Here are my December skin care empties! ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿป

Cosrx Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask:

I thought I finished my last bottle of Cosrx Ultimate Rice Overnight Spa Mask, but I still have one more left. *sigh* I’ve been using this moisturizer on my body (not my face). My face can’t tolerate this product. I tried it so many times, and it failed each and every time. It’s just not compatible with my skin type no matter how much I want it to be. I love the niacinamide for the brightening effect, but it clogs my pores. This product contains sunflower seed oil, palm oil, and palm kernal oil. My skin hates oils in general. If they made an oil-free one, maybe I’ll give it a try. This moisturizer just didn’t work on my skin as I had hoped.

Coppertone Defend & Care Clear Zinc 50:

I have 2 bottles of Coppertone Defend & Care Clear Zinc 50. I finally finished my first bottle after a year. Don’t worry, it hasn’t expired. I’m using it indoors anyways on my hands (to finish it). For the face, this sunscreen is way too thick, way too white (ghost-like, leaves the skin powdery white), and it’s too heavy on the face for daily use. I tried it on my face before. It clogged my pores. It contains beeswax, which my skin doesn’t like. On the body, it works just fine. But, it does have a sunscreen smell to it that I don’t like. So, either way, I won’t purchase again after I finish my last bottle.

Cosrx Advanced Snail Peptide Eye Cream:

I finally finished my fourth bottle (last one!!) of Cosrx Advanced Snail Peptide Eye Cream! Andddd I won’t purchase it again. It’s a nice moisturizing eye cream, but it didn’t do much for my the skin around my eyes. I can’t tell if it helped to boost radiance, reduce under eye circles, or reduce puffy under eyes. I definitely can say that it didn’t help with fine lines and wrinkles. It just provided good moisture. From my experience and results, that’s all I’ve seen from this product after going through four bottles. It’s time to move on to something else if there is something else out there that works for under eye circles, eye puffiness, fine lines, and wrinkles.

Vanicream Daily Facial Moisturizer for Sensitive Skin:

I finished a bottle of Vanicream Daily Facial Moisturizer for Sensitive Skin this month. It’s a good moisturizer that moisturizes, hydrates, heals, protects, and soothes the skin. But, it didn’t work for me in the end (face). I was using it because I have no other moisturizer, and my skin was feeling flaky and dry. But then I realize how terrible this moisturizer is for my skin. I love that it moisturizes. It really does. I’ve never experienced moisturized skin like this before. It’s just that, this moisturizer clogs my pores. I think it’s the squalane. I can’t even use pure squalane oil without it clogging my pores. Since I have a few left, I’m currently using it as an eye cream and on my neck to use it up.

Purito Centella Green Level Eye Cream:

One tube of Purito Centella Green Level Eye Cream down! One left to go! I’ve gone through plenty of this eye cream to say that it’s a pretty below average eye cream. Even though it contains ingredients like centella asiatica extract (49%), shea butter, peptides, sodium hyaluronate, madecassic acid, panthenol, hydrolyzed collagen, cholesterol, macadamia seed oil, and so much more, it didn’t do anything for my eye area/under eyes. It wasn’t moisturizing enough either. It did absolutely nothing to improve my eyes. In my opinion, this product is overhyped. A good moisturizer does the same thing and comes in a bigger bottle than this 30 mL (1 fl. oz.) eye cream. It’s best to save your money.

Benton Fermentation Eye Cream:

Here’s another eye cream I finished this month! It’s the Benton Fermentation Eye Cream. You know, I’m starting to like this eye cream. It’s thick, creamy, and very moisturizing. Maybe it’s because it’s been colder and I’m losing a lot of moisture from the skin around my eyes. My under eyes are getting really dry, but this eye cream has helped replenish the moisture loss along with my other moisturizing skin care products. This eye cream is very rich. Since the texture and consistency of the product is rich and heavy, it’s a bit difficult to spread. I love how moisturizing it is, but I would like it if it was easier to blend into the skin. I’ll keep using it for the rest of winter and see if I’ll repurchase or not. I currently have 2 tubes left. I think that’s more than enough until next year. One tube lasts for months anyways.

Purito Centella Green Level Buffet Serum:

Unfortunately for me, I purchased a bunch of the Purito Centella Green Level Buffer Serum, lol. I stopped using this serum months ago. I’m glad I did. I haven’t noticed a difference after dropping it from my routine since. My skin doesn’t miss it at all. It has centella asiatica extract (49%), niacinamide, sodium hyaluronate, asiatic acid, madecassic acid, peptides, panthenol, and lots of other beneficial skin care ingredients, but it didn’t do anything for my skin. It provides temporary moisture and soothing effects, but that’s it. I didn’t notice a huge difference in my skin using it. It didn’t make my skin brighter, healthier, or even supple as it claims to do. I guess this serum could work if you’re searching for a basic serum and have sensitive skin. For me, it’s not for me. Seems like a waste of money for something that doesn’t improve my skin over time. It doesn’t really moisturize my skin either.

