Trader Joe's Blueberry & Acai Facial Scrub

Trader Joe’s Blueberry & Acai Facial Scrub

I’ve been using Trader Joe’s Blueberry & Acai Facial Scrub for 3 weeks. I’m still madly in love with the smell of this facial scrub. It smells sooo yummy. I could absolutely eat it! ? I always look forward to using this facial scrub because of that. When I started to use this facial scrub, I used it 3 times a week (first week). During the second week, I used it 2 times a week. After the second week, I increased it to 3 times a week. I wanted to see how my skin would respond to 2 times a week vs 3 times a week of use. I realized using it 3 times a week caused my skin to develop acne out of the blue. This is my fourth week using Trader Joe’s Blueberry & Acai Facial Scrub, and I’ve decided that 2 times a week is good enough. 2 times a week gives the skin time to heal between sessions, which is better for the skin in the long run.

Even though I love using this facial scrub, I don’t consider it a facial scrub. It’s more of a facial mask. When I use this facial scrub, I gently rub it into my skin and leave it on for 5-10 minutes. Next, I wash it off. The blueberry seeds and colloidal oatmeal doesn’t do anything to remove dead skin cells. The alpha hydroxy acids in this product are doing the work. As for effectiveness, I can feel a slight tingle when I have the facial scrub on, but I’m not sure if it truly makes a difference in my skin. I enjoy using the facial scrub due to the lovely ingredients and gentleness of the product itself, but I haven’t noticed any changes in my skin. *shrugs* I’m not too impressed with this facial scrub right now. Yes, it’s fun to use. I just want something that delivers results. I want a smoother and brighter complexion after each use. I’ll keep using it until I’m done with it and report back with final results. ? I might have to search for another facial scrub in the meantime, haha.

I have this much left of the facial scrub.

Trader Joe’s Blueberry & Acai Facial Scrub

Here’s my new facial scrub! It’s from Trader Joe’s. It’s called Trader Joe’s Blueberry & Acai Facial Scrub. I am very excited to share my new facial scrub with everyone! This is my first time using it. I’m happy you’re all here to witness it. Let’s get started! ?

Trader Joe’s Blueberry & Acai Facial Scrub, In Box:

This is what Trader Joe’s Blueberry & Acai Facial Scrub looks like in its original box. Silver and purple are the colors. I didn’t find the packaging too aesthetically appealing. The ingredients caught my eye more — Blueberry & Acai. Sounds delish!

Unboxing Trader Joe’s Blueberry & Acai Facial Scrub:

Here’s the Blueberry & Acai Facial Scrub unboxed. The lid is a sleek silver color. It’s easy to twist off and close shut after use. The jar itself is made of glass. The facial scrub looks very intriguing and yummy. It makes me want to eat it. Nomzz!!

Using Trader Joe’s Blueberry & Acai Facial Scrub:

More views of Trader Joe’s Blueberry & Acai Facial Scrub in my bathroom. I always use facial scrubs at night before I go about my night skin care regime. Never in the morning. I don’t want my newly exfoliated skin exposed to the harsh UV rays anyways.

So excited. Ready? Trader Joe’s Blueberry & Acai Facial Scrub.

When I applied the facial scrub to my skin, I can feel the blueberry seeds and colloidal oatmeal on my skin. That’s what it is from the ingredients listed. It may seem like the blueberry seeds and colloidal oatmeal is doing the exfoliation. It’s not. It’s the alpha hydroxy acids in this skin care product. They are citric acid, malic acid, and lactic acid. If you have cuts or scratches (for example, from acne) on your skin, I don’t recommend using this facial scrub until the wounds heal. As for effectiveness, I’m not sure if Trader Joe’s Blueberry & Acai Facial Scrub exfoliates my skin. I haven’t used it long enough to notice. There weren’t any apparent changes in my skin after using it either, but I really do enjoy using it due to the smell of it. It smells SO GOOD! Like a bowl of fruity goodness. Mmm! Also, this facial scrub is very gentle on the skin and didn’t leave my skin dry and flaky. Good, good. The only thing that has bothered me so far with this facial scrub is that it’s packaged in a jar. The ingredients in this product are sensitive to light and oxygen. I have no idea how truly effective it is. We will see. Since I already have the facial scrub, I will continue to use it 3 times a week. I chose 3 because my skin benefits from exfoliation (oily, acne skin). I’ll give it a chance and see how it goes.

I was so happy when I ran into a facial scrub at Trader Joe’s! I’ve been contemplating about adding a facial scrub into my skincare routine for the longest time. Well, this is it! Trader Joe’s Blueberry & Acai Facial Scrub is formulated with blueberries and the acai fruit. Other ingredients included in this facial scrub are colloidial oatmeal, shea butter, and meadowfoam seed oil. This is an alpha hydroxy acid exfoliating facial scrub. At the beginning of the ingredient list, there’s malic acid and lactic acid. With that in mind, I’m going to make sure I wear sunblock diligently (which I have been doing anyways). AHA’s make the skin very sun-sensitive. I’m very excited to start using Trader Joe’s Blueberry & Acai Facial Scrub! It sounds so wonderful and yummm! I’m looking forward to a smoother, brighter, and clearer complexion!
