I Lost 2 lbs in 2 Weeks (No BS)
Aug. 16, 2018Leave a comment
Before I begin, I’ve been struggling to lose weight for years. I’m by no means obese, but I can get somewhat chubby if I don’t take care of myself appropriately. To achieve this goal, I had to make a change in my life. First, I had to make a plan and figure out how to get there. You might say, “Well, it’s easy. Just eat less and exercise more.” You see, it’s actually not that simple. If it were, I wouldn’t have this problem in the first place. Today, I’ll share what I’ve been doing to lose that extra flab. It’s so much more than eat less and exercise more.
So, I’ve been on mainly a Whole Foods Diet for 2 weeks. I’m very happy to say that I have lost 2 lbs within these 2 weeks! I believe that’s a pretty normal pace to lose weight. About 0.5-1 lb a week if you’re dedicated enough. For some, 2 lbs. I think losing 2 lbs a week is too much for me. It sounds exciting, but that’s too rapid for me. At the steady pace I’m going, I feel healthy and happy. That I’m not putting too much stress on my body to lose weight. Just a couple more pounds to go! So, how did I shed the pounds off? This is what I’ve been doing, and it’s working like a charm.
#1. Healthy Green Smoothies Every Single Morning
Ever since I started to drink healthy green smoothies in the morning that consists of a blend of fruit, vegetables, and healthy fats, I’ve been getting slimmer as the days go by. Also, my hair, skin, and nails have been improving dramatically too. Read more about my 1 Week Results here. To lose weight, eat your fruit and vegetables on a daily basis, especially your vegetables. Eat it with every meal. They are absolutely the perfect food for the body and health! The fact that my skin is becoming acne free and clearer by the day motivates me to keep going at it! It is working so well for me. The results are absolutely outstanding! Here’s the recipe if you are curious! All natural ingredients that are rich in antioxidants!
#2. Workout Smarter, Not Harder
Some people might think that you need to exercise a lot to lose weight. In my case, that isn’t true. I used to do lots of marathons and worked out a lot more than I do now. At that time, I couldn’t lose weight whatsoever. It didn’t matter how much I ate. It didn’t matter how much I worked out. It didn’t matter at all. I started to gain weight rapidly. It was pretty dissatisfying and depressing. I didn’t know what was going on until I realized how much stress I was putting on my body from over-exercising over time (I mean, years). When the body is overstressed, that can lead to weight gain. The weight gain was mainly around the waist area. The belly. The hardest part of the body to lose fat! My body was unevenly distributed. It was devastating!
What I did was take a couple of months off from doing any exercise. They were the toughest months of my life! It was really hard to do because I love working out. It reduces mental stress and makes me happy. The adrenaline rush. It’s my me time. During my downtime, I felt out of place, since I was so used to being active all the time. I developed really bad headaches. Also, within those months, in my opinion, it looked like I put on a few more pounds, but I didn’t bother to workout anyways. I had a goal. My goal was to stop doing whatever I was doing. Rest, rest, and rest some more! As the months went by, my body started to lean out. My stomach became flatter. I became leaner and thinner! Unbelievable.
From this experience, I learned that it is very important to give your body the rest days it needs. Light workouts are OK for everyday, but strenuous workouts should be done when your body is only ready for it. Also, it is not necessary to workout every single day! For example, I only workout 1-2 days a row, rest the next 2 days. It really depends on the condition of my body. Listen to your body! That is the most important advice I would like to give! Rest is very important for growth! Just because you do more, that doesn’t mean you’ll get there faster! As the title states, workout smarter, not harder.
#3 Fitness Gadgets
I’m really proud of myself for giving my body some rest after a long struggle. If you’re a fitness enthusiast like me, you know exactly what I mean. Working out is awesome! Too much is just bad. So, I ended up treating myself to a new fitness watch.
I love fitness gadgets. I’ve gone through a few others. I can do a review on them some other time if anyone is interested. Fitness gadgets and watches can keep people motivated and on track with their goals, but it isn’t necessary. You don’t need to shell out a lot of money to be fit and in shape. I just love tech and fitness. I like keeping track of my calories, steps, mileage, and so much more! It makes the whole experience fun and interactive. I’ve been doing it for years before it was even a thing.
Have you used the new Apple fitness watch? How do you like it?
#4. A Moderate-High Carb Diet
I eat a moderate to higher carb diet. I eat lots of carbs from whole grains, legumes, fruits, and vegetables. I even eat rice. I know a lot of people shun rice. Not me!