The Ordinary Matrixyl 10% + HA:

One more The Ordinary Matrixyl 10% + HA down! I did an update on this product not so long ago. I tried using it as an eye serum instead of a facial serum. It didn’t work out. The serum didn’t help with fine lines or wrinkles. It dried my under eyes out and pilled under my other skin care products. It didn’t work underneath sunscreen either. I never saw results with this serum. I just stopped using it anywhere near my face.

The Ordinary Retinol 1% in Squalane:

I haven’t been using The Ordinary Retinol 1% in Squalane on my face. I’ve been using it on my body. This retinol serum clogs my pores (on my face). The other ingredients in this product are not compatible with my skin. It’s just way too oily. I have a few more bottles left of this serum. I’m glad I knocked one out by the end of the year. It’s a very moisturizing retinol serum. It’s gentle on the skin. I can’t tell if it’s doing anything for the skin on my body. I just can’t tell. I don’t have any skin issues on my body besides some dryness once in a blue moon (during the winter). This is another product I’m trying to finish up from The Ordinary, lol.

The Ordinary Ascorbic Acid 8% Alpha Arbutin 2%:

One more The Ordinary serum I finished up this month! I’m officially on my last bottle of The Ordinary Ascorbic Acid 8% Alpha Arbutin 2%. I’m ready to just be done with it. So this serum is still oily and greasy. I love the ingredients in it still. If it doesn’t work on my facial skin, I can’t do anything about it. It clogs my pores and irritates it to no end. I’ve tried it so many times with the same terrible results. It also turns my face orange. I walked around with a bright orange glow to my skin all year round because of this product. ๐Ÿ˜†

The Ordinary 100% L-Ascorbic Acid Powder:

It took me nearly a year to finish a jar of this vitamin c powder. It’s finally done, and I’m not purchasing another one. In my opinion, it’s not worth it. Ascorbic acid powder can be easily purchased at a much more affordable, lower price than what The Ordinary is selling it for. I love the tiny jar that it comes in, and I’m still using it for my antioxidant powders. But, I’m pretty much done with this particular product. Results were mediocre. I didn’t notice that much of a difference in my skin. I’m still trying to fade acne marks. It’s time to try another vitamin c product out!

The Ordinary Pycnogenol 5%:

I finished The Ordinary Pycnogenol 5%! It’s the last bottle too! Yay! No more! The Ordinary Pycnogenol 5% did nothing for my skin but left my skin feeling oily like a whole bunch of other The Ordinary products I’ve used. It’s so oily and greasy. It didn’t do anything for my skin either. It’s supposed to enhance hydration (nope!) and improve elasticity (nope!). Scavenge free radicals and recycle oxidized vitamin c (who knows if it did any of that). I just can’t tell. Is it doing anything?!! I’m over it. I’m glad I’m done with it. I won’t purchase it again. It took me soooo long to finish the last bottle.

It’s been quite a year. December seems to have the most empties. I’m just cleaning out for the new year! ๐Ÿฅณ๐ŸŽ‰ Merry Christmas everyone!!

More Sunscreens I Tried Again for Summer! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

Summer Sunscreens 2021

Here are some more sunscreens that I tested out for summer! They’re sunscreens that I have and wanted to give them a try again. Here are my thoughts on them!

Purito Centella Green Level Safe Sun SPF 50+ PA++++:

I’ve been withholding myself from using this sunscreen. I’m just kidding. It’s been sitting there, and I forgot about it. So I only have a less than a quarter left of this sunscreen, so I decided to use it. Only on my body, not my face. It’s still good to go. I’ve kept it sheltered from the sun and kept it in a safe place. My first impression of this sunscreen is how moisturizing it is on the skin. Loved it! Super ultra moisturizing! The sunscreen feels soft, smooth, and supple on the skin. Very lovely indeed. The sunscreen says it contains SPF 50 PA++++. I believe it’s actually SPF 19 (from what I remember). Yeah, pretty low. I haven’t purchased a Purito sunscreen since after the whole controversy about Purito having the incorrect SPF then what is labelled on the bottle. Oh well. I wore the sunscreen when indoors. As I said earlier, I only had less than a quarter left of the product. The only thing that bothered me besides that it’s only SPF 19 is that it smells like lavender. I can’t see myself wearing this smell on my face every day. It just smells so strong and awful. I’m glad I’m officially done with it. Out it goes!

