1 Month + 2 Weeks Experience!
My Experience with Taz 🙂
I’m officially back to using taz!! I started off the first week using taz twice a week. The next week (which is this week), I tried using it every single day. I skipped a day. I’ve used taz for a total of 8 times already. For the first 2 days this week using taz, I noticed more breakouts popping up in my breakout-prone areas. These pimples were not tiny. They were large deep under the skin pimples that could not be popped! I couldn’t do anything about them but leave them alone until they were ready to POP! They popped on their own too. D*mn! They were painful! And they all left an acne mark behind. Ugh! After this week, I’m left with acne marks and smoother skin. Yesssss, smoother skin. My skin actually does look clearer. I’m guessing this is the purging process I’m going through. My skin does look considerably better than before. It looks less bumpy and less textured. It sucks that I’m left with acne marks, but they’ll eventually go away as the months go by. I hope. I’m going to stick it out, hold on, and hope all gets better. And, by the way, there was a slight burning sensation to my skin after 5 days of application (for this week). I’m still going to push it through because it’s not too bad. I didn’t skip a day of taz because of this. The reason why is to incorporate benzoyl peroxide into my routine (not as a spot treatment, as an all-over acne treatment). I used benzoyl peroxide last night and a lot of my pimples decreased in size. It still seems like my skin still needs benzoyl peroxide to be clear. It helps to kill the bacteria and keeps my skin from exploding with more acne. Taz is working, I guess, but I’m getting a feeling a combination of benzoyl peroxide and taz is where it’s at for my skin.
Back to Sunscreens…
As for sunscreen, I know I did an update on sunscreens last week. I mentioned using La Roche-Posay Anthelios Melt-in Milk Face & Body Sunscreen Lotion SPF 100 and Canmake Mermaid Skin Gel UV SPF 50+ PA++++. Well, one part of that changed. I’m still using La-Roche Posay SPF 100. I stopped using Canmake. My skin just didn’t like Canmake. The texture of the sunscreen is soft, smooth, and dries on the skin nicely. But, I noticed my nose clogging up, and it made my skin feel gross by the end of the day. It just didn’t work for me. As for La Roche-Posay SPF 100, this is slowly becoming my main sunscreen. It can feel greasy on the skin sometimes, but I’m not having any breakout issues with it as of late. Hmmm! This one may work out. Honestly, I’m just looking for a sunscreen that doesn’t break me out. Trader Joe’s Daily Facial Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 causes breakouts (the last time I used it). Neutrogena Visibly Even Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 is OK. I noticed some pimples from it last time, but those breakouts could be from something else. I tried it again, and it was decent. Maybe I’ll use what I have left indoors. I don’t really need SPF 100 indoors. I’m trying to use up all of the sunscreens I have too before purchasing more/new ones. La Roche-Posay Anthelios Body & Face Mineral Sunscreen Gentle Lotion SPF 50 looks awful on my skin. Yuck! It’s so thick, too much of a white cast, and dries the crap out of my skin. I can go on and on about the sunscreens I have, but those are a few thoughts that popped up in my mind, lol.
That’s it for this week! My skin care routine is minimal, which makes my life so much easier. Hopefully all goes well next week! See everyone there! 🙂

