I love chia seeds in my smoothies and protein shakes. I’ve been using it daily in my green smoothies (now green protein smoothies). I can’t wait to start this new bag of chia seeds today! It has about 76 servings per bag. This should last me a little over 2 months or so with consistent use. I find chia seeds really good at keeping me full for hours, which is great for weight loss. 5 Health Foods to Add to Your Diet

Let's go on a date!

Let’s go on a date!

Let’s rewind back to August! Here are the top 5 Health Foods I loved in the month of August. They are not in any particular order. Enjoy! 🤤

#1. Bard Valley Natural Delights Medjool Dates:

I absolutely love dates! They are the perfect pre-workout food. Ever since I reintroduced dates back into my diet, I’ve been eating 1-2 pieces of dates right before my workouts, and it seems to be working. My workouts have been more intense and energizing. I feel amazing! Sometimes, I eat them as a quick snack too when I want something sweet and healthy. Dates make a very fulfilling snack. A few pieces of dates fill my belly up fast. People may not think that dates are fulfilling due to the high sugar content, but that’s untrue. They are super satisfying. Dates are a good source of fiber and minerals. I would love to add dates into my green smoothies and protein shakes. Of course, after I finish my new batch of bananas! You all know by now that I’m madly in love with bananas! 🍌

Here are my bananas for the week. 😎

About to make my protein smoothie.

Bard Valley Natural Delights Medjool Dates are pretty good, but I don’t have a preference (yet) on brands. They seem to be the only option for me right now. That’s why I chose them. I would love to try out other brands in the near future! Want to try Bard Valley Natural Delights Medjool Dates? Go here.

#2. Trader Joe’s Organic Pea Protein Powder Unsweetened:

Trader Joe’s Organic Pea Protein Powder Unsweetened

Trader Joe’s Organic Pea Protein Powder Unsweetened makes it to the top of my list of protein powders to buy. This pea protein powder is awesome! Once I became acquainted to the taste of it, the aftertaste didn’t bother me much anymore. It’s like it’s not even there. I’ve been incorporating this pea protein powder almost every day in my healthy green smoothies. I didn’t think it would blend in my green smoothies appropriately. Well, that could be far from the truth. I can’t believe the pea protein powder blends oh-so-perfectly into my green smoothies! The pea protein powder is sooo soft and smooth. I get really excited whenever I use this protein powder, lol. Next time when I’m at Trader Joe’s, I’m going to purchase the one in Vanilla to try out to see if it’s any similar to the Unsweetened. Have you tried out the Unsweetened or Vanilla? Share your thoughts with me.

Remember my Garden of Life Raw Organic Protein in Chocolate? Yeah, I was using it until I fell in love with Trader Joe’s Organic Pea Protein Powder. 😍

#3. Archer Farms Unsalted Raw Almonds:

I never mentioned which brand of almonds I purchased. It is Archer Farms, which can be found at Target. This brand isn’t a favorite of mine when it comes to nuts, but it’s affordable for a whole container! It does go on sale once in a while too. That’s a bonus! It fits perfectly into my grocery shopping budget. Also, it’s very good for you, so it’s definitely worth the buy. Raw almonds provide healthy fats (monounsaturated fat) and lots of minerals to boot! They make a healthy, great snack when you’re hungry and on-the-go!

#4. Trader Joe’s Organic Chia Seed:

I’ve had Trader Joe’s Organic Chia Seed for about 2 weeks already. I’ve been using it almost every single day at a nice pace. I started off with just 1 tablespoon then worked my way up to 2 tablespoons. I haven’t used 3 tablespoons yet. I think the consistency would be too thick for my liking. If you look at the photo above, I’m so close to being done with this bag of chia seeds! Trader Joe’s Organic Chia Seed isn’t bad at all. It works. Whenever I’m out of chia seeds and at Trader Joe’s at the same time, I’ll be sure to add this to my shopping cart.

Chia seeds are a good form of plant-based omega-3 fatty acids. Lots of fiber and protein. If you’re trying to lose weight, I highly recommend adding chia seeds to your diet! It’s a win-win situation.

#5. Spring Mix Vegetables:

My Healthy Green Smoothie

Green vegetables are a staple in my diet. I eat them every day. I make sure I consume them too. It’s good for the health. It’s good for the skin. Have acne? Can’t get rid of acne? Change your diet for the better. Stop eating so much junk food. Natural foods are better for you. Try drinking green smoothies. I’ve been drinking green smoothies for 1 month now, and my skin has improved so much ever since I’ve made this into a habit. Do not rely on skin care products to improve your complexion. They are simply just a cherry on top. I’ve done that before, and it was a constant battle with acne for several years. In the long run, it doesn’t last. Health and beauty comes from the inside first. When you take care of your body, it will show on the outside. This is a fact.

Here are my greens for the week! 💚
