Review: Benton Fermentation Essence

I’ve attempted to add two other skin care products in the past weeks. Sometimes I wonder if I’m adding them in too fast. Well, some worked, some didn’t. You can check out my reviews on them right here: Benton Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel and Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence. Wow, I’ve been trying out a lot of Benton skin care products, lol. Now here’s another Benton product that I decided to add into my skin care routine. It’s not officially in yet. I’m just testing it out to see if it works or not. The product is called Benton Fermentation Essence. I’ve used it before. Since my skin is pretty clear, I thought I would give it another chance. I’m not sure if it was the cause or one of the causes of my breakouts. Let’s see what happens….

From what I remember, Benton Fermentation Essence was a lightweight essence that left my skin feeling silky smooth. I wanted to add some of that silkiness in my life, lol. This essence also claims to have anti-aging benefits, such as fighting wrinkles, keeping the skin healthy and supple, and leaving the skin feeling refreshed and youthful. It claims to help with acne too. Some examples are reducing oil in the skin, blackheads, and pore size. That sounds extreme, but it could work. Who really knows. Also, it helps to brighten the skin and strengthen the skin barrier. That’s so many skin care benefits in one single product! This is so exciting! I couldn’t resist not trying it again after reading all of that! It may work out this time around. But now, let’s get into my experience with this product. Did it work? What happened? My experience

I was so excited to add this essence back into my skin care routine. The ingredients look amazing. The feel of the essence is also amazing. It comes out watery but when applied to the skin, it feels so soft and silky. It smooths over the skin and leaves it feeling supple. It feels like I have a new layer of skin. I really, really loved the texture of the product and how it made my skin feel…but something happened. So with this essence, I was able to use it for a night and the next day. A total of ONE day. I’m really disappointed that this happened. I was devastated. I really wanted this product to work this time around. It’s one of the best essences that I’ve encountered that left my skin feeling and visually improved after just one use. I enjoyed using it. So, this is what happened within a day of using Benton Fermentation Essence.

After using Benton Fermentation Essence for a single night…

After a night of using Benton Fermentation Essence, everything went well. My skin felt a surge of moisture. Since I have oily skin, this essence provided more than enough moisture. Just about the right amount of moisture without weighing my skin down. Along with that, it left my skin feeling silky smooth and very supple. It felt like a dream product that came true. What I’ve been searching for so many years. It did what I needed it to do. And that is, to maintain moisture in my skin while smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles. I noticed the texture of my skin changed. It looked way smoother than before. It made my skin so glowy and dewy. So soft and youthful. I couldn’t stop admiring my skin. The results were soooo amazing. It was awesome! I didn’t see any breakouts at this point. I was madly in love with the product!

I continued to use the essence the next morning…

Since I saw results after the first application, I felt very optimistic about using the product. The essence went on my skin smoothly, left my skin feeling soft and silky, and made my skin look better. But that all changed when I noticed acne when I was cleansing my face for the night. I looked in the mirror and noticed that my pores were enlarged, blackheads appeared out of no where, random whiteheads on my forehead and near my jawline, and pimples that once healed were refilled with sebum again. A bunch of this acne was really stubborn too. My once clear skin being erupted with acne once again. Also, with the acne, I noticed that my skin was more dull and less bright as before. What happened???? My skin changed so fast from being soft, smooth, glowy to acne-ridden and dull. What do I do now? Do I remove it? Was it the Benton Fermentation Essence or something else? Yes, I was in complete denial. Well, just a little bit, lol.

So what did I do?

Fortunately, for me, I snapped out of it. But that was after I already applied my skin care products for the night. Gosh, I really don’t like it when I have to redo my skincare routine due to having hope that a product may not be the problem. I was going to leave the Benton Fermentation Essence on my skin overnight to see if it was truly the culprit of my sudden acne breakout. But, I’m glad that I didn’t. The next morning, after I stopped using the essence, the blackheads vanished and the pimples decreased in size. Once again, everyone, trust your gut instincts. If you notice any acne (if it’s not an exfoliant), then chances are the product is not compatible with your skin type. Leave it alone and let it go. So I think I lucked out this time. I would’ve developed more acne if I didn’t stop using it. Benton Fermentation Essence didn’t work out the first time. It didn’t work out the second. There will not be a third try. ha. My experience the first time was much worse, since I used it for more than half a year without realizing how much it was damaging my skin! Whew! Thank goodness that’s over! I’m never using this stuff on my face ever again!

• Breakouts galore!!! Blackheads, whiteheads, pores being filled and refilled with sebum!
• Annoying pump applicator. The essence shoots out straight.

Conclusion

I remember being in love with this essence. It was my favorite. I always looked forward to using it. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out again. I get bad nightmares when I’m thinking about this product now. It messed up my skin so badly. The acne that it gave me was just so terrible. One of the worst acne experiences of my life! And I didn’t think it was this product that did it to me. It has so many good benefits, but it’s too good to be true. I wouldn’t recommend this essence to anyone with clog-prone, acnegenic skin. It wrecked my skin. One of the most difficult skin recoveries I’ve had in a long time. This is something to avoid even though it feels very soothing and nice on the skin. I’m over it now. I won’t be repurchasing.
