The INKEY List Retinol Eye Cream

I’m almost done with this retinol eye cream from The INKEY List. I must say, once I finish the tube, I’m officially done with it. I wish I could say that it has done miracles to my eye area, but I have yet seen anything after months of using it. I opened a new tube of this product in January. It’s the end of May now. This is my third purchase of this product. I think that should be more than enough to see some results. And that’s not what I’m getting. So, it didn’t live up to what it claims to do. I think I’m over it. There are better retinol eye creams out there. This one isn’t for me. I feel like it’s just another useless product in my routine. I’m really just going through the motions using it up.

CeraVe Eye Repair Cream

CeraVe is a very popular skin care brand due to its ingredients (ceramides, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide), and it’s an affordable drugstore brand with those particular ingredients. But I’ve used CeraVe for so many years and was never impressed by any of their products. Does anyone feel the same way? Even before it became super popular, it was just not that great to me. The CeraVe Eye Repair Cream did nothing for my under eyes. It didn’t help moisturize it either. If you’re looking for a good eye cream that moisturizes, this isn’t it. It didn’t help with fine lines and wrinkles. It didn’t help with dark under eye circles either. I feel like I just wasted my money on this eye cream when it works the same as the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. I’m not going to purchase it again. It’s such a below average product with overhyped ratings.

On to CeraVe Moisturizing Cream…

CeraVe Moisturizing Cream

It’s been a drag trying to finish this product up. Some days I take a huge chunk of the product to speed up the process, lol. This moisturizing cream isn’t that moisturizing. It leaves a weird film behind on the skin, and I haven’t noticed an increase in moisture in my skin (body). I always need to follow up with another truly moisturizing product to keep my skin moisturized. This is another overhyped CeraVe skin care product. You got it, I won’t purchase again, lol.

Pure Horse Oil

I’ve been using 100% Pure Horse Oil for the past months. I tried using it on my face and that didn’t work out. It clogged my pores. *sigh* I haven’t found an oil that works on my reactive skin. This one went out real quick. I kept using it to moisturizing my neck and chest. I have to use it for something, right? lol. Well, after several months of using it, no results. I don’t think it has helped with anything or done anything for my skin. I prefer GUERISSON 9 Complex Cream instead, but it’s a cream that’s too heavy and rich for my face. It makes a really nice neck/chest cream though. Sometimes I use it as an eye cream too. Works way better at moisturizing compared to the other eye creams I’ve listed in this post — CeraVe Eye Repair Cream and The INKEY List Retinol Eye Cream. The Horse Oil goes on my not to buy list. I’m over it.

That’s all I can think of right now. I feel like I have WAY MORE skin care products to share. I’m sure I’ll encounter them along the way. hahahaha! 🙃 Thank you for reading! 😊

Unboxing a NEW The INKEY List Retinol Eye Cream! 😊

My order arrived today!! I didn’t think I would keep The INKEY List Retinol Eye Cream in my skin care routine, but I guess I am (for now)! 😁 Why not?!! I’ve been using it for ages now. Well, it feels like ages. It’s like a staple in my routine by now. So I’m officially on my third tube of this eye cream. Hopefully I’ll see results this time. haha. HOPEFULLY!! Along with my order, I received some samples too. They are GLAMGLOW BRIGHTEYES Illuminating Anti-Fatigue Eye Cream and Wishful Honey Balm Jelly Moisturizer. I’ll get to trying them out some time or whenever I remember to, lol. Now back to the retinol eye cream! Let’s unbox it! 🙂

Here’s my new retinol eye cream taken out of the box. It looks the same like it did before. No changes in packaging from what I’ve seen. Just the plain ol’ black and white coloring and design. So about the packaging, it looks worn out for some reason. It feels flimsy and rather cheap. I’ve noticed this about this brand. It’s not the most aesthetically pleasing box and packaging from a brand. But that’s OK. I guess. ha.

This is what the retinol eye cream tube looks like. It’s not a sealed product. Just twist open the cap and use immediately. I wish it was sealed…

Here’s a swatch of the product. It’s a white-yellowish cream. This is my first time dispensing my brand new retinol eye cream. Very, very exciting! Even though I know exactly what to expect! LOL. It’s just oh so fresh and brand new!

