Review: Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay

Here’s my review on Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay! I’ve been meaning to do a full review on this face mask for the longest time! So this is a bentonite clay mask. It’s very beneficial for acne, oily skin. I usually lean towards clay masks, since I have acne, oily skin. For the past months, I’ve been experimenting with different types of masks. Obviously, the ones that are meant for oily skin works the best for me. lol.

This is what it looks like. Open container.

The instructions states that the green powder can be mixed with raw apple cider vinegar. I haven’t tried it yet. I might in the near future. I’ve been mixing it with water. It works. π I mentioned in my last short review that this face mask was beneficial for my oily skin and acne. It is. My skin looks and feels less oily after using it. It helped dry up active pimples. It makes my skin feel nice afterwards every time I use it. It doesn’t dry my skin out at all. That’s quite a shocker because it removes excess oil and makes my skin feel tighter. It kind of reminds me of Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask — back in the days when it was very popular! Maybe it’s because they are both green. As for results, Aztec is way better than Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask. I never liked the minty smell of Queen Helene. I didn’t notice too much of a difference in my skin when using Queen Helene either, while with Aztec I do. There’s only ONE ingredient in Aztec. It is 100% Natural Calcium Bentonite (Green Clay). Queen Helene had a bunch of other ingredients besides bentonite from what I remember. There is a downside when it comes to using Aztec. Whenever I remove the mask off of my face, it doesn’t wash down the basin easily. It sticks to the side of the basin and floats around in chunks. BUT, that hasn’t stopped me from using this face mask. That’s just a heads up if you decide to try it out yourself. Overall, I enjoy it. My skin likes it. I use it 2 times a week after a facial steam. π

Vitamin C, Retinol, Hyaluronic Acid + Fitness Stuff

From left to right, I have…
- Cosmedica Pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum
- LilyAna Naturals Vitamin C Serum
- LilyAna Naturals Retinol Cream
I purchased these skin care products to include in my skin care routine. I have hyaluronic acid, vitamin c, and retinol. All of these ingredients are beneficial for the skin. I’ve already started using them. Just in a few days, I’ve seen a huge improvement in the texture of my skin. It’s amazing!!
I was using a hyaluronic acid serum called Trader Joe’s Hyaluronic Moisture Boost Serum, but I had to switch to something else. Trader Joe’s Hyaluronic Acid Moisture Boost serum is a pretty popular hyaluronic acid skin care product. The reason why I wanted something else is because Trader Joe’s felt too sticky on my skin and somewhat drying. It didn’t help hydrate my skin during the winter. My skin still felt dry. Winter is coming up right around the corner too.
The texture of Trader Joe’s Hyaluronic Moisture Boost Serum was more like a gel rather than a liquid-gel (what I really wanted). Yes, there is a difference between the two. I wanted something inbetween a liquid and gel. Not too gel-like and not too runny. Also, I wanted a serum that sinks into the skin much easier. The tacky, sticky feel of Trader Joe’s Hyaluronic Moisture Serum didn’t do it for me after a couple of bottles. I think I’m on my fourth one? I’ve lost count, lol.

Since I’ve already started using Cosmedica Pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum, this is what I think about it so far. My opinions might change with continued usage. So far, I like it. It’s more moisturizing than my previous hyalruonic acid serum. The texture of the serum is exactly what I was looking for. It’s gel-like, but it’s liquid at the same time. That makes it easier to spread across the face. The product does come in a dropper bottle, which can be annoying, but it doesn’t bother me as much as I thought it would. All you do is dispense a few drops into your palm and pat it into your skin. That’s it. Hydrated skin. Instant moisture! I am not advertising this product. I bought it with my own money. Stay tuned for a full review when I’m at least halfway through the bottle! I hope it does the job!
LilyAna Naturals Vitamin C Serum

I used LilyAna Naturals Vitamin C Serum before. This is my third bottle after I took a break. When I was using this serum, I was also using oils on my skin. It could’ve been the oils that made me breakout instead of the serum. I’ve been using LilyAna Naturals Vitamin C Serum, and I have yet developed a pimple. This actually makes me very happy. It’s because this Vitamin C Serum truly does work to brighten the skin. Same as the Cosmedica Pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum, it comes in a dropper bottle. Take it or leave it.

I’ve used LilyAna Naturals Retinol Cream before too. The thing with this skin care product is that I can’t use it on my face. It’s pore clogging. It contains ingredients that are known to clog pores. What I do is use it as an eye cream, which works amazingly! That is the sole reason why I purchased LilyAna Naturals Retinol Cream again. I loved how it decreased fine lines around my eyes. Retinol is an awesome ingredient to have in a skin care routine. I used to use prescription retinoids, and they helped with my acne + made my skin look younger. I’m on the lookout for a good retinol face cream. π
BONUS

I too purchased more protein bars! S’mores isn’t my favorite flavor from Orgain, but it was the only one that was on sale. To be honest, it’s not too bad. It’s edible. These make good, healthy snacks inbetween meals, or if I need a quick breakfast (at least to hold me over until I eat a full breakfast).

This is what S’mores look like. It’s not the most pleasant protein bar. For 140 calories and 10 grams of protein, it’s not too shabby. Better than an unhealthy chocolate bar, right? π
