Don’t Eat Dairy if You Want Clear Skin

I wrote a post on dairy & acne in November. That feels like a year ago. Time sure goes by quick! šŸ™‚ So after a couple of months, I ditched my vegetarian diet because of my love for animals. ā™„ The thought of consuming animal by-products made me want to vomit. I’m not even joking. I felt sick to my stomach thinking about it. It got to the point where I couldn’t stand the smell of eggs and dairy. When I stopped eating eggs and dairy, I started to feel better as the days went on. I initially went back to vegan because I didn’t want to contribute to the suffering of animals, but I noticed something else. That was MY SKIN! My skin became less oily. The texture of it changed too. It smoothed out. I usually get a couple of pimples when I go without applying acne cream, but I didn’t. I recently went a week without treating my skin with acne cream, and my skin didn’t react negatively. It got better. My skin remained clear and bright! Since my skin improved, I go without makeup most days of the week. Sometimes, I even go without makeup for weeks! I haven’t changed my diet at all besides eliminating eggs and dairy. So I’m not drinking tons of green smoothies or anything like that. It’s pretty much the same as when I was a vegetarian (just without the eggs and dairy). What else can I say? I’m happy. šŸ™‚ My experience on ditching eggs and dairy has been a positive one. Looking back at my vegan years, my skin was pretty clear compared to my vegetarian years. I’d say vegans have the upper hand when it comes to having beautiful skin. šŸ˜Š What’s not to love? Clear skin, saving animals, caring for the environment, good health, having luxurious hair too! I remember I mentioned that my hair is growing out faster than ever! It still is. šŸ„° If you want clear, acne-free skin, cut out eggs and dairy. Go vegan! šŸ·šŸŒŽšŸƒšŸ»ā€ā™€ļøā™„

Is Dairy Ruining My Skin?

After talking about my new skin care routine, I was wondering if dairy could be another culprit that’s giving me acne. I recently switched from a vegan diet to a vegetarian diet. A vegetarian diet that consists of eggs and dairy products. I have noticed that my skin is looking different too. The texture and condition of my skin just reacts differently to my skincare and makeup. It’s not as smooth anymore. My skin has been a little bit more oily too. These are just observations.

I came up with a plan. Here it is.

I’m going to stick to my current skin care routine for a week, which only consists of two skin care products — face wash and an acne treatment. If my skin doesn’t change along with consuming dairy, then I’ll know that dairy is indeed causing issues for me. I have been thinking about going back to being vegan or cutting dairy out of my diet. Hmmm. Let’s see what happens after a week. Only time will tell.
