Review: Clinique Fresh Daily Booster with Vitamin C 10%

Clinique Fresh Pressed Daily Booster with Vitamin C 10%

I received a sample of Clinique Fresh Pressed Daily Booster with Vitamin C 10% with my purchase! It’s a vitamin c serum that’s pure and fresh to help visibly brighten, even, and retexturize the skin. It’s for dull, uneven skin, fine lines, wrinkles, dark spots, and aging skin. Skin that’s textured. For dry, normal, combination, and oily skin. Doesn’t contain parabens and phthalates. So I finished the whole sample of this product. Here are my thoughts on it!

I ended up not using the product on my face. It contains algae extract. From my experience with this ingredient, it clogs my pores terribly. So, I just used the product on my neck and décolletage. The product comes in vial where you press the top of the vial (rubber part) to dispense the product. The opening of the product (where the product comes out) is sealed when new (yesss!!). On the vial, it says to use the product within 7 days after activation. More about this soon…

So the product is a serum. It feels very gentle and moisturizing on the skin. Compared to other vitamin c serum I have used, it’s a bit stickier and heavier. It’s definitely not lightweight, but it’s not super heavy on the skin. Very hydrating. As for results, I didn’t notice a brightening effect on my skin. Honestly, I can’t tell fully. Maybe I have to use it a little longer to see results. This product has a short use by date (7 days). After 7 days, I had a ton of product left. I still used it, by the way, lol.

Since the formulation of the product isn’t compatible with my skin type, I’m not too ecstatic about this product. This isn’t something I would purchase. The application bottle is weird and wasteful. Too much product comes out when dispensing the product. This is with only pressing the top of the vial once. With my other vitamin c products, I only use a few drops of product for the whole face plus neck/décolletage. It felt forced to use more product than necessary with the Clinique. I’m going to have to pass on this vitamin c. It’s not going to work for me.

✅ Pros

❌ Cons

This vitamin c serum didn’t work for me. I didn’t see results upon the first application. The instructions on this product actually states that you’ll see brighter skin with the first application. Um, no, I didn’t. Even though I didn’t use it on my facial skin. I would’ve noticed brighter skin on my neck and décolletage if there were any. It didn’t look any brighter. But this vitamin c serum is moisturizing, which could help with fine lines and wrinkles. Moisturizing the skin is very important to keep the skin looking soft and fresh. Too bad it’s not for my skin type. It was nice to try out.

Clinique All About Eyes

I finally finished a whole jar of Clinique All About Eyes. It took me 4 months to finish it. Now I can share my thoughts on this product. 🙂 So I haven’t spent this much on an eye cream in ages. There are plenty of options out there that won’t cost a fortune, but I don’t know what came over me to make this purchase. It just happened. This little jar (0.5 oz.) of eye cream from Clinique is $35. I’ve used a fair amount of eye creams (my obsession!) to know if an eye cream is worth it or not. Let’s check out the product claims first.

This product doesn’t list too many claims or benefits. It doesn’t mention fine lines and wrinkles at all like many other eye creams. I guess this is what I got myself into. lol. But I would love it if this eye cream diminishes the appearance of puffy eyes and dark under eye circles. Those are the enemies when it comes to the skin around the eyes. Ahem, fine lines and wrinkles too.

The packaging of this eye cream is really cute even though it comes in a jar. Right of the bat, I’m not a huge fan of the packaging. I find it unsanitary. They should upgrade the packaging of this product to a more sanitary, clean packaging. When using this eye cream, I wash my hands every time I dip my finger into the jar, so I won’t contaminate it. This product is a gel-cream. It’s soft, rich, and silky but feels lightweight on the skin. It has a silicone feel to it. I checked the ingredients list, and it lists cyclopentasiloxane as the first ingredient. That explains the soft, silky smooth texture of the eye cream. And why it should hold eye makeup in place. Honestly, I didn’t think it was that great at holding eye makeup. I noticed that my eye makeup or eyeliner would bleed and get really messy with this eye cream. So it didn’t work for me for that purpose.

