Updated Review: elf Poreless Putty Primer
It’s been almost a year since I did a review on the elf Poreless Putty Primer! Here are my thoughts after a year (almost a year, lol). Wow, my experience and thoughts have changed so much over time. So what do I think about this primer now?
I raved about it in the beginning, but my thoughts have changed since. I stopped liking it. I started to notice that it dried out my skin like all of the other primers I have used before. Along with the dryness, it accentuated dry patches, pores, fine lines, and wrinkles. My foundation looked more, extra dry on my skin with the primer underneath. The fact that it left my skin dry made my skin itchy. Not only that, it irriated my skin to the point that it clogged my pores. Yes, I removed my makeup and the primer properly and thoroughly. I still ended up with clogged pores. If I had active pimples, the primer would make them swell and enlarge. I truly believe the culprit is the elf Poreless Putty Primer. I’ve learned that my skin doesn’t do well with heavy silicone-based face makeup and skincare. It just doesn’t work for me. My skin hates it because it feels like my skin is being wrapped in saran wrap. I’m not saying I can’t use makeup and skincare with silicones. Some of my makeup and skincare contains silicones. If silicones are high up on the list of ingredients, it’s usually a no-go. I haven’t noticed a difference with my makeup when I use a primer and when I don’t. It didn’t make my makeup look smoother, last longer, or better looking. I think I’m better off not priming my face. The elf Poreless Putty Primer has been highly raved by many people, but it didn’t work out for me in the end. I still have a jar of product left. Oh well. Moving on…