Differin Oil Absorbing Moisturizer with SPF 30:

I finally finished a whole bottle of Differin Oil Absorbing Moisturizer with SPF 30. I have a few left. haha. I was so ambitious that it would work for my face that I stocked up! Well! I stopped using it on my face and started using it on my body instead. This sunscreen is very moisturizing and lightweight on the skin. It absorbs into the skin well. No issues there! It’s supposed to be fragranced-free, but it smells like a bunch of chemicals. I didn’t like the smell of the product. ๐Ÿคฎ That just reminded me that this sunscreen burned my eyes when I used it on my face! Ouch! As a body sunscreen, it’s nice. I wouldn’t purchase it again once I’m done with my bottles. It only contains SPF 30. I prefer sunscreens that are above SPF 30. It’s quite easy to find a sunscreen with SPF over 30 for the body.

I almost forgot! This moisturizer is not oil-absorbing as advertised!

Cetaphil Sheer Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30:

Here’s another product that I only have a quarter left. I remember using this sunscreen on my face last year and the results were absolutely terrible. The sunscreen is really thick in texture and consistency. It doesn’t glide over the skin smoothly. It takes a good amount of time to blend the sunscreen into the skin. Also, the sunscreen leaves a very noticeable white cast that looks horrible for everyday use. I mean, it was literally impossible to use it in a single day without looking like a ghost. This time, I didn’t use it on my face but my body instead. I can’t imagine using this sunscreen on my face without going through what I went through before. On the body, the sunscreen still feels thick and difficult to blend into the skin. It still left a white cast after applying the sunscreen. The sunscreen smells like chemicals too. The finish actually looks really good on my legs, lol. But, I would not repurchase this sunscreen again. It’s just too much work for an everyday sunscreen. I need something much simpler and easier to use. This sunscreen is a mineral sunscreen with Titanium Dioxide (3%) and Zinc Oxide (10%).

Coppertone Defend & Care Clear Zinc 50:

I have a full bottle of the Coppertone Defend & Care Clear Zinc 50. I didn’t use it on my face. It feels more like a body sunscreen. That’s what I used it for. The sunscreen is a mixed sunscreen with chemical and physical filters. They are Octinoxate 7.5%, Octisalate 4.5%, and Zinc Oxide 9.7%. When I opened the bottle, it smelled like a bunch of chemicals and plastic. I really dislike that smell when it comes to sunscreens. As for the application, it works very well on my skin (body). It blends in well. It didn’t feel too heavy on the skin but not lightweight. I can feel that it’s sitting on my skin. I don’t think it’s too bad. I think this sunscreen is best for beach days. For me, I can’t use it every day. It’s great that it comes in a 6 fl. oz. bottle though!

Cetaphil Sheer Mineral Face Liquid Sunscreen SPF 50:

I really wanted to like this sunscreen, but it’s been a disappointment. It’s a physical sunscreen with 12% Zinc Oxide. It feels very lightweight, since it’s a thin liquid that melts into the skin well. I thought that it would be great considering the texture, how lightweight it feels on the skin, and that it contains Zinc Oxide. But, I didn’t really like this sunscreen. It smells really bad. Like plastic. Once again, I can’t stand products that smell like this because I get really bad migraines from them. Also, I noticed when using this sunscreen that the application can be uneven. My skin looked patchy and dry with it on my face. I think this sunscreen is pretty much hyped up. It’s not that great. Pass.

Banana Boat Ultra Sport Sunscreen Stick Broad Spectrum SPF 50+:

Out of all of the sunscreen sticks I have tried, this one was the most convenient and very easy to use. It glides over the skin easily, blends into the skin well, doesn’t leave a white cast (it’s a chemical sunscreen, by the way), and contains SPF 50+! I love how simple it is to use this sunscreen. It moves over my skin without pulling at my skin. I really love that! Unfortunately, it’s way too sticky and pore-clogging for my facial skin. I ended up using it on my body instead. Still, it felt sticky on the skin. Formulation-wise, I’m not a fan of it. The only thing I like about this sunscreen is that it’s mess-free, portable, and very easy to apply on the spot if I needed a re-application. I most likely won’t purchase it again because it’s not a well-rounded for me in this case.

