My Updated Skin Care Routine
Apr. 28, 2019Leave a comment
It’s time for a skin care update! It’s been quite some time since I’ve posted anything about my skin care routine! Here we go! 🙂
When I wake up in the morning, I use Trader Joe’s Spa Face Wash with Tea Tree Oil. This face wash right here. I’m sure I’ve mentioned it several times before.
This is the best face wash I’ve used in my lifetime. It beats all of the other face washes I’ve used in the past! I highly recommend it if you have oily, acne-prone skin. It removes dirt and oil. It tames oily skin. Love!! By the way, it’s vegan. 😊😍 Even though I like it, I wouldn’t depend on it alone to get rid of acne. It’s good at doing what it’s supposed to do — cleanses without stripping essential oils from the face.
I am not using the Clarisonic Mia Prima Facial Brush any longer. It didn’t work out for me. What did work out for me is using Acne.org BP Treatment Gel! So I’m back to using Acne.org BP Treatment Gel. This right here:
I’ve used this stuff soo many times before. The first time I used it, it worked. I tried it again and again over the years with hits and misses. I decided to give it a go once again to see if it’ll work again. This time, I’m not just spot treating. I’m applying the gel to my whole face but only at night. The gel takes too long to absorb into my facial skin in the morning, and I don’t have time for that. It seems to be working! 😊 Ever since I started using the BP Treatment Gel, I’ve introduced jojoba oil back into my skin care routine.
But, I don’t use jojoba oil everyday. It’s only when my skin becomes dry from the BP. Once the dryness goes away, I stop using it. I can’t use it every day. I ended up with clogged pores. I love the way it makes my skin feel…but not everyone’s skin can tolerate it…
For an eye cream, I use LilyAna Naturals Retinol Cream. I haven’t introduced this skin care product yet. I’ll talk more about it later on. Yes, it’s a vegan skin care product. I’ve been trying my best to purchase only vegan skin care products. At the moment, all of my skin care products ARE VEGAN!
I don’t have a sunblock at the moment. SHAME ON ME!! ha! By the way, I was using Differin Oil-Control Moisturizer with SPF 30. It turns out the Differin sunblock was breaking me out. My skin is prone to acne, and it’s better for me to use less products on my skin (this includes makeup too). You will see later on when I talk about my makeup routine.
So, that’s all I really use on my facial skin. I stopped using a lot of skin care products because they weren’t doing any good to my skin. I try my best to stay out of the sun. I don’t think sunblock was really protecting my skin anyways. My skin has been forming freckles for the past years with sunblock on + staying out of the sun most of the time. No joke, lol. I don’t think that’s an entirely a bad thing, since I’ve recieved tons of compliments on them. In the meantime, I’ll be on the look out for a good sunblock and do my best to stay out of the sun.
That is my skin care routine. Tell me about yours! Next up, my new eye cream and my makeup routine. 😊

Acure Brightening Glowing Serum. Does it Work?
Mar. 21, 2019Leave a comment
Hi! I’ve been using Acure Brightening Glowing Serum for about 6 months. I stumbled upon this serum when I was searching for a natural, moisturizng, and brightening skin care product for my facial skin. I’ve also used other Acure beauty products before, so I thought I would give this one a try too.
About Acure Brightening Glowing Serum
- For all skin types
- 100% vegan
- Paraben free
- Sulfate free
- Mineral oil free

The purpose of Acure Brightening Glowing Serum is to restore moisture with Argan Oil, soothe with borage oil, add antioxidant protection with cranberry and pumpkin.
The ingredients on the bottle only says with argan oil, pumpkin, & cranberry. Those are the main ingredients they are advertising. On the package, it states that it contains safflower seed oil, sesame seed oil, pumpkin seed oil, borage seed oil, argan oil, sweet orange peel oil, cranberry seed oil, lavender oil, olive fruit oil, and rosemary oil (in that order, as shown in the photo).
Does the serum work?
Since I’ve been using it for 6 months, I can give a thourough review on Acure Brightening Glowing Serum. 😊 Acure Brightening Glowing Serum calls itself a serum, but it really isn’t one. It’s more of an oil. Just look at the ingredients! It’s full of oils, and it feels like it! It’s not too greasy. It’s lightweight and absorbs into the skin good enough. It does leave the skin looking a tad shiny, but I wasn’t bothered by it.
The serum is natural. It’s organic. It’s vegan. And YES! It makes the skin appear brighter! It makes the skin look glowy. So, it works to even out the complexion. It also made my skin feel extra soft and smooth. It’s moisturizing. For months, I couldn’t believe I had found THE ONE! I continued to use it consistently twice a day, everyday.
Just a reminder, I do have acne-prone skin that gets shiny. Unfortunately, I couldn’t use it anymore when I noticed that the offender to my clogged pores was because of the serum. It didn’t give me cystic acne, but made me develop tiny hard sebum inside of my pores. I had to give it up ASAP. Even though I loved the results, I couldn’t bare developing acne again.
So what happened when I stopped using the serum? I stopped developing clogged pores (yay!). My skin became dull and dry. 😢 Really, this serum works and does what it’s supposed to do. If you have dry, normal skin that doesn’t breakout, this is a good skin care product to go to. I would use it if I didn’t have acne-prone skin. When I was using this serum, I didn’t have to use any other skin care products. It took care of all of my skin care needs (eye cream, spots on the face, hydration, all-in-one!). Also, it was really good at moisturizing my eyelashes too! My lashes looked longer!!
Since this product didn’t work for me, I’ll have to search for something (which I already have when I stopped using it). Stay tuned for my update on what skin care products I’m using now. 😊– Jen
