Pacifica Skin Care for Dry Skin + First Impression

So I’ve been dealing with extremely dry and itchy skin. I’ve been searching for some ‘moisturizing’ skin care products to alleviate these symptoms. I’ve seen Pacifica skin care products whenever I’m out shopping. I thought I would give them a try this time. They have good reviews and all. Plus, they are vegan and cruelty-free. Why not? I ended up picking up….
- Pacifica Rose Flower Hydro Mist
- Pacifica Cosmic Shield Hydration Lock Face Cream
I’ve had a chance to try both of them, so I can give my thoughts on them right now.
Pacifica Rose Flower Hydro Mist:
This is a hydrating spray or ‘hydro mist’ as it states on the bottle. It is indeed moisturizing, but it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. It takes a few minutes for the product to absorb into the skin. I only spray my face once (in the morning) after I apply my makeup. It’s because my BB Cream can make my skin look dry and cracked. Yuck! It seems to be working. The only thing I don’t like about this spray is the fragrance.
Pacifica Cosmic Shield Hydration Lock Face Cream:
I was hoping to find a good face cream. This cream is more on the runny side. The texture feels more like a thicker serum than a face cream. It absorbs into the skin very well and leaves it feeling hydrated. I do have oily skin, and it did feel quite heavier on my skin than expected. I know anything that feels heavy on the skin will eventually break me out. That’s what happened. I ended up with a pimple near my hairline after using this. I stopped using it on my face. This ‘face cream’ isn’t for me. It sure works very well as an eye cream. It’s lightweight in texture, goes on delicately, and very hydrating. Same with this product (as the hydro mist), it has fragrance. Meh. I prefer my skin care products without fragrance.

5 Fave Health Foods of September

Here are my five favorite foods from the month of September! Enjoy! 🙂
#1. Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts:
Hemp seeds are my absolute favorite! I use Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts every single day of the week! They are packed with nutrition that’s simply unbeatable! Some examples are zinc, manganese, and magnesium. It’s also a great source of protein compared to chia and flax. It’s a complete protein, which means that it contains all essential amino acids to build muscle! For more nutrition information, go here. Right now, my hemp seeds are going down so fast that I may need a new bag soon!
#2. Trader Joe’s Organic Flaxseed Meal:
I’ve been loving my flax! I use Trader Joe’s Organic Flaxseed Meal every day in my bowl of oatmeal. I’m not a big fan of adding flax into my protein shakes though. I prefer chia seeds and hemp seeds instead. I would highly recommend adding flax along with chia seed and hemp seed into your diet! It’s a good source of iron, fiber, and rich in phytonutrients. #3. Trader Joe’s Organic Pea Protein Vanilla:
Even though I prefer Trader Joe’s Organic Pea Protein Unsweetened more, Trader Joe’s Organic Pea Protein Vanilla isn’t too bad. It works just as well as the Unsweetened. I think it’s merely a preference. Do you want a vanilla flavored protein supplement, or do you want an unsweetened protein supplement? It’s up to you. I will still use the Vanilla until I’m out, but I will purchase the Unsweetened again next time I’m at Trader Joe’s. I want to keep my ingredients to a minimum with zero added sugars.
#4. Trader Joe’s Raw Creamy Almond Butter:
Trader Joe’s Raw Creamy Almond Butter has been treating me well. I’m beginning to enjoy it more than the crunchy nut butters. I said it! I may be a convert soon! 😜 The raw creamy almond butter is much easier to incorporate into my foods and drinks. For example, I sometimes add a tablespoon of nut butter into my oatmeal. The creamy nut butter blends in smoothly with little effort. Also, when I add it into my protein shakes, it works just as well. It blends in beautifully. I love it. I’m considering trying out other creamy nut butters first before I purchase another crunchy. How about you? Which do you prefer? Creamy or crunchy?
#5. Testa Omega-3 Algae Oil DHA + EPA:
In about a week, I’ve been using Testa Omega-3 Algae Oil DHA + EPA for 1 month. So far, they’ve been convenient. I stash them in my bag and take 1 softgel right before my meal with a glass of water. I make sure I drink loads of water! 😁 Ever since I’ve included an omega-3 supplement in my diet, I’ve noticed that my nails are getting stronger and tougher. They seem to grow much faster than before! I have to clip them on a weekly basis now. Wow, it’s awesome to notice results with small changes such as taking an omega-3 supplement! I really like it and will continue to use it. Do you have any favorite vegan, plant-based omega-3 supplements? What do you use? Try this omega-3 with me!
I hope you all enjoyed my September picks! I’m loving all of these health foods and have noticed tremendous benefits from them! Along with that, my level of fitness has increased.
