These are the last Quest Protein Bars I have. Whew! Finally. From left to right: Oatmeal Chocolate Chip, Mocha Chocolate Chip, White Chocolate Raspberry, Blueberry Muffin. I’ve already reviewed Blueberry Muffin. <<< Check out the review here!

- 190 mg sodium
- 23 g carbohydrate (16 g dietary fiber, 1 g total sugars/0 g added sugars, 2 g erythritol)

Review on Oatmeal Chocolate Chip:
It tastes like oatmeal and chocolate chips. Not bad. It still didn’t stand out to me. I think I rather just eat oatmeal with the carbs. I wasn’t impressed with the oatmeal chocolate chip bar. I like oatmeal. I’ll stick to actual oatmeal and sprinkle some chocolate chips into my bowl of oatmeal.
Quest Protein Bar Mocha Chocolate Chip:
- 180 calories
- 2 g saturated fat
- 5 mg cholesterol
- 240 mg sodium
- 24 g carbohydrate (14 g dietary fiber, <1 g total sugars/0 g added sugars, 6 g erythritol)

Review on Mocha Chocolate Chip:
The Mocha Chocolate Chip was pretty good. Found a Quest Protein Bar that I liked. It smells like coffee. Coffee flavored snacks are always good. I’d recommend this one.
Quest Protein Bar White Chocolate Raspberry:
- 200 calories
- 3 g saturated fat
- 5 mg cholesterol
- 220 mg sodium
- 22 g carbohydrate (15 g dietary fiber, 1 g total sugars/0 g added sugars, 2 g erythritol)
- 20 g protein
Review on White Chocolate Raspberry:
Another Quest Protein Bar that’s good. I’m a fan of white chocolate. This bar did taste pretty good. It’s sweet and satisfying. I’d say go for it if you like white chocolate raspberry desserts.
I’m stunned that I liked a couple of Quest Protein Bars this time around — Mocha Chocolate Chip and White Chocolate Raspberry. Will I go out of my way for them?? I don’t know. I’m going to be on a search for some good vegan, dairy-free protein bars instead. 🙂
I hope you enjoyed this review.

