Review: elf Skincare & Makeup Part 1
Here are my thoughts on elf skincare and makeup products I purchased during the summer (part 1). Are they worth it? Well, read on to find out! 🙂
HUGE elf Makeup & Skincare Haul Part 1
1. elf Makeup Remover Cleansing Clothes – 2 Pack
I like these, but I don’t love them. I think they are a little too moist, and that makes it harder to have a nice grip on the skin. I do like the fact that they are super cheap! I think they are worth the buy if you’re looking for affordable cleansing clothes. It’s a cleansing cloth afterall. I don’t think it’s necessary to spend a fortune on them. They don’t stay on the skin for an extended amount of time anyways.
Would I buy again? Yes.
2. elf Total Face Sponge
At first, I felt out of place using a sponge to apply my foundation. It’s because I’m so used to using my hands and fingers. The more I used this sponge to apply my makeup, the more I enjoyed it. It works. I haven’t used it ‘wet’. Only ‘dry’. I hardly ever apply my makeup with wet sponges or brushes. It feels weird on the skin. I liked this sponge.
Would I buy again? Even though I liked it, I still prefer to use my hands or a brush when applying foundation. I wouldn’t purchase it again for that reason. If you like using sponges, this is a good choice.
3. elf Contour Palette
I was searching for a contour palette, so I purchased this one. The colors in the palette looked good. I thought it would work, but the formula didn’t work for my skin type. It clogged my pores. If you don’t have skin that clogs easily, this could work for you. Me, no. I’ll pass.
Would I buy again? No, because it’s not suitable for my skin type.
4. elf Makeup Mist & Set
I’ve never tried elf makeup setting sprays before. This was the first one I bought from elf cosmetics. Honestly, I wasn’t impressed with this makeup setting spray. The spray applicator makes the product come out uneven. It’s messy. The formula shifted my makeup too. It didn’t ‘set’ my makeup. Don’t buy this spray.
Would I buy again? NO.
5. elf Brow Pencil in Neutral Brown
I’m glad I tried this eyebrow pencil out. Did I like it? No. The color was faint and rubbed off easily. I eventually stopped using it. It didn’t make my eyebrows look natural and pretty.
Would I buy again? No.
6. elf HD Lifting Concealer in Fair
What’s great about the elf HD Lifting Concealer is the texture and consistency of it. It’s thick and soft. I really love how it blends into my skin. It feels very elegant for a concealer that only costs $4. Coverage is good, but it does not stay in place. I have the one in fair, and it’s a tad dark to be considered a fair shade. The price is good for the quality, but I want a concealer that has good consistency/texture, that matches my complexion better, and stays in place throughout the day.
Would I buy again? I’m torn because it’s not that bad, but I will most likely not purchase it again.
I did do a review on elf concealers here. Feel free to check it out! It seems like my thoughts have changed on the elf HD Lifting Concealer. 😛
Have you used any of these products from elf? Share your thoughts on them! 😀
