November Skin Care Empties ๐Ÿฆƒ

Kose Suncut UV Perfect Essence SPF 50

I didn’t have any empties last month (October). Here are my skin care empties for the month of November! If you missed out on my empties for August and September ๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿป

SOME BY MI Niacin 30 Days Miracle Brightening Sleeping Mask:

I’ve been trying to finish my last jar of SOME BY MI Niacin 30 Days Miracle Brightening Sleeping Mask. I tried using it on my face and body. My experience using it on my face was not that good. The sleeping mask feels very drying on the skin. I could see the skin along my chin cracking. It’s not a good product if you have dry skin. I don’t. I have oily skin, and this sleeping mask dried my skin out like crazy. It helped to temporarily brighten my skin, but the brightening effect faded within a week. Maybe my skin just doesn’t like niacinamide in this product? I just know that it’s very drying and made my skin feel awful. With the rest of the product, I used it on my body and won’t repurchase ever again.

Kose Suncut UV Perfect Essence Super Waterproof SPF 50+ PA++++:

This sunscreen is lightweight, blends into the skin easily, absorbs quick, has SPF 50+ PA++++, comes in a 110 mL bottle instead of something tiny like 40-50 mL (yes!!!), sweat-resistant, water-proof. Ah, how this sunscreen could’ve been perfect because I can overapply and my skin wouldn’t feel sticky or greasy. But, this sunscreen lists ‘ethanol’ as the second ingredient on the list. It smells like alcohol and dried my skin out and irritated it. I couldn’t believe how my skin looked so aged after using it at least once. Sun protection is important, but this product is not for me if it makes my skin look all wrinkly because of how drying and irritating it is. I won’t purchase again. By the way, I also tried it on my body and hands. It made my skin super itchy. I ended up with a bad rash and blisters.

Dear, Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop:

This vitamin c serum feels gentle on the skin. It contains 5% ascorbic acid. The serum didn’t irritate or burn my face. But I wasn’t a fan of the texture of the product. It’s on the oily side. As for fading acne marks, I didn’t see much results using this serum. It didn’t help to brighten my complexion either. Maybe the 5% concentration is just too low for my skin? All I know is that I didn’t see any results while using it. So I wasn’t able to use the whole bottle, the serum turned really orange. It oxidized. Hmmm, note to self, never purchase a vitamin c serum that claims to be formulated with stabilized vitamin c that comes in a clear, see-through bottle. It’s clearly not stabilized. It turned really orange, and I kept it in a dark, safe place. I had to toss the serum out. Not recommended.

Vanicream Mineral Facial Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30:

This is a moisturizer with sunscreen. It feels like a moisturizer. It’s thick, rich, and feels heavy on the skin. I have oily skin, so it felt very rich and heavy on my skin. It left my skin looking more shiny and greasy on the surface, but it helped to moisturize and soothed my skin. I don’t think this is a bad product. It’s just that, it’s only SPF 30, and I’m using another product that contains similar ingredients to the Vanicream that works better for me. This product works to moisturize and protect. It’s not something I need in my life right now. It was nice to try it out.

CeraVe Hydrating Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 Face Sheer Tint:

One of the products I finished this month that I really like! It contains ingredients like ceramides and niacinamide. The sunscreen moisturizes my skin and helps to brighten my skin up. I haven’t noticed any breakouts using it. I’m still keeping my eye out for any clogged pores just in case! Some things I would love to change about this product is to boost the SPF 30 to 50, make it water/sweat-resistant, and add more shades. The shade isn’t a perfect match for my skin. It does blend into the skin, but I wish it wasn’t too orangey. I wish it was a more natural-looking skin color. As for reapplication, it’s really easy to reapply sunscreen with this product. There’s no white cast. This sunscreen comes in a 1.7 fl. oz. (50 mL) tube. It would be nice if it was larger, especially for the price. It’s 13.99 where I am. It’s not super affordable compared to other sunscreens I have tried.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Lotion Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50:

I figured out that I still had a bottle of the SPF 50. I found it in my bag, lol. And it’s still usable and hasn’t expired yet. I didn’t use it on my face. It’s not the type of product for my facial skin. So I used it on my hands instead. The sunscreen absorbed into my skin very well and quickly. The fragrance was awful. I didn’t like it at all. Since I didn’t use it on my face, I didn’t have to worry about the alcohol content in this product. I used this sunscreen up and threw it out. I won’t repurchase. I hope this is the last Neutrogena Hydro Boost sunscreen that I have, haha!

Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop

Since I’m halfway done with Yeouth Vitamin C & E Serum (review here), I decided to give a vitamin c serum with a lower concentration of ascorbic acid a shot. I chose what I have, lol. It’s Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop. The good reviews are getting to me! It should work! So Dear Klairs contains 5% ascorbic acid. I’ve been using it on my body for about 4 months (moving on to 5 months soon) after using it on my facial skin for a few weeks. Even after nearing 5 months, I still have a lot of product left. This stuff seems to last forever, lol. The serum is still clear. It hasn’t oxidized one bit. Maybe it’s not too bad after all? Hmm. Since it only contains 5% ascorbic acid, it should be less irritating compared to the higher concentrations that I have. My skin is feeling a bit sensitive right now but not too sensitive. I’m looking for something that isn’t too strong but effective enough to give me some results. My skin is looking kind of dull and lifeless. I need something to make it glow. So I thought I would give this vitamin c serum another chance. Here’s my experience with Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop once again. haha.

Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop is exactly how it was before. The serum feels oily on the skin, which scared me a bit. I continued to use it regardless. I had hope that it could work. Everything went well the first night. Since my skin felt a bit dry, the oiliness of the serum wasn’t too bad. It actually left my skin feeling hydrated. It smoothed over my skin nicely. And I really liked how it felt on my skin. At that moment, I really thought it could work out in the end. The next morning, I enjoyed using the serum. It helped keep my skin lightly hydrated as much as it can. It’s not the most hydrating feeling, but it was nice to have something new in my routine that moisturizes my skin just a little bit. And this serum did just that. I didn’t have any issues with it until nighttime. I looked at my skin and noticed large pores on my forehead and nose. I also noticed some blackheads on my forehead. I rarely ever get blackheads in that location unless a product is breaking me out. So! I stopped using Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop right then and there.

Yep, Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop broke me out. I’m really happy that I caught it before the breakouts went nuts. I usually keep using products until I know it’s the problem (or I just have too much faith that it might work!). But this time, I just stopped using it because I didn’t have these breakouts before I started to use the serum again. Well, it looks like this serum causes my skin to break out in acne. Honestly, I really thought it could work this time around. I took a look at the ingredients beforehand and afterwards. But, you know, sometimes I just try out products even though it contains an ingredient that I know is pore-clogging or could potentially clog pores. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Unfortunately, this vitamin c serum didn’t work. So, this vitamin c serum contains Bacillus/Soybean/Folic Acid Ferment Extract. It’s a fermented ingredient. I’ve used fermented ingredients before that broke me out. Benton Fermentation Essence is one of them. It doesn’t contain the same fermented ingredients (galactomyces, bifida) as Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop, but the breakouts look very similar. It’s just a thought. Maybe my skin can’t handle fermented ingredients.

Looks like the second time isn’t a charm. I’m going to have to let this vitamin c serum go. It didn’t work for me.

Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop

After contemplating if I should pick up a bottle of Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop, I finally did. I’ve been meaning to grab one of these bottles since forever! Yay! Now I have one. ๐Ÿ™‚ This vitamin c essence comes in a clear bottle. I was caught a little off guard by the packaging. Vitamin c products should be in a dark bottle to protect it from oxidation. On the bottle it does state that this vitamin c product in particular contains stabilized l-ascorbic acid. I was a bit skeptical, but I thought I would give it a try anyways, since it had good reviews. It contains vitamin c at a concentration of 5%. It’s very mild compared to other vitamin c products I have used. Let’s see if it works! Here are my thoughts on Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop!

This is a vitamin c essence. It comes in a 35 mL (1.18 fl. oz.) bottle with a dropper. Yes, that is a clear bottle that you see. The essence is lightweight and absorbs into the skin very well, but it leaves residue behind. It feels a little oily on my skin. After using it for 2 weeks (that’s all I could do for this serum, keep reading!), I didn’t see a brighter complexion or a reduction in acne scars. I didn’t see any changes in my skin. There was no difference at all. I stopped using it because of this and mainly for other reasons. I don’t like products that leave residue on my skin or make my skin feel oily. It irritates my skin and can cause breakouts. I’ve noticed that my skin reacts to products that leave a film behind on my skin. It’s better to safe than sorry. The vitamin c essence comes in a clear bottle. I tried to like it, but I couldn’t. It’s best to purchase vitamin c products in dark bottles just to be safe (even though they claim that this vitamin c contains stabilized l-ascorbic acid). On the box of the product, it goes on to say to store the product in a cool, dry place away from sunlight in order to avoid discoloration. That pure vitamin c may be responsive to oxidation. Um, yeah. Also, this vitamin c has a long list of ingredients. It has a lot of extracts and a few essential oils. I think that’s too much for me. I would much prefer a vitamin c essence or serum that is minimal. Something that is more simple. I stopped using it because of those reasons. It didn’t live up to my expectations. It’s just not the vitamin c product for me.

โœ… Pros

โŒ Cons

I really wanted to like Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop. There were a few aspects about it that I didn’t like. It came in a clear bottle, but I just had to try it out because it’s been talked about so much. haha! Well, as for results, it didn’t do anything for my skin (face). My skin didn’t look brighter. My acne scars didn’t fade. Nothing. Maybe I have to use it much longer to see results. BUT I did continue to use it on my body, and I didn’t see any results either. No brightening effect. Rubbed it into a few scars to see if it works. Haven’t noticed a difference. It’s been almost 4 months using it too. I’m just trying to use it up at this point. After finishing it, I most likely won’t purchase again. But on the bright side, my bottle hasn’t darken. I did place my Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop in a dark area away from sunlight. Also, mine has lasted for 4 months. And it looks like it’ll last for a few more months too. I’m using it every day. I think this vitamin c product would work better for someone with normal or dry skin if they don’t mind the clear bottle and if they see results from it. It feels a bit oily on the skin.