One Day of Being a Fat Vegan
Aug. 25, 2018Leave a comment
OK everyone! It’s late Saturday night. It’s time to sabotage my healthy eating habits. No, I’m just kidding. Or, am I? 😙 So I went to Target to purchase some junk food. Vegan junk food that is. Let’s take a look at my shopping cart.
- Justin’s Classic Almond Butter
- Nature’s Bakery Double Chocolate Brownie Bars
- So Delicious Cashew Milk Creamy Chocolate Ice Cream
- Clif Builder’s Mint Chocolate Protein Bar
- Clif Oatmeal Raisin Walnut Bar
- Clif White Chocolate Macadamia Bar
- Health Warrior Chia Coconut Bars
- Health Warrior Chia Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars
A total of 8 items. Lots of food and a belly to take it all! Here are my thoughts… 😎
#1. Justin’s Classic Almond Butter:
This isn’t junk food, but I hardly eat nut butters on a daily basis. I like eating my nuts in its whole form. On a rare occasion, I enjoy an almond butter and jelly sandwich. That sounds simply delish. But, I’m off the bread for a while. The bloat is just way too much for my jeans to handle, lol. So, Justin’s Classic Almond Butter tasted exactly like what it’s supposed to taste like. And that is, creamy and delicious almond butter. This almond butter contains no sodium (0 mg). It’s low in sugar (1 g). There’s only two ingredients in it — roasted almonds and palm oil. It’s easy to spread and tastes really, really good. Yum! Other flavors are available too, such as Maple and Vanilla. Both are delicious and vegan!
Nutrition Facts & Ingredients: Dry Roasted Almonds, Palm Oil.
#2. Nature’s Bakery Double Chocolate Brownie Bars:
I miss brownies, but they are very unhealthy. As I was shopping for vegan junk food, I walked by Nature’s Bakery Double Chocolate Brownie Bars and tossed them into my shopping cart! One time, I tried Nature’s Bakery Stone Ground Whole Wheat in Apple Cinnamon. They were absolutely delicious! I thought I would try the Double Chocolate Brownie Bars from the same company. Luuvvvvv chocolate! What’s better than chocolate? Of course, that’s right, double chocolate! Nature’s Bakery Double Chocolate Brownie Bars provide 8 grams of whole grains per serving. It’s made with natural cocoa and dates. There’s no high fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors or colors. It is soy-free, dairy-free, cholesterol-free, nut-free, and contains no trans fat.
When I opened the wrapper, there were two mini brownies. I guess you can save one for later or share it with a friend. Your choice. 😊 As I took a bite into the bar, the texture was soft and fluffy. Mmm! I liked the texture, but I didn’t like the flavor much. It didn’t taste like chocolate to me. I’ve had plenty of vegan chocolate before, and they were all yummy. Since it’s called double chocolate, I would think that it would taste somewhat like chocolate. This bar was a total fail in that department. But, it did cut down my brownie cravings, so I got something out of it, lol.
Nutrition Facts & Ingredients: Stone Ground Whole Wheat Flour, Cane Sugar Syrup, Date Paste, Canola Oil, Cocoa Powder (Processed with Alkali), Dried Cane Sugar, Chocolate (Chocolate Liquor, Cane Sugar, Cocoa Butter), Natural Flavors, Sea Salt, Flaxseed, Baking Soda. Contains Wheat.
#3. So Delicious Cashew Milk Creamy Chocolate Ice Cream:
The headline of So Delicious Cashew Milk Creamy Chocolate Ice Cream is that it’s rich, creamy, and totally indulgent! I tried it for the first time, I didn’t like it. It didn’t taste creamy. It didn’t taste chocolaty. I can taste the cashews in this ice cream. I love cashew nuts, but I guess not in the form of ice cream. The second time I tried it, I could tolerate the flavor better. I’m not sure how that happened (haha), but it happened. I still didn’t think it tasted like creamy chocolate ice cream as advertised. I’ve had non-dairy ice creams before. I usually go for the almond or coconut-based ice creams. Coconut ice cream is a favorite of mine, but almond ice cream is pretty good too. This is my first time trying a cashew-based ice cream, and I don’t think I’ll purchase another one any time soon. The idea of it is nice. Eating it isn’t as enjoyable compared to coconut or almond ice cream. It’s OK. It’s not the best. Try it out for yourself, you might like it more than I did.

#4. Clif Builder’s Mint Chocolate Protein Bar:
I love Clif Builder’s Protein Bars. I would buy them all the time when I did marathons. So yummy. The first one I tried was, ahem, the Mint Chocolate Protein Bar. 🙂 I’m a big fan of mint chocolate! This one was great! It looks like a chocolate covered candy bar. It’s crispy in the inside. It tastes like mint chocolate. I always go to this protein bar when I need a quick tasty snack. I know, it does have a lot of sugar in it, but the sugar carbs is supposed to help sustain workouts. This protein bar is made for people that are very active, not people living a sedentary lifestyle. More about this protein bar: 20 grams of protein. 32% organic ingredients. 13 vitamins and minerals. Low-glycemic. Non-GMO. No trans fat. No wheat. No dairy. I like this protein bar and always will. It’s been a staple of mine for many years as a runner.

#5. Clif Oatmeal Raisin Walnut Bar:
I’ve never had the Clif Oatmeal Raisin Walnut Bar before. It’s new to me. I love oatmeal, raisins, and walnuts in general. I thought I would give this one a try! Out of the three Clif Bars I purchased, this one was my least favorite. I thought it was OK. I liked the benefits of it. It claims to have nutrition to sustain energy. All natural. It is made with organic oats and soybeans. 70% organic ingredients. 23 vitamins and minerals. No trans fat. Certified QAI. It says that it’s high in protein, but it only has 10 grams of protein for 250 calories. That is a lie. That is not a lot of protein for the amount of calories consumed. The Clif Oatmeal Raisin Walnut Bar is edible though. I’m not sure if I’ll buy it again. Maybe as a last resort.

