Here’s an update on LilyAna Naturals Vitamin C Serum & LilyAna Naturals Retinol Cream Moisturizer. I’m going to do the Vitamin C Serum first.

LilyAna Naturals Vitamin C Serum

I’ve been using LilyAna Naturals Vitamin C Serum for 2 weeks straight. Day and night. At first, I thought that the serum was finally working. My skin looked brighter. I didn’t get any breakouts. I was really happy that I have found a vitamin c serum that gave me the results I’ve been looking for. I thought, maybe it was something else I was using that broke me out during the last three uses of this serum. YES, I tried it three times. *hopeful me*

After the first week, I started to notice clogged pores and breakouts. I let it slide. But, this made me think — Is this an initial breakout? Will it clear up? What’s going on with my skin? Is it the serum? — Because I wasn’t leaving any other skin care product on my skin besides my Hyaluronic Acid Serum.

I stuck with applying the vitamin c serum to my skin religiously as I did during the first week. My skin became more clogged by the day. I was devastated. My skin went from clear to bumpy textured skin. :'( Make. It. Stop! So what I did was only use the vitamin c serum in the morning at the end of the second week and beginning of the third week. The times my pores were clogged was when I used it, which is in the morning. I immediately stopped using it. That’s how I knew it was the serum that was causing my skin to breakout non-stop.

I really wanted this serum to work. Really, I did. That’s why I gave it another chance. Now I know that it’s time that I ditch this vitamin c serum for good and move onto something else. If you have acne-prone skin, do not buy this. It’s not for acne-prone skin. I think it has to do with the base of the serum (not the vitamin c). Here are the ingredients:

Aqua, Botanical Hyaluronic Acid (5%), Vitamin C (20%), MSM, Organic Aloe Leaf Juice, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Vitamin E, Organic Jojoba Oil, Organic Gotu Kola Extract, Horsetail Extract, Wild Geranium Extract, Organic Dandelion Extract, Sodium Hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin

Something on this list didn’t click with my skin. I suspect it’s ingredient #6 — Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer. That’s what I think. This whole time, I thought it was jojoba oil, but it’s not. Well then, let’s move on! I will never buy this LilyAna Naturals Vitamin C Serum ever again. Out it goes for good!

September 13, 2019 UPDATE: Here’s an update on the condition of my skin. My skin has cleared up dramatically after I stopped using LilyAna Naturals Vitamin C Serum. This serum was the culprit of my breakouts.

LilyAna Naturals Retinol Cream Moisturizer

Another skin care product that acne-prone skin people should stay away from — LilyAna Naturals Retinol Cream Moisturizer. It will clog your pores. Here are the ingredients:

Ingredients:

Organic Aloe Leaf Juice, Aqua, Organic Sunflower Oil Seed Oil, Isopropyl Palmitate, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Botanical Hyaluronic Acid, Stearic Acid, Glycerin (Kosher, Vegetable), Organic Jojoba Oil, Shea Butter, Vitamin E, Vitamin B5, Retinol, Organic Green Tea Leaf Extract, Propolis Extract, Organic Gotu Kola Extract, Horsetail Extract, Wild Geranium Extract, Organic Dandelion Extract, Xanthan Gum, Polysorbate 20, Pentylene Glycol, Alcohol, Lecithin, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin

Oils are a hit or miss. It may or may not break you out. But you should be wary of this ingredient — Isopropyl Palmitate. It’s high on the list. It’s a pore clogger. Stay away.

Not only that, I noticed no effects on my skin using this face cream on my eye area. *hope was all I had* What’s the point??? This face cream and the vitamin c serum are not cheap. They are 20 bucks a pop! Honestly, I don’t recommend any of these skin care products to anyone, especially if you have acne-prone skin. I hope this review helped anyone looking into purchasing these!

Thank you for reading. 🙂

Love, Jen