Now…inside of the box. It explains the different kinds of eye creams they have. I’ve only used the retinol eye cream and caffeine eye cream. Maybe one day I’ll try the brighten-i eye cream. I’ve seen it, but I haven’t felt the need to try it out yet. I’m a little obsessed with kbeauty eye creams at the moment. They seem to work better, and they’re more affordable long term. They last so much longer too. I like them a lot more. And from the results (which is very little) I’ve achieved with the retinol eye cream and caffeine eye cream, I’m not sure what to think of the brighten-i eye cream. It’s whatever at the moment, lol. Maybe some time in the near future if I feel like it, I’ll pick one up.

It goes on to explain how long to see results too. Um, yeah, after two tubes and going on the third. I’m pretty sure I’m supposed to see results by now. haha. And I only use a tiny pea-size for both eyes. Hmmm! It’s been WAYYYYY OVER 6 weeks. 😮‍💨 Well! Let’s see if the third one is a charm! hehe! ✨ Also, I haven’t had any irritation or sensitivity to this product. Yay? Yes, yay. 🙃 But it is a slow release formula to help avoid irritation. FYI, this retinol eye cream is 3% vitalease stabilized retinol compound. That doesn’t mean 3% retinol. It’s only 0.09% retinol. It’s a low concentration retinol product. That may be the reason why I’m not seeing much results.

BUT! I have hope! 🤞🏻

So I’m looking forward to gorgeous eyes in the next upcoming weeks or months!!! Let’s see what this retinol eye cream can do this time around. 😊 An updated review coming up soon!

Review: The INKEY List Caffeine Eye Cream

I did a review on The INKEY List Retinol Eye Cream just a couple of days ago. If you missed out on it, don’t forget to go check it out! 🙂 Today, let’s chat about another eye cream from The INKEY List! It’s the Caffeine Eye Cream. So this eye cream is a lightweight, hydrating eye cream. It’s supposed to help reduce the appearance of puffy eyes, fine lines, wrinkles, and dryness. It contains caffeine to reduce the look of puffiness. Matrixyl 3000 to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It’s for dry, normal, combination, and oily skin. A cruelty-free eye cream. Now here are my thoughts on this eye cream after finishing it!

My experience

This eye cream is creamy in texture. It’s a true cream. It comes in a 0.5 oz. (15 mL) tube. It’s the same size as the The INKEY List Retinol Eye Cream. Just another eye cream in a tiny packaging. The instructions says to use the eye cream in the AM and PM. After cleansing, apply a small amount onto finger and gently pat the product around the contour of the eye area. Can be combined with other serums and moisturizers. I followed the instructions. The eye cream feels lightweight on the skin. It has a soft and gentle feel to it. Blends into the eye area very well. I haven’t had any issues with application and haven’t had any skin irritations with the eye cream. I also used it twice a day (morning and night) for full benefits. It feels moisturizing on the skin. Not drying at all. Now on to the results…

As for the results, I honestly haven’t noticed a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles. The eye cream didn’t help with eye puffiness either. I think this eye cream is just good at moisturizing the skin. That’s not entirely a bad thing. It’s just that, it is advertised as an eye cream that will help diminish, reduce the look of fine lines, wrinkles, puffiness, and being moisturizing at the same time. Even though I love how it doesn’t settle into the creases of my eyes and doesn’t dry out the skin around my eyes, I still want more out of an eye cream than just plain ol’ moisturizing. I currently have other eye creams that are less expensive and comes in a larger tube that moisturizes my eyes just as well as this eye cream (some even better). So this eye cream hasn’t done much for me.

• No results. Didn’t help with fine lines, wrinkles, eye puffiness, dark under eye circles. Nothing.

Conclusion

So, after this experience, I’m not planning on purchasing this eye cream again. It’s a pretty basic eye cream. Between the Caffeine Eye Cream and Retinol Eye Cream from The INKEY List, I prefer the Retinol Eye Cream a little more even though they both didn’t deliver results. Both of these products aren’t too expensive. I can see why someone would choose to use it considering the ingredients and price for the product.