Occasionally, I treat myself to whole grain/whole wheat bagels. Yes, bread. BREAD! I just don’t eat a lot of bread. I have my reason (below). Healthy carbohydrates, in general, keeps me satisfied and full. I’ve tried a low carb diet before, and I was always hungry and not satisfied. I was very unhappy and depressed. I lost a lot of motivation and energy. Along with a higher carb diet, I make sure I consume healthy fats. Some examples are extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, chia seeds, hemp seeds, almonds, peanuts, and so much more. I don’t neglect my healthy fats at all. I just don’t consume tons of it in a day. I lean towards whole grains, legumes, fruits, and vegetables more. Of course, I make sure I get enough protein. Beans are becoming a favorite of mine as I’m changing my diet! I’m practically addicted to garbanzo beans now! *Shopping for Healthy Food* How about you? Do you like garbanzo beans? They’re also known as chickpeas. 🙂
Foods that are in my Daily Diet 🙂
Pistachios, Kale, Cherry Tomatoes, Black Beans, Quinoa, and Raw Almonds. What do you like to eat?
What about bread?
I mentioned earlier that I do eat bread occasionally. I only eat whole grain/whole wheat breads though. If it is organic, the better! 🙂 But, I don’t eat a lot of bread. I have my reason. It makes me feel bloated. I must admit, bread is simply delish. I bet everyone would agree with me on this. Yeah? Too bad my belly doesn’t like it in excess or every day. It’s too much. How do you feel about bread? It’s one of those do not eat foods when you’re trying to lose weight and get lean. Share your thoughts by leaving a comment!
#5. I eat when I’m hungry, stop when I’m full.
This is the motto I live by: “Eat when you’re hungry, stop when you’re full.” In other words, listen to your body.
Don’t worry, I had the vegan pizzas. No meat, cheese. It’s vegan cheese. 🙂
Also, this was just an example, I haven’t had this type of food in a long time. hehe. But really, if you want to achieve your goals. Discipline yourself. It’s YOU that can only make the change. It’s your life. It’s your body. You only have one and treat it well.
#6. Drink liquids throughout the day!
I make sure I drink at least 8 cups of water each day to hydrate my body and maintain good health. Drinking enough water leaves the complexion radiant! The body needs water to function properly. I’m not saying to go overboard with the liquids. Just make sure you get enough in a single day. You will know when you’re getting enough or not. Once again, listening to your body is very important. I have said that many times, but it’s simply true. It’s the only way to get in touch with yourself and know what you truly need.
“Treat your body with respect.”
If you have any questions, feel free to ask! I hope this helps anyone that’s trying to lose weight! Have a great evening! 🙂 ~ This is how I stay healthy. It’s a lifetime commitment. 👍👍

MAC Lipsticks in Russian Red & Ruby Woo
Aug. 15, 2018Leave a comment
I’ve always wanted a few red lipsticks for special occasions. But, finding a good red lipstick has always been very difficult. The formula needs to be better than average. I say better than average because I put lipsticks in their very own special category. Eyeliners, mascaras, foundations, eyeshadows, and blushes are much easier to find. I can easily adapt to them if they are decent. Lipsticks, on the other hand, I cannot. It’s either I can use them, or I cannot. I need a lipstick that’s rich in color, doesn’t crease, stays put, fragrance-free, and doesn’t taste weird. It’s not like I eat my lipsticks. They’re on my lips, so they slip in. 😔 Also, fragrance-free, because I develop headaches from lipsticks if they are highly perfumed.
Since I’ve had much success with MAC Cosmetics before in another shade — Honey Love, I chose this brand again. The formula worked for me. I loved it. For the price and quality, it’s quite amazing! So, I purchased two red lipsticks from MAC Cosmetics. They are Ruby Woo and Russian Red. Before I go into further detail, here are photos of my MAC Cosmetics red lipsticks in Ruby Woo and Russian Red. Swatches and all. Enjoy. 💄
Ruby Woo Retro Matte Lipstick:
- Long wearing lipstick formula, 8 hours
- Intense color payoff
- Matte finish
- Fade proof
- Very matte vivid blue-red
Russian Red Matte Lipstick:
- Cream, rich lipstick formula
- High color payoff
- No-shine, matte finish
- Intense bluish-red
They are two different shades of red. Ruby Woo is a tad brighter, while Russian Red is deeper in color. I’ve only used Russian Red. Here’s a picture of me wearing Russian Red (the above photo too, both are Russian Red).
In conclusion, I really like Russian Red! 💋 With Russian Red, the lipstick lasted the whole night! Not even a single budge or smudge after dinner and sipping on a glass of water! I didn’t have to retouch at all! LOOOOOOVEEE! Now,I’m excited to use Ruby Woo, which was out of stock for a while, so I didn’t receive it until a few weeks later. They are both popular reds! From this experience, I would say that MAC Cosmetics red lipsticks are top quality! They hit all the points I want in a lipstick. No creasing, stays put, intense in color, doesn’t taste funny. Most of all, no bad headaches from it, since it’s fragrance-free. They work for me! Even though I’m not a big fan of other MAC Cosmetics makeup products, they win me over with their lipsticks!
Have you tried any MAC lipsticks? Ruby Woo or Russian Red? Any favorites? Share your thoughts and experience by leaving a comment!