#6. Clif White Chocolate Macadamia Bar:
Hello, White Chocolate Macadamia!! 🤗 This one was soooo yummy!! If you like white chocolate and macadamia nuts, go for it! Love! I would definitely purchase this one again! What about it? It’s full of nutrient-rich ingredients! It’s all natural. It contains whole grains, fiber, and omega-3’s from flax. It claims to be a good source of protein. I totally disagree with that. 260 calories for only 9 grams of protein. These companies with their outrageous claims, haha! Taste-wise, thumbs up! 👍
Nutrition Facts & Ingredients: Organic Brown Rice Syrup, Organic Rolled Oats, Soy Protein Isolate, Organic Cane Syrup, Organic Roasted Soybeans, Rice Flour, Macadamia Nuts, Organic Dried Cane Syrup, Organic Oat Fiber, Organic Soy Flour, Cocoa Butter, Organic High Oleic Sunflower Oil, Natural Flavors, Organic Cocoa Butter, Sea Salt, Soy Flour, Barley Malt Extract, Soy Lecithin, Mixed Tocopherols (Antioxidant).
#7. Health Warrior Chia Coconut Bars:
The Health Warrior Chia Coconut Bar is somewhat coconut-y. It tasted like cashews on the first bite. Once I noticed that, I looked at the ingredients. Well, look at that! It has cashew butter in it! I think the cashew base killed it for me. I’m not a big fan of cashew-based food products (as you can tell by now). If you like cashew-based products, this one is for you! The benefits of this chia bar are good though. It’s all natural. It provides 1020 mg omega-3’s. It is certified vegan. 100% plant-based. Low glycemic. Low sugar. Gluten-free. Dairy-free. Soy-free. Non-GMO. A great source of fiber. FYI, Health Warrior Chia Coconut Bars used to contain 1100 mg omega-3’s and 110 calories per bar. The new packaging/box is the one with the lime green color.
Nutrition Facts & Ingredients: White Chia Seeds, Brown Rice Syrup, Cashew Butter, Unsweetened Coconut, Organic Brown Rice Crisps (Organic Brown Rice, Organic Brown Rice Syrup, Sea Salt), Chicory Root Fiber, Rolled Oats, Arabic Gum, White Grain Sorghum Extract, Almonds, Natural Flavors, Sea Salt, Mixed Tocopherols (Natural Vitamin E).
#8. Health Warrior Chia Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars:
I’ve had Health Warrior Chia Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars in the past. I liked them. I think I would like anything with peanut butter. It’s sooo good! These bars are small with tiny little chia seeds mashed into a bar. They make a nice mini snack when you’re on-the-go without ruining your calorie intake for the day. That was my first impression of the Health Warrior Chia Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar. I tried the Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars again for the second time, and I’m not sure what happened. They weren’t as great as the first time. They weren’t mind-blowing. As for the flavor, it has a subtle peanut butter flavor to it. Eh, the price ya pay for choosing somewhat healthy snacks. I’m just kidding. I would pick these up again if I was on a road trip at a gas station. Health Warrior Chia Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars are packed with fiber, omega-3’s, protein, and antioxidants. It only contains 3 grams of sugar per bar. Non-GMO. Certified vegan. Certified gluten-free.
Nutrition Facts & Ingredients: White Chia Seeds, Peanuts, Brown Rice Syrup, Organic Dark Chocolate Chips (Organic Cane Sugar, Organic Cocoa Liquor, Organic Cocoa Butter, Organic Vanilla), Organic Brown Rice Crisps (Organic Brown Rice, Organic Brown Rice Syrup, Sea Salt), White Grain Sorghum Extract, Chicory Root Fiber, Rolled Oats, Arabic Gum, Peanut Oil, Natural Flavors, Sea Salt, Mixed Tocopherols (Natural Vitamin E).