Review: The INKEY Retinol Eye Cream

Here I have The INKEY Retinol Eye Cream! I’m so close to finishing up my second tube of this eye cream! Thought I would shed some light on this eye cream RIGHT NOW! So this is a lightweight, rich eye cream that contains retinol. It helps to promote skin renewal. Enhances collagen production. Helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. It’s best for the first signs of aging. Formulated for all skin types. Doesn’t contain fragrance and is cruelty-free. Now here’s my experience with this eye cream! Did it work for aging, fine lines, wrinkles? Read on to find out! I’m excited to share my results with everyone! 🙂

My experience

This eye cream is a cream (what it is, lol). It comes in a 0.5 oz. tube (15 mL). It’s a tiny eye cream tube. The instructions says to use it in the PM. Apply a small amount onto finger and gently pat it around the contour of the eye. Follow with a moisturizer. That’s what I did. When applied to the skin, it feels lightweight, soft, and gentle on the skin. The eye cream absorbs into the skin perfectly well without any issues. Just gently pat the product into the skin around the eyes and let it absorb into the skin. This retinol eye cream didn’t irritate my skin at all. It’s not the most moisturizing eye cream, but it doesn’t dry the skin out. The instructions does say to follow with a moisturizer. So this isn’t the only eye cream I use. I have other eye creams that are more moisturizing, and I make sure to moisturize my eye area/face with another moisturizer that provides adequate amount of moisture to my eye area and face. Dry skin around the eyes is a big no-no. It makes the eye area look aged and wrinkly. Make sure to moisturize properly!

As for the results, I can’t tell if the eye cream has done anything for my under eyes. Fine lines? Wrinkles? Dark under eye circles??? I can’t tell at all. It feels like any other eye cream that I have used, except it contains retinol. I like the idea of this product. Retinol is an awesome anti-aging ingredient. It’s supposed to help reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and skin aging, but I’m on the fence with this product. Results? Meh. The price for the eye cream is affordable though. It’s only 10 dollars, and it seems to last forever, since it’s only used at night. I might just keep it around for preventative measures. Maybe that’s what it is, lol. Just for prevention. And I didn’t have a negative experience with this eye cream besides not seeing results. I just can’t tell if it’s doing anything. Maybe it is, maybe it isn’t. Hmmmm! Who knows!

Conclusion

I’ve gone through two tubes of this eye cream (almost done with the second one), and I honestly can’t tell if it has done anything for fine lines, wrinkles, skin aging, dark under eye circles. As I said before, the idea of the eye cream is nice because it contains retinol. And retinol is known to fight against fine lines and wrinkles. So, I really don’t know what to think of this product. Should I keep it in my routine or remove it? I’ll figure it out soon enough. But I’m pretty neutral about it right now.

Review:

I’ve used The INKEY List Niacinamide Serum for months. I only have a little bit of product left, so I’m almost done with it. Does that mean I like it? No, not really. I used this serum consistently every day in the morning and night along with my other skin care products. Weeks ago, I’ve eliminated a lot of products due to my skin becoming congested, and I noticed tons of closed comedones. Just a few days ago, I reintroduced this serum back into my skin care routine to see if it’s compatible with my skin or not. The first day (used it in the morning and night), it went well (no breakouts). I didn’t notice a reduction in oil and redness though. I have very oily skin, by the way. The second day, I noticed an increase in acne. Sore whiteheads all over my chin and jawline, the side of my face. BLACKHEADS!! I hardly ever get blackheads! My skin felt and looked more oily too. The serum is supposed to help with excess oil, but it made my skin oily. Hmmm. This is why it is important to do a patch test first. Or, at least introduce skin care products into a routine slowly. Since I know that The INKEY List Niacinamide Serum doesn’t work for me, it’s going out! This serum sucks. I wouldnt recommend it. Didn’t do anything for my acne but gave me MORE acne!!

3 Month Update: The INKEY Retinol Eye Cream
