The Body Shop Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream

The Body Shop Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream comes in a green tube (as pictured). The product is easy to dispense out of the tube. It’s easy to use. The texture is soft but not creamy soft. It takes on the texture of a tinted moisturizer. Tinted moisturizers tend to be lightweight and thinner in consistency. I purchased the lightest shade (01) because I’m on the pale side. I liked the shade of this BB Cream. It wasn’t too light or too dark. It looked natural on my skin. One of the best aspects of this BB Cream. With this BB Cream, it looked OK when I applied it to my skin. After a few minutes, it faded away. The coverage was barely there. It felt as if I didn’t apply anything to my skin. This seems to be the case for all Western-based BB Creams I have used so far. I’m very disappointed in that. It did brighten up my complexion a little bit upon application. The thing is, the brightening effect didn’t last long either. It faded away just like the coverage. Again, looks like I had nothing on my skin. What’s the point? I just wasted my time applying this BB Cream to my face!

The tea tree oil in this BB Cream really bothered me. I use Trader Joe’s Spa Face Wash with Tea Tree Oil. The tea tree oil in that face wash never bothered me. I was willing to put up with it and see if it would subside as the days go on. Sadly, my pores became clogged with continued use. My skin became irritated with dry patches around my nose area and chin. I have oily skin, but it dried out my oily skin to the extreme. This BB Cream also dried out my under eye area and accentuated fine lines and wrinkles. Yuck. Oh, and there’s no sun protection in this BB Cream. I discontinued the product quickly and returned it to The Body Shop. Thank goodness for returns. I would’ve been stuck with a crappy makeup product that didn’t even work on my skin! If you have acne-prone skin, I’d stay far away from this. The tea tree oil sounds too good to be true. It is. Now, let’s move on to better BB Creams.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream contains tea tree oil. Tea tree oil is known to be acne-friendly. It helps to prevent and treats acne. It is anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, and anti-viral. It’s good for acne. Keep in mind that tea tree oil might be irritating for some people. It’s not for everyone. This BB Cream also contains shea butter, soybean oil, tamanu oil, and lemon tea tree oil. There seems to be a lot of fragrance going on too. I hope I don’t get a migraine from it. I’m not big on fragrance in beauty products. This BB Cream does not contain any SPF for sun protection. Make sure to wear sunblock underneath. I’m expecting some major oil-control from this BB Cream. Let’s see how it goes! Since we’re on the topic of tea tree oil, check out 5 Ways to Use Tea Tree Oil.
