My Updated Skin Care Routine

It’s time for a skin care update! It’s been quite some time since I’ve posted anything about my skin care routine! Here we go! 🙂

When I wake up in the morning, I use Trader Joe’s Spa Face Wash with Tea Tree Oil. This face wash right here. I’m sure I’ve mentioned it several times before.

This is the best face wash I’ve used in my lifetime. It beats all of the other face washes I’ve used in the past! I highly recommend it if you have oily, acne-prone skin. It removes dirt and oil. It tames oily skin. Love!! By the way, it’s vegan. 😊😍 Even though I like it, I wouldn’t depend on it alone to get rid of acne. It’s good at doing what it’s supposed to do — cleanses without stripping essential oils from the face.

I am not using the Clarisonic Mia Prima Facial Brush any longer. It didn’t work out for me. What did work out for me is using Acne.org BP Treatment Gel! So I’m back to using Acne.org BP Treatment Gel. This right here:

I’ve used this stuff soo many times before. The first time I used it, it worked. I tried it again and again over the years with hits and misses. I decided to give it a go once again to see if it’ll work again. This time, I’m not just spot treating. I’m applying the gel to my whole face but only at night. The gel takes too long to absorb into my facial skin in the morning, and I don’t have time for that. It seems to be working! 😊 Ever since I started using the BP Treatment Gel, I’ve introduced jojoba oil back into my skin care routine.

But, I don’t use jojoba oil everyday. It’s only when my skin becomes dry from the BP. Once the dryness goes away, I stop using it. I can’t use it every day. I ended up with clogged pores. I love the way it makes my skin feel…but not everyone’s skin can tolerate it…

For an eye cream, I use LilyAna Naturals Retinol Cream. I haven’t introduced this skin care product yet. I’ll talk more about it later on. Yes, it’s a vegan skin care product. I’ve been trying my best to purchase only vegan skin care products. At the moment, all of my skin care products ARE VEGAN!

I don’t have a sunblock at the moment. SHAME ON ME!! ha! By the way, I was using Differin Oil-Control Moisturizer with SPF 30. It turns out the Differin sunblock was breaking me out. My skin is prone to acne, and it’s better for me to use less products on my skin (this includes makeup too). You will see later on when I talk about my makeup routine.

So, that’s all I really use on my facial skin. I stopped using a lot of skin care products because they weren’t doing any good to my skin. I try my best to stay out of the sun. I don’t think sunblock was really protecting my skin anyways. My skin has been forming freckles for the past years with sunblock on + staying out of the sun most of the time. No joke, lol. I don’t think that’s an entirely a bad thing, since I’ve recieved tons of compliments on them. In the meantime, I’ll be on the look out for a good sunblock and do my best to stay out of the sun.

That is my skin care routine. Tell me about yours! Next up, my new eye cream and my makeup routine. 😊

Love, Jen

Update: Trader Joe’s Nourish Hyaluronic Moisture Boost Serum

I have officially finished my second bottle of Trader Joe’s Nourish Hyaluronic Moisture Boost Serum! After finishing it, I decided not to purchase it again. It’s not because I don’t like it — I do. It feels lightweight on the skin. It moisturizes my skin. It didn’t break my skin out. From my experience with the serum, the hydration didn’t last too long. It was more of a temporary fix. That is why I decided to add organic jojoba oil into my skin care routine in the first place. Organic jojoba oil only contains one single ingredient, which is Organic Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil. It’s a simple and natural skin care product. Perfect for minimalists! The organic jojoba oil does what the Hyaluronic Moisture Boost Serum does. It moisturizes the skin without clogging my pores, but the hydration lasts much longer. Along with awesome moisture, I have seen other noticeable results!

Organic jojoba oil doesn’t just leave my skin looking and feeling moisturized. It has changed the condition of my skin for the better after adding it into my skin care routine (after using the serum). My skin appears softer and smoother with consistent use. Fine lines and wrinkles are diminished. My eyelashes are thicker and longer. I’m very happy with the results!! Lucky enough, organic jojoba oil is less expensive for the amount of product compared to the Hyaluronic Acid Moisture Boost Serum. The serum lasted 1 month for me when used twice a day. The first jojoba oil (from Trader Joe’s) I used lasted about 2 months. I didn’t use it only for my facial skin though. I also used it as a body oil and hair treatment too. Without using it as a body oil or hair treatment, it could easily last over 2+ months! I love organic jojoba oil and would highly recommend it to anyone that’s looking for a natural moisturizer for the skin! 😊
