat Ultra Sport Sunscreen Stick Broad Spectrum SPF 50+:

I love how convenient this sunscreen is. It’s easy to use and goes on the skin smoothly. It’s moisturizing. But, it feels sticky and unpleasant on the skin. I’m having trouble finishing this sunscreen. I don’t use it too often due to the stickiness. I’m trying to, but it’s been difficult. I just don’t like the texture of this sunscreen. It feels gross on the skin.

Neutrogena Visibly Even Daily Moisturizer SPF 30:

Neutrogena Visibly Even Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 used to be my HG sunscreen. I couldn’t find anything better during that time. I just stuck with it because I needed a sunscreen for daily use to protect my skin. So I tried this sunscreen again. It felt lightweight and moisturizing on the skin. It contains SPF 30, but honestly, I don’t think this sunscreen is that amazing. I remember using it and still burned while using it. I also developed a ton of freckles. I think it works better as a moisturizer than a sunscreen. I don’t think this product is available anymore. I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find it. Oh well. I stopped using it a while ago. I’m just trying to finish up what I have left. I can’t believe I still have it. lol.

I’m hoping to finish these sunscreens by the end of the year. I wish I could use them on my face, but they are failed sunscreens for a reason. I hope my reviews were helpful! Have a good one. 😊

Trying Out Sunscreens Again! 😎

Comment
Summer Sunscreens 2021

I have a bunch of sunscreens that I wanted to try again. Most of them broke me out in the past, but ya know, let’s give them a go! Let’s start off with the first one I tried! πŸ™‚

Neutrogena Sport Face Oil-Free Lotion Sunscreen SPF 70+:

I wanted to try Neutrogena Sport Face Oil-Free Lotion Sunscreen SPF 70+ once again. It has a high SPF (70+), broad spectrum, water resistant (80 minutes), and is very affordable, especially for daily wear. The sunscreen feels a little thick. At the same time, it absorbs and blends into the skin well. It doesn’t leave any white cast behind. This sunscreen is a chemical sunscreen. After a few days of using this sunscreen on my face, I had to stop using it. It didn’t break me out in that short period of time, but it gave me bad headaches. This sunscreen smells like a bunch of chemicals. Kind of like plastic too. I couldn’t tolerate the sunscreen any longer. I stopped using it on my face.

Neutrogena Visibly Even Daily Moisturizer SPF 30:

This sunscreen was once my HG sunscreen. I haven’t been using it much once I switched to another sunscreen (Canmake Mermaid Skin Gel UV SPF 50+ PA++++). I still have a tube or two left. It’s more moisturizing than what I’m using now, but I’m really liking the higher SPF much more. Also, Neutrogena Visibly Even Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 tends to ball up too sometimes. I do miss the brightening effect it had on my freckled skin. It didn’t help fade my freckles but made my overall skin look brighter. Maybe I’ll just use the rest as a moisturizer in the morning. I’m not too big on sunscreens that are SPF 30 since I’ve found other sunscreens that work on my skin that contains a higher SPF.

Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen Stick Sensitive SPF 50+:

I tried using this sunscreen stick on my face. It contains shea butter, coconut oil, candelilla wax, sunflower oil, sunflower seed wax, and other oils and waxes. It’s thick and greasy. It felt very moisturizing on the skin. A little difficult to blend into the skin. Once the product melted, it gets much easier but not by much. I love that it contains 20% Zinc Oxide and doesn’t irritate my eyes, skin, lips, and face. It smells like coconut. Mmmmmmm! But since it’s a mineral sunscreen, it accentuated dry skin all over my face and made them look more apparent. This sunscreen made my overall skin texture look softer and smoother though! It’s just that, I can’t deal with a product that makes my dry skin more obvious. Also, it made my face whiter too. I really wanted this sunscreen to work, but the application was too difficult and the results were poor visually on the skin. I guess I can use this sunscreen stick on other parts of my body.

Kose Suncut UV Perfect Essence Super Waterproof SPF 50+ PA++++:

I really liked the texture of this sunscreen. It’s lightweight, gel-like, smoothing, and glides on the skin oh-so-nicely. It feels cooling on the skin too. Also, it’s SPF 50+ PA++++!! That’s pretty awesome! Unfortunately, this sunscreen contains alcohol (possibly the cooling effect it has on the skin), and it also broke me out. I used the rest of the sunscreen on my body with great results! It’s non-sticky and non-greasy too. It’ll be amazing if this sunscreen worked on my facial skin. Too bad it doesn’t! I most likely won’t purchase again due to it being high priced and comes in a small tube. I have plenty of other options for a body sunscreen that doesn’t cost that much!

If you missed out on my thoughts on Canmake, here it is:

What’s the difference between Blue Lizard Sunscreen Stick Sensitive, Kids, & Baby?

Comment
Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen Stick SPF 50

I’ve been using Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen Stick Sensitive SPF 50+ daily to protect my skin from harmful UV rays in targeted areas, such as my ears and neck. The skin on my neck is so sensitive, and this product works so well for it. I haven’t had any skin irritations or redness from it. No breakouts either. So it looks like everything is working perfectly well. FYI, I’m almost done with my first stick! I feel like I just opened this product! Is it too fast?? I’m finishing it much faster compared to Cetaphil Sheer Mineral Sunscreen Stick Broad Spectrum SPF 50! It’s such a soft, smooth sunscreen stick with SPF 50 (yay for zinc oxide!). Super easy to blend into the skin since it melts very easily and quickly. It’s so easy to apply throughout the day that I haven’t touched my Cetaphil Sheer Mineral Stick since. *sigh* It was my first, one and only for the summer. Maybe I should switch between the two to make things a little more exciting, lol. Just stash one in my desk while I’m working. I’ll get the protection I need all day long, haha.

So when I was purchasing Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen Stick Sensitive SPF 50+, I also noticed they had the Kids and Baby versions. Is there a difference between the Sensitive, Kids, and Baby? Which one do I get? I know I’m not a kid or a baby, but was it made for kids and babies? Is it for skin that’s even more sensitive than the sensitive? Does that make any sense? What’s the difference between the Sensitive, Kids, and Baby? I purchased them all to try them out! I didn’t know which one to choose that’s why. Hmm…

Well…

Here’s the Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen Stick Kids SPF 50…

Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen Stick Kids SPF 50

Now the Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen Stick Baby SPF 50…

Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen Stick Baby SPF 50

You can check out the Sensitive right here: Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen Stick Sensitive SPF 50+

They all look pretty similar besides the Kids have a picture of Cookie Monster and the Baby has a picture of Elmo. Hmm, interesting…Sesame Street is back! In the form of sunblock. I didn’t think that was going to happen but it happened. lol.

But what’s really the difference between the Sensitive, Kids, and Baby??

Alright! I checked the ingredients and guess what? They are all identical. The sunscreens look the same. Maybe the labels (Sensitive, Kids, Baby) is to help people or parents separate the sunscreens, so they’ll use the one labelled kids for their kids and baby for their babies. That’s just a wild guess. I actually don’t know. It looks that way. But, yep, these sunscreens are the same from the looks of it. It doesn’t matter which one you use because you’re getting the same coverage (when applied properly). There’s absolutely no difference (that I can see) besides the labels and photos on the product.

I hope this helpful! Have a nice day! πŸ™‚