The eye cream glides on the skin easily without tugging the skin. It soothes and cools the under eyes while leaving the eyes moisturized, but I couldn’t tell if it helped with puffy eyes or dark under eye circles. That’s what this product claims to do in the first place. I think getting enough sleep and reducing stress helps to diminish puffiness more than this eye cream ever will. The same applies to under eye circles. So, it didn’t help reduce puffiness or dark under eye circles in my skin after 4 months of daily use, twice a day. I used it religiously too. But it makes a really good silky moisturizer for the eyes. My eye area feels less dry and moisturized. And every time I use this eye cream, it feels luxurious. Maybe it’s because it’s worth $35. Fortunately, a little goes a long way. It is possible to stretch this eye cream to 5-6 months if you’re not too heavy-handed as I was. Overall, I don’t think this eye cream is right for me. It’s not addressing my concerns.

Check out my empty jar. Is it just me but it feels good to finish a product? That means it didn’t go to waste.

Clinique All About Eyes

✅ Pros

❌ Cons

This is just another expensive moisturizing eye cream. There are plenty of other options on the market that gives the same effect without the huge price tag. This eye cream didn’t work on my puffy eyes and dark under eye circles either. If you’re looking for an eye makeup primer, you can go to your local drugstore and pick one up for under $10 or $15, which will save you money and will probably work better. Since this eye cream didn’t do much for me in terms of anti-aging. I won’t purchase it again. I didn’t think it was a bad product. It’s just not worth $35 for the results I have seen. There are better eye creams out there that cost less than half the price of this product.

Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer

I was really excited for this foundation, since it’s a foundation and concealer in one. I love foundations that give full coverage even when my skin is clear. Love the flawless look! Since I had issues with other Clinique liquid foundations (Clinique Even Better Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15 and Clinique Acne Solutions Liquid Makeup), I did a patch test with this one. By the end of the day, the section where I applied this foundation, I developed clogged pores. *They claim this foundation won’t clog pores* ? AFTER ONE DAY. I’m glad I didn’t use it on my whole face. That would’ve been more devastating. The shade of this foundation is pretty good though. Too bad it didn’t work on my skin. Oh well. Another Clinique foundation down, not sure if I’m going to try out another one any time soon. It’s been quite disappointing.

Clinique Acne Solutions Liquid Makeup

It’s time to do a review on Clinique Acne Solutions Liquid Makeup! So this foundation contains salicylic acid (0.5%), but it did absolutely nothing for my acne. FYI, this foundation contains denatured alcohol. I honestly think that’s where the oil control comes from. Not the salicylic acid. I have a lower strength BHA that doesn’t help with oil control either. It’s too low to do anything. The shade of this foundation was too dark on my skin. Once again, the color I have is fresh alabaster. It’s one of the fair shades. Way. Too Dark. If you have pale skin, this isn’t it. I can see a clear distinction between my face and neck. I tried this foundation with and without a base. It worked better with a base. The foundation was thin. Maybe I’m not used to traditional liquid foundations? I switched over to bb creams many moons ago. Bb creams just feel much better on my skin. It clings onto my skin better. Coverage is moderate. It’s buildable. But it starts looking cakey and unnatural when a few more layers is applied. Did it break me out? I did notice some acne using this foundation. They were those annoying closed comedones (not cystic acne). I stopped using this foundation and went back to my bb creams. So, I didn’t like Clinique Acne Solutions Liquid Makeup. I was expecting it to be better for my skin. Something that feels lightweight, with good coverage, and helps with acne (all in one). It didn’t meet my expectations. I wouldn’t recommend this foundation. I think there are better options out there.

P.S. I finished Dr Jart+ Silver Label Rejuvenating BB Cream and tossed it out. I decided not to purchase it again. I’ll do review on this bb cream plus others next time.

Clinique Even Better Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15

Here’s my review on Clinique Even Better Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15! First and foremost, the shade of this foundation works on my skin. I love that, but this foundation didn’t work for me in the end. IT BROKE ME OUT BADLY! I developed cystic acne because of it. Looking at the ingredients list, it contains seed butter. Hmmm, yeah, I should’ve known that it wouldn’t work. Did Clinique change the formula of this foundation? It didn’t break me out in the past. The finish of this foundation is more dewy too (from what I remember), which makes my skin more oily. I tried applying makeup powder over it. It worked for the first few days, but the shine just broke through. The concept of this foundation is great. I just can’t use something that gives me acne. Clinique Acne Solutions Liquid Makeup, on the other hand, hasn’t broken me out. The only problem I have so far with it is that it is darker on my complexion. I’ll take that any day over having cystic acne.
