My love for hemp hearts!

Here are my five favorite foods from the month of September! Enjoy! 🙂

Hemp seeds are my absolute favorite! I use Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts every single day of the week! They are packed with nutrition that’s simply unbeatable! Some examples are zinc, manganese, and magnesium. It’s also a great source of protein compared to chia and flax. It’s a complete protein, which means that it contains all essential amino acids to build muscle! For more nutrition information, go here. Right now, my hemp seeds are going down so fast that I may need a new bag soon!

I’ve been loving my flax! I use Trader Joe’s Organic Flaxseed Meal every day in my bowl of oatmeal. I’m not a big fan of adding flax into my protein shakes though. I prefer chia seeds and hemp seeds instead. I would highly recommend adding flax along with chia seed and hemp seed into your diet! It’s a good source of iron, fiber, and rich in phytonutrients. Even though I prefer Trader Joe’s Organic Pea Protein Unsweetened more, Trader Joe’s Organic Pea Protein Vanilla isn’t too bad. It works just as well as the Unsweetened. I think it’s merely a preference. Do you want a vanilla flavored protein supplement, or do you want an unsweetened protein supplement? It’s up to you. I will still use the Vanilla until I’m out, but I will purchase the Unsweetened again next time I’m at Trader Joe’s. I want to keep my ingredients to a minimum with zero added sugars.

Trader Joe’s Raw Creamy Almond Butter has been treating me well. I’m beginning to enjoy it more than the crunchy nut butters. I said it! I may be a convert soon! 😜 The raw creamy almond butter is much easier to incorporate into my foods and drinks. For example, I sometimes add a tablespoon of nut butter into my oatmeal. The creamy nut butter blends in smoothly with little effort. Also, when I add it into my protein shakes, it works just as well. It blends in beautifully. I love it. I’m considering trying out other creamy nut butters first before I purchase another crunchy. How about you? Which do you prefer? Creamy or crunchy?

In about a week, I’ve been using Testa Omega-3 Algae Oil DHA + EPA for 1 month. So far, they’ve been convenient. I stash them in my bag and take 1 softgel right before my meal with a glass of water. I make sure I drink loads of water! 😁 Ever since I’ve included an omega-3 supplement in my diet, I’ve noticed that my nails are getting stronger and tougher. They seem to grow much faster than before! I have to clip them on a weekly basis now. Wow, it’s awesome to notice results with small changes such as taking an omega-3 supplement! I really like it and will continue to use it. Do you have any favorite vegan, plant-based omega-3 supplements? What do you use? Try this omega-3 with me!

I’ve been incorporating almonds, pecans, and pumpkin seeds in my diet for a while. I think it’s time to spice things up a little bit by adding another nut into my diet. I chose pistachios. I only eat pistachios once in a blue moon. It’s an expensive nut for everyday consumption. 😔 It’s soooo good though! One of my favorites. ❤ Only if they were more affordable. This time, I didn’t choose the Roasted. Those are good, by the way. Unsalted or Salted, they are really good. The one I have is Sweet Chili. I’ve never had this flavor before until now. It’s new to me. If you have a gluten allergy, you’re in luck! Wonderful Pistachios Sweet Chili is Gluten-Free. They are also Non-GMO. 🙂

Nutrition Facts & Ingredients: With only 150 calories per serving, pistachios make a great, fulfilling snack! They are packed with essential nutrients, such as copper, manganese, vitamin B6, thiamin, and so much more! Like other nuts, they are high in healthy fats that are good for the heart. Of course, there’s 6 grams of protein that comes along with all of that good stuff! What’s not to love? Exactly. Everything. 👍👍

I’m so used to the plain, roasted pistachios, so I thought the Spicy Chili pistachios were quite different. The flavor is exactly what it is. It’s sweet. Tangy, I would say. There’s a touch of chili to it. It’s not spicy though. It’s more sweet than it is spicy. I like it. They’re good. Still, I think I like the plain, roasted pistachios a lot more. Yeah, I’m pretty basic when it comes to pistachios, haha. These were nice to try. I would only purchase them again if I get bored with the plain, roasted ones.
