Updated Review: CeraVe AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion with Sunscreen
Here’s an update on CeraVe AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion with Sunscreen! I’ve used this sunscreen for 1 week. I loved how this facial moisturizing lotion/sunscreen moisturized my skin. It left my skin feeling soft, supple, and glowy due to the amazing ingredients in it. It contains ceramides, niacinamide, hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid. I noticed a brighter complexion very quickly upon use. My skin texture looked more healthy and refined too. But it did make my skin appear more oily and reapplying it wasn’t pleasant. My skin looked even more oily after blotting my skin before reapplication. Also, the pilling is real. I experienced pilling years ago with this product and still experience pilling now. BUT, there’s a trick to using this product. You have to let your skin care products absorb fully into the skin before applying. I’ll apply my skin care products then wait at least 1 hour before applying this product and didn’t have any issues. By the way, I’m on a very minimal skin care routine, so that helps a lot too. Make sure to pat the product into the skin. Do not rub! If you rub, it pills! For people with time constraints, don’t even bother with this product.
Since this sunscreen has silicones in it, it made my skin look smoother. My makeup went on much easier and nicer. It made my skin look flawless. It feels like a makeup primer. It smoothes out flaws and imperfections. Unfortunately, since it contains silicones in higher amounts than what my skin can handle, I noticed pimples that would appear out of nowhere after using it. Some were tiny bumps AND A HUGE GIGANTIC CYST!! I was in denial a little bit because I loved how it made my skin look and feel. I think I have to come to terms that this sunscreen is not compatible with my skin. I’ve stopped using it for a day or two, and my skin feels more lightweight and less oily. I have less acne problems.
It looks like this sunscreen isn’t for me. People seem to rave so much about CeraVe, but so far all of their face products do not work on my skin. It breaks me out (or does nothing)! Clogging my pores over time. The only thing I can use from this brand is the eye cream, but it doesn’t go on my facial skin. Just my eye area. <<< I shall make an update on that soon. Would I recommend this sunscreen? If you don’t have acne, go for it. The ingredients are nice. If you have acne-prone skin or skin prone to getting clogged easily, do a patch test. All I know is that it didn’t work on my skin. Everyone’s skin responds differently to products.
