The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution

Here’s another The Ordinary skin care product that I have! I feel like I have so many of them, lol. But this time, I’m here to talk about The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution! When I was looking for a good glycolic acid product to clear up my acne, I thought I would give this one a try. Nothing seems to be working. And this glycolic acid product is very affordable for the size too. With so many glowing reviews, I just had to. So this glycolic acid product offers mild exfoliation to improve skin radiance and clarity. Improves skin texture. It contains Tasmanian Pepperberry derivative, ginseng root, and aloe vera for radiance and to soothe the skin. I liked how this glycolic acid product was a mild exfoliating product. Even though I have pretty thick skin, I prefer gentle products. They’re less likely to dry out the skin or make the skin feel uncomfortable. So after using this for several weeks, here are my results!

This toner is golden in color. It looks pretty cool. I tried using it with a cotton pad and also tried gently patting the product into my skin. I prefer using the toner with a cotton pad instead. With the cotton pad, it helps to remove excess debris and oil from the skin. I didn’t find this glycolic acid to be too strong. I’ve used ahas that are higher than 7% before. This was definitely mild, which isn’t a bad thing. But I didn’t see any improvements in my skin using this toner. What I did notice were breakouts. It wasn’t from purging all of the gunk underneath the surface of the skin. But from the product itself. The ingredients in this product didn’t seem to click with my skin. It also made my skin itchy and red. The texture of it is very weird too. It leaves a film, residue behind that sits on top of the skin. It doesn’t feel like it sinks into the skin well. So! I stopped using it immediately. It wasn’t giving me the results I had hoped for. As I mentioned before, the size of the product is good, the price of the product is good, but the formula wasn’t suitable for my skin. I tried using it on my body with similar results. It made my skin feel itchy and red, since I can feel the product sitting on top of my skin. I didn’t enjoy using this product at all. Feels gross, no results.

✅ Pros

❌ Cons

I’m not surprised that this glycolic acid toner didn’t work. Many products from The Ordinary have that awful texture that doesn’t sit right on my skin. Their glycolic acid toner gives off that same weird feeling. It didn’t leave my skin feeling clean or clearer. It just made my skin look worse with no improvements. This may work for others, but it didn’t work for me. It’s no for me. Next!
