Is Dairy Ruining My Skin?
Nov. 25, 2019Leave a comment
After talking about my new skin care routine, I was wondering if dairy could be another culprit that’s giving me acne. I recently switched from a vegan diet to a vegetarian diet. A vegetarian diet that consists of eggs and dairy products. I have noticed that my skin is looking different too. The texture and condition of my skin just reacts differently to my skincare and makeup. It’s not as smooth anymore. My skin has been a little bit more oily too. These are just observations.
I came up with a plan. Here it is.
I’m going to stick to my current skin care routine for a week, which only consists of two skin care products — face wash and an acne treatment. If my skin doesn’t change along with consuming dairy, then I’ll know that dairy is indeed causing issues for me. I have been thinking about going back to being vegan or cutting dairy out of my diet. Hmmm. Let’s see what happens after a week. Only time will tell.

1 Week Results: Drinking Healthy Green Smoothies
Aug. 13, 2018Leave a comment
This is what I ate this morning. I made a bowl of oatmeal with strawberries, almonds, and hemp seeds. I also added a little bit of extra virgin organic coconut oil and sprinkled some pink himalayan sea salt on top. It adds a coconut-y and salty flavor to the boring oatmeal bowl. Mmm! I love it. I think this must be the best bowl of oatmeal yet!
Do you like oatmeal? If so, check out how to make a bowl of oatmeal here.
With my bowl of oatmeal, I had a healthy green smoothie. Today’s green smoothie was filled to the brim!

Honestly, best breakfast ever!!
1 Week of Drinking Green Smoothies Results:
I’ve been drinking healthy green smoothies for 1 week. Once a day. Every single day. I usually have it in the morning with my breakfast. It helps me start the day on the right foot! I’m really trying my best to be good on my diet and eat as healthy as possible. So far, I’ve noticed that my complexion has improved. My skin is improving slowly. Well, at least I can see that it’s going in the right direction! Also, my hair feels softer and smoother. Less hair fall out. I want my hair to grow longer before the new year. Yeah, I’ve already planned that far. If you look at the calendar, that’s only about 4.5 months away! I will still be getting trims here and there to keep my ends clean. My nails have been growing so much faster too! Wow, it’s working better than a hair, skin, and nails vitamin supplement! That’s great! My results after one week has been exactly what I’ve been looking for! I’m looking forward to continuing the second week of drinking green smoothies!
So over the weekend, I went out to purchase some groceries for this week’s green smoothies. By the end of last week, I ran out of bananas. I ended up using raspberries instead. It turned out good, but I’m so much in love with bananas in my green smoothies. How about you? Do you have a preference?
I picked up some fruit and vegetables. Here we have, bananas and strawberries. Both are inexpensive and can be incorporated easily into any smoothie you desire. Bananas are a fave of mine because of that. Possibly the cheapest fruits out there. It blends so well into green smoothies!
Next, we have bags of greens. I chose Spring Mix (Baby Lettuce, Baby Greens, Radicchio). The flavor is very light. Not bitter. This mix is highly recommend for people that have trouble eating greens like Kale and Arugula. The Spring Mix is my ultimate fave.
I picked up Baby Spinach to spice things up a little bit. I used to like spinach, but my taste buds have changed. I’m trying to slowly incorporate spinach back into my diet. Hopefully, I end up liking it. Spinach is very good for health!
I should’ve picked up more bags of greens. I’m almost done with my Spring Mix bag, lol. Keep in mind that these fruits and vegetables are not organic. You can always buy organic if you want. I usually just buy whatever is on sale.
How do you like your green smoothie? What do you put in it?
