Review: Wet n Wild Photo Focus Concealer
I think I’m past due for a review on Wet n Wild Photo Focus Concealer! I purchased this concealer when I was looking for an affordable concealer that’ll help hide dark under eye circles and a few blemishes here and there. I found this concealer when I was shopping for new makeup. And Wet n Wild is a very affordable makeup brand. Yeah, I didn’t want to spend that much on makeup, haha. If you missed out, I did a review on Wet n Wild Photo Focus Loose Setting Powder a few weeks ago. Don’t forget to check it out! So this brand claims that the Wet n Wild Photo Focus Concealer will hide blemishes, scars, brightens the skin, and provides lightweight buildable coverage. Sounds like a good concealer to me! But is it? I’ve had this concealer for some time. Maybe at the beginning of this year. I’m not even joking. It seems to last forever. Well, since it’s been this long, I think it’s time for a review on it. I hope this review is helpful! Enjoy! 🙂
My experience
This concealer feels lightweight and very soft on the skin. I’m madly in love with the texture of this concealer. It comes out very smooth. It glides on the skin effortlessly too. The texture of this concealer is very impressive for an affordable concealer. It not only feels soft and smooth on the skin, but it blends into the skin nicely too. Feels very moisturizing on the skin. Works great underneath the eyes due to its moisturizing properties. That’s the good part. Let’s get into the not so good part (ahem, parts) of this concealer. So I have the color Light Ivory. This color is not a light ivory shade. It’s obviously darker and looks orange (see photo below). Even though I love how the texture of the concealer is soft and smooth, the shade is not accurate. Who ever thought this color resembles light ivory?? lol. It doesn’t make any sense! It looks orange! As for coverage, it comes out as medium coverage. Once I apply it onto my skin, it looks like it would give medium coverage, but that medium coverage fades away. The coverage of this concealer is very poor. It’s not long-lasting. It just slips right off. Also, it’s not buildable like it claims. It feels like it could work and give buildable coverage due to the texture of it, but it just doesn’t. The concealer tends to thin out and doesn’t offer much coverage. I’ve tried it on my dark under eye circles, acne scars, and pimples. It doesn’t work. I had to reapply the concealer constantly with little results. Lastly, no brightening effect. I didn’t see any when I was using it. Overall, this concealer was a huge let down. It didn’t work for me. I still have it just because, lol.
Here’s a photo of Wet n Wild Photo Focus Concealer in Light Ivory. It looks like it would give great coverage (and buildable), but it doesn’t when applied to the skin, targeting an area on the face. To me, it just didn’t work. Also, this is obviously orange. Not a light ivory shade, haha.
Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Soft and gentle on the skin
- Texture feels very smooth
- No breakouts from it
- Affordable
- One tube of concealer lasts forever. Even though the packaging is small.
❌ Cons
- Not long-lasting
- Shade looks orange
- Poor coverage
- Not buildable
Conclusion
So Wet n Wild Photo Focus Concealer didn’t live up to its claims. The shade isn’t accurate, offers poor coverage, isn’t buildable, and doesn’t brighten the skin. The only thing it has going on for it is that it’s lightweight and has a soft, smooth texture and consistency to it, but it’s not worth it. The whole point of a concealer is to conceal troublesome areas. This didn’t do it. It’s affordable and all. Sounds all good and dandy, but I’m not repurchasing. I need something that stays in place and isn’t (lol) orange. I don’t recommend this concealer. It’s not good at all. The price is attractive though.