Review: Coppertone Defend & Care Clear Zinc 50

Comment
Coppertone Defend Care Clear Zinc 50

At the beginning of this summer, I picked up Coppertone Defend & Care Clear Zinc 50 for my body. I was searching for a physical sunscreen for my body, but this was close enough, lol. It’s not a completely physical sunscreen but mixed. It has a combination of physical and chemical filters (Octinoxate 7.5%, Octisalate 4.5%, Zinc Oxide 9.7%). Good enough, I guess. haha. My body isn’t too picky like my face. So the product is called Clear Zinc. I’m assuming the sunscreen should go on clear and not leave a white cast behind. We’ll see about that! It’s water resistant (80 minutes). It doesn’t contain any dyes, PABA, and Oxybenzone. It looks like a basic sunscreen that can be used on beach days. It comes in a 6 fl. oz. bottle. If this was used on the face, I would consider this a good amount of product. On the body, not so much. I’ve seen larger bottles of sunscreen for the body. But let’s try it out! Here’s my experience with Coppertone Defend & Care Clear Zinc 50! โ˜€

This sunscreen goes all the way back to the beginning of this summer. I’ve had it for a while now. Here are my thoughts on it. The product is a gel-cream. It looks like a cream but feels like a gel. It’s gloopy when dispensed from the bottle. I started using this sunscreen on my body first. It feels like a typical sunscreen lotion when applied to the skin. Nothing really stands out about it. I did noticed that the sunscreen tends to leave a slight white cast on my skin. From my experience with this sunscreen, I don’t think it would work on skin that’s tan or darker. I didn’t like it myself even though I’m not tan. I prefer sunscreens that blend into my natural skin tone. With the white cast, it tends to settle into fine lines and creases. Also, it transfers white stains onto clothes, other fabrics, and surfaces as well. This sunscreen isn’t moisturizing, so if you have dry skin, it’ll accentuate the dryness even more. I think it’s just the zinc doing that, lol. The reason why I tend to shy away from mineral-based sunscreens most of the time. They are, in general, drying on the skin. This sunscreen also has a plastic smell to it. It smells like a bunch of chemicals. I didn’t like it. Well, let’s see how it goes for my face. I decided to try it out anyways. It might work better. I can only hope! Read on…

I wasn’t too impressed with the sunscreen on my body, but I decided to try it on my face, since it contained SPF 50. I wanted a higher SPF at that time. I gave it a go regardless of my experience with the sunscreen on my body. haha. Applying the sunscreen to my facial skin was more challenging. The sunscreen is best applied in droplets. When too much is applied to the skin at once, it gets really messy and doesn’t absorb into the skin properly. My face ends up being white due to the white cast it leaves behind. On the face, the product moves around a lot. It’s streaky. It’s hard to tell if I’m applying an even application. Reapplication is just terrible too. The product would just build up and leave a horrible white cast behind on the skin every time I reapply the sunscreen. It looked like I was wearing a mask. It also accentuated dry patches on my skin. The product would settle in places, such as my eyebrows. It turned them white! It eventually dried out my skin so bad in the end making fine lines and wrinkles look more prominent. Also, the smell of the product gave me headaches. I can’t imagine having this product on my face daily. It smells so awful. The strong fumes irritated my eyes. They became so teary and red. And yes, this sunscreen broke me out. I developed closed comedones. It was pretty scary. Another product that sits on top of my skin and clogs my pores. There’s just too many of them!

After this experience, it looks like this sunscreen is better off used as a body sunscreen. But I really wanted it to work on my face! It’s SPF 50 with zinc and comes in a 6 fl. oz. bottle. It would’ve been awesome if it did! But, nope, it didn’t work. Now let’s look at the ingredient list real quick! Just at a glance, it contains beeswax. My skin hates that stuff, but I had to try it out anyways. Next time, I won’t. It’s an ingredient that I am going to stay away from. Well! The rest of the sunscreen goes on my body. Never on my face ever again!

This is what Coppertone Defend & Care Zinc 50 looks like! Just your typical beach sunscreen.

Coppertone Defend Care Clear Zinc 50

โœ… Pros

โŒ Cons

Another big bottle of sunscreen that didn’t work on my face, but my body does ok with it. It irritated my facial skin terribly. It dried out my skin, left a white cast behind (looked like I was wearing a mask!!), burned my eyes, and made fine lines and wrinkles more prominent. Also, I developed closed comedones while using this product. Yuck! It’s a decent sunscreen for the body. Just not for the face. But it’s not for me. I didn’t like it at all. The smell of this product is such a huge turn off. I can’t put up with it. It gave me bad headaches. And I read so many good reviews on it. All lies! I won’t purchase again. Moving on and on to the next best thing!
