Review: Burt’s Bees Cleansing Oil Balm
My review on the Burt’s Bees Cleansing Oil Balm. 🙂
About Burt’s Bees Cleansing Oil Balm:
- With Antioxidant-Rich Green Tea
- Melts away makeup and detoxifies to reveal supple, glowing skin
- Ingredients from nature
- No animal testing
- Responsible sourcing
This cleansing balm comes in a 3 oz jar. The balm is similar to the coloring of the packaging. A greenish hue (see photo below). It has an herbal scent to it. The balm is soft to touch. I thought it would melt fully in my palm, but it didn’t. There were tiny little chunks where I had to rub them a little more to melt. This one is on the balmy and oily side (it says cleansing oil balm on the container). It removes my foundation, eyeliner, eyeshadow, but I had some trouble removing my mascara with this cleansing balm, which is surprising. It doesn’t melt the mascara right off. That was disappointing because mascara is the most difficult makeup to remove (to me). I love cleansing balms, but this one isn’t for me. I won’t purchase it again.
This is what it looks like. Mine had bubbles in it that I couldn’t resist poking at. They left holes behind, lol. I was expecting more of a softer appearance to the balm.

Review: Olay Scrubs 5 in 1 Clean Detoxifying Vitamin C + Black Charcoal
Here’s another facial scrub I have from Olay. It’s the Olay Scrubs 5 in 1 Clean Detoxifying Vitamin C + Black Charcoal. The last Olay face scrub was very disappointing. This face scrub, on the other hand, was pretty impressive. It works as a face wash and a face scrub in one. The thing is, it doesn’t aggravate the skin. It leaves the skin feeling clean while gently removes dead skin cells from the skin. It leaves my skin feeling much cleaner than my Trader Joe’s Tea Tree Face Wash. I’m not even kidding. Is it better? Could be. I don’t know. Trader Joe’s Tea Tree Face Wash has been so good to me that I dont want to stray. Also, Trader Joe’s is a cruelty-free and vegan skin care product. I prefer to keep it that way. I really liked using Olay Scrubs 5 in 1 Clean Detoxifying Vitamin C + Black Charcoal though. I love that clean feeling afterwards since I have oily skin. This face scrub is supposed to brighten the skin. Sorry, my skin didn’t get brighter from using it. Would I recommend it? Yep. Give it a try if you’re into Olay skin care products. Still, it doesn’t beat my Acure Brightening Face Scrub. 😛 Acure is too cruelty-free and vegan (like Trader Joe’s).