Review: Wet n Wild Photo Focus Loose Setting Powder
It’s time for a makeup review. 😊 I’ve had Wet n Wild Photo Focus Loose Setting Powder for some time. I’ve used it on and off. I recently just started using it again because I wanted something that looks more natural but also helps with oil control. This seems to be the best bet when looking at the ingredients. It’s short and simple. Also, from the times that I did use it, it didn’t irritate my skin or clog my pores. We’ll see if it’s still the same as before. Here are my thoughts on this setting powder this time around…
Product claims
- Silky, weightless
- Set, mattify, absorb oil, bake
- Create a soft-focus effect
- Subtly blur fine lines and imperfections
My experience
This is a soft, silky powder that feels very lightweight on the skin. The shade I have is Translucent. It’s a light beige color, but it vanishes into the skin when blended properly. This powder is truly translucent. It doesn’t provide any coverage or even out the skin tone. I use this powder after I apply my foundation, and it makes my skin look less oily. It’s very good at absorbing oil on the skin and leaves the skin matte. I don’t need to use a lot of product either. Just a little bit and I’m all set. If you have dry skin or dry patches, using this powder is not a good idea. It accentuates dry skin and dry patches of skin. I skip it on my dry skin days, since powder makeup usually make dry skin look worse. It is an absorbent product. It’ll just put more emphasis on those flaky areas.
So this powder does leave the skin looking softer, but I haven’t noticed a blur effect on fine lines or imperfections. I don’t see it after using it so many times. On my skin, anyways. To me, it’s just a lightweight powder that helps to control oil on the skin. And that’s all I really use it for. It’s a really good product for that purpose. This powder does not leave the skin looking cakey at all. I can apply layers of this product, and my skin doesn’t look caked, heavy, or made up. I tried baking with this powder, since the product claims it can be used to bake. That was a mistake but at least I tried. I honestly didn’t like it. It was too drying on my skin and accentuated fine lines and wrinkles. Made my skin look dry and chalky. Uh…no. lol. It didn’t work for me for that purpose. It’s better at controlling the oilies. That’s what I’m going to use it for.
This setting powder comes in a decent size jar (0.70 oz. / 20 g) for only $5.99. It’s very affordable.
Here’s the setting powder on my makeup brush. This powder is pretty dense. I think I went overboard though. Oops.
Here’s a swatch of the powder. It’s a light beige color. But don’t worry, it vanishes into the skin. All you need to do is blend, blend, and blend some more. This powder lives up to its name. You can apply as much powder as you want, and it’ll still be translucent. It’s also non-cakey. I tried applying the product on with many layers, and it still didn’t make my skin look blotchy and heavy. My skin still looked natural and makeup-less. YES! It looks like I’m not wearing any makeup!
Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- It’s truly a translucent powder.
- Lightweight
- No breakouts
- Mattifies the skin, controls oil
- Natural-looking
- Affordable
- Non-cakey
❌ Cons
- Claims to blur fine lines and imperfections, but it doesn’t (on my skin).
Conclusion
This is a really good, inexpensive powder that works to control oil on the skin and leaves the skin looking matte. It leaves my skin looking softer and less oily. It doesn’t look cakey. Looks natural on the skin. It also didn’t break me out either. I didn’t notice new breakouts while wearing it. Overall, I didn’t have any issues with this powder. It would be nice if it blurred fine lines and imperfections, since that’s what it says it would do. lol. If you’re looking for a powder that gives that effect, this is not for you. I’m just a tad disappointed in that. Just a little, ha. But the oil control is something I really like about this powder. It really does tame the oil in my skin. My skin is matte throughout the day, and it doesn’t take a lot of product to achieve that. Other than that, it’s a good product for the price. It’s only $5.99. It’s worth to give it a try if you’re looking for an affordable setting powder. As for me, it’s good but not great or amazing. I most likely won’t purchase it again after I finish what I have.

Review: Wet n Wild Photo Focus Color Corrector (Peach)
About Wet n Wild Photo Focus Color Corrector (Peach):
- Liquid formula is lightweight and blends easily
- Provides perfect coverage for trouble areas
- Covers imperfections and corrects them
- Peach neutralizes dark circles
Review:
This color corrector is lightweight, soft in texture, and it blends very easily into the skin. It adheres to the skin very well. I really do like the texture of this product. Unfortunately, it didn’t work for me. I tried it so many times and stopped using it because it’s so noticeable even after blending. It didn’t do a good job minimizing my dark under eye circles either. My bb cream does a better job covering my under eye circles meanwhile giving me coverage everywhere else. Also, the color corrector was drying and accentuated fine lines. This product didn’t do it for me. I don’t think I need a color corrector to begin with. It’s just another, extra step that isn’t necessary. This isn’t something I would purchase again.
Note: The markings came off of the product bottle. haha.

1 Month Update: Wet n Wild Max Volume Mascara
Here’s my 1 month update on the Wet n Wild Max Volume Mascara! 🙂
As I said before, I haven’t had much luck with Wet ‘n Wild cosmetics. I wish I did because they are so inexpensive. So after a month of using the Wet n Wild Max Volume Mascara, I have to say that I’m impressed with this mascara! As I kept using it, I would say that it’s better than other drugstore mascaras I have used! Even though it has issues like clumping (just a little bit) and an annoyng packaging, those flaws are very minor. I noticed less clumping as I used it more often. This mascara stayed on my lashes wonderfully even during my workouts! Through the sweat, it didn’t run. It stayed on! 🙂 I do have another mascara. It’s the NYX Worth the Hype Mascara. I think I did a review on it before. It’s been so long, lol. I’ll do a new review soon. Between the two mascaras, I tend to gravitate towards the Wet ‘n Wild Max Volume Mascara for everyday use. It’s working for me. =) When I run out of this mascara, I might pick up a new one. It’s pretty awesome that it’s affordable too.

Review:
I used this sponge for a few weeks then I stopped using it. lol. The sponge works. It’s a sponge ??♀️, but I think the cleanup is too much for me. It just takes too much time after each use or a couple of uses. Yeah, I clean my makeup brushes (or sponges) very often. I like to keep my tools clean and sanitary. As for the product itself, as I mentioned earlier, it works. It gives the skin a nice finish. I enjoyed using it when I did. Honestly, all of the sponges I’ve used worked the same. I can’t tell the difference between any of them. This sponge is pretty inexpensive. So if you’re looking for a sponge, this one is a good one to try out. And it’s vegan and cruelty-free! ♥ But, I personally wouldn’t purchase it again. I’m not a fan of makeup sponges. I prefer brushes or my hands when I apply makeup. Just a personal preference. Maybe I’ll try the sponge again some time in the near future.