1 MONTH Results with BP!
Last week, I didn’t use any acne treatments all-over. I paid the price for it. My skin went from dry and crusty to extremely oily. I developed breakouts from it. Once I stopped using taz or tret, my skin started to get better/heal. I’m thinking about quitting those products and just sticking to benzoyl peroxide (pm) and sunscreen (am) for now. I went back to using benzoyl peroxide all-over at the beginning of this week. I spot treated most of the week. On the last day, I started using benzoyl peroxide all-over. I thought I could spot treat most of the week only. I was wrong. I really need to apply benzoyl peroxide all-over for the full effect. When using benzoyl peroxide, I have less breakouts, skin is less oily, and my skin just looks overall better. I noticed improvements in my skin after the first all-over application! My skin didn’t dry out either. It just soaked up the excess oils and killed the bacteria. Yayyyyyyy! I’m still not using a moisturizer. My skin seems to not need it. Also, I’m not using salicylic acid anymore. It’s not working for me. It made my skin worse at the end. It could just be the product I was using too (Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant). It leaves an oily residue behind while absorbing excess sebum all at once. It’s weird. I’m going to try my best to move on from it, haha. Let’s see how this goes, lol. Yeah, I’m pretty sure I’m done with it. 🤔 Pretty sure…
I stopped using CeraVe Hydrating Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 Face Sheer Tint and Trader Joe’s Daily Facial Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 this week too. I tried using La Roche-Posay Anthelios Body & Face Mineral Sunscreen Gentle Lotion SPF 50. I thought it was breaking me out at one point or many points, lol. Go here to check out my previous thoughts on it. I tried using this sunscreen most of the week. It didn’t cause breakouts like I thought it did. It must’ve been the CeraVe sunscreen. Darn it, I’ve been using it for so long and not realizing it was clogging my pores. I’ve officially stopped using it. There goes another sunscreen that doesn’t work. As for La Roche-Posay Anthelios Body & Face Mineral Sunscreen Gentle Lotion SPF 50, it worked OK for the first few applications then my skin became extremely dry. I could see dry patches on my skin. It accentuated so much dry skin that I had to stop using it every day. It’s not going to work if it makes my skin look like shit. I need a more moisturizing sunscreen that doesn’t break me out. I tried using Altruist Sunscreen SPF 50 again, haha! I feel like I’m never going to let this sunscreen go. It worked well the first day. After using it again for the second time, my skin started to feel clogged. It made my skin look super shiny and more oily during the day. Felt sticky on the skin. Whatever, maybe this is the last time. My experience with it lasted for 2 days this time. Good to know that it doesn’t work (again, lol).
After 1 month, my skin is almost clear. I only have a few stubborn areas of my face with pimples. It’s mostly my chin and mouth area. Probably hormonal too. I ended up with at least 3 nodules right for my period. Ugh, they took forever to go away and left dark acne marks behind. I’m not using anything to treat the pigmentation. I just don’t want to use any new product right now and ruin my skin. So, it’s just sunscreen (not sure what works yet 😭😭😭), face wash, and benzoyl peroxide. Oh, and that vitamin c serum which has helped brighten my under eyes. It’s so silky smooth! By the looks of my skin condition, I’m pretty sure the less products I use, the better my skin gets. I just need to find a new sunscreen. Something that’s lightweight, non-greasy, doesn’t clog my pores, and dries quickly into the skin. Looking back at all of the sunscreens I’ve used, the only one that worked for me was Neutrogena Visibly Even Daily Moisturizer with SPF 30. It’s not even a sunscreen product. It’s a moisturizer with SPF. By the way, it’s been discontinued for some time now. I only have one bottle left that hasn’t expired yet. I better get going and use it up real soon before it does.

My Week 3 BP Results!
If you missed out on my updated skin care routine 👈🏻
Some changes have been made, hehe.
Here are my week 3 results!!
I took a break from tazorac and benzoyl peroxide as an all-over skin treatment this week. My skin looked a bit flaky and crusty. If I continued on with these products, my skin would look like crap. I just wasn’t feeling the all-over the face acne treatments like taz and benzoyl peroxide this week. I still used benzoyl peroxide though. Only as a spot treatment. I only targeted my breakout-prone areas. If I see a pimple forming or has formed, I’ll dab a little bit of benzoyl peroxide on that pimple. At the beginning to mid-week, I didn’t use any leave-on actives besides spot treating with benzoyl peroxide. At the end of the week, I noticed pimples that benzoyl peroxide wasn’t able to get at. I started using Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant again. Since I’m not using much (not even a moisturizer), I thought I would give this product a try again, haha. After eliminating so many products including moisturizer, the quality of my skin improved. It looks more natural. The texture of my skin is more refined and healthy-looking. Even with the positives, my skin has been extremely oily. And it’s not from not using a moisturizer. I think it’s my sunscreen. I’m currently using CeraVe Hydrating Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 Face Sheer Tint. I haven’t been using Trader Joe’s Daily Facial Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 much. Maybe once a week or skip it? haha. CeraVe Hydrating Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 Face Sheer Tint makes my skin feel oily/greasy, and it could be causing issues that I didn’t expect. I wish I could go sunscreen-free. No products on the skin is best for my skin. *sigh* But that’s never going to happen.
Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant used to dry my skin out (when used with a moisturizer). The times I used it this week, I didn’t experience skin dryness, redness, peeling, or any other skin irritations. Nothing. My skin took this product pretty well. It helped to decrease sebum on my skin, but it didn’t help much with my acne. Hmmm! I noticed even more pimples, which was not from purging. The bha liquid didn’t do much to unclog stubborn clogged pores. Boooo!! I’m not sure if I’m going to keep using it. Perhaps once or twice a week. It’s not as effective against acne (on my skin anyways) compared to when I first used it. Darn, I have a lot of product left too. 😭 So I went back to using benzoyl peroxide. I might take another week off of taz. We’ll see what happens to my skin next week. Nothing seems to work on my acne anymore besides benzoyl peroxide.
Some things I’m thinking about switching out: my sunscreen and cleanser. Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Cleansing Gel with Hyaluronic Acid Fragrance Free has been OK. I’m thinking about switching over to a face wash that contains benzoyl peroxide since I’m not using anything on my skin/face besides an acne treatment and sunscreen. I’m not liking my current sunscreens either. I need a sunscreen that’s more lightweight and less oily/greasy. The ones I’m using could be causing acne issues. Mostly CeraVe. I use it the most out of the two. My skin doesn’t look good after using it. I always make sure to remove it properly too. I think it could be the fact that sunscreens feel super occlusive on the skin, which could lead to breakouts. I have annoying skin. What to do? lol. Nothing ever works for my skin type. 😢
That’s my update for this week! Have a splendid day!

Update: My Skin Care Routine
Not shown in photo: Taz & BP
Here’s my new skin care routine. 🙂
Face Wash: Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Cleansing Gel with Hyaluronic Acid Fragrance Free
I’ve been using this face wash for a little over 2 months now. I love how it foams up and feels soft on the skin as I wash my face. It cleanses the skin nicely. But, I feel like it’s kind of drying my skin out. It cleanses my skin very well, but my skin feels a little dry afterwards. It feels chapped. I don’t feel like switching cleansers right now, but I’ll use what I have left. I might search for another cleanser when I’m done. We’ll see what happens.
Skin Treatments: Taz & BP (Acne) & L’Oreal Revitalift 10% Pure Vitamin C Serum (Brightening)
I’m only using taz and bp (not together, separately) 1-2 times a week. My goal is once per week. I also spot treat with bp when I see any pimples forming. As for the vitamin c serum, I’ve been using it on my cheekbones and lightly tap it under my eyes. I noticed brighter under eyes after doing this so I continued to use it this way. I use it on my neck too. I can’t use it on my face because it clogs my pores. This vitamin c serum has a silicone feel to it, and it makes my skin feel very soft, smooth, and silky. It’s been working great for those areas of my skin. Unfortunately, just not my face.
Sunscreen: CeraVe Hydrating Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 Face Sheer Tint & Trader Joe’s Daily Facial Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40
I have two sunscreens that I’m using right now. It’s the CeraVe Hydrating Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 Face Sheer Tint and Trader Joe’s Daily Facial Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40. I use CeraVe most of the week, but if I feel like it, I use Trader Joe’s. Trader Joe’s sunscreen leaves my skin feeling moisturized and protected at the same time. It works great as a makeup primer too. My skin feels so silky smooth after I use it.
I’m still trying to keep my skin care routine short and minimal. I’m really not into extensive skin care routines anymore. haha. I tried it. It didn’t work for me. I prefer to keep my skin care routine as simple as possible. It seems like my skin starts to break out when I’m layering on too many products. By the way, I stopped using moisturizer on my face. It’s time to call it quits. I’ve been trying to make it work for so long that it’s just not working. I keep getting random breakouts whenever I try to moisturize my skin. I decided to just leave my skin alone. I never used moisturizers years before either. I guess some people just can’t use moisturizers (like me). 🤷🏻♀️
That’s my updated skin care routine! Hope this was helpful. Have an amazing day! 😄

My Thoughts on CeraVe Hydrating Mineral Face Sheer Tint!
Here are my thoughts and experience on CeraVe Hydrating Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 Face Sheer Tint! Did it work this time? Read on to find out!
My Updated Thoughts on CeraVe Hydrating Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 Face Sheer Tint!
Why I chose this product?
I had a tube of this product that I needed to finish. It was just sitting there, and I didn’t want to waste it. So I thought I would give it another try again to see if it’ll work for me or not this time. Also, I was really fed up with my main mineral sunscreen leaving a white cast on my skin (even if it’s subtle, there’s still a noticeable white cast). It gets annoying when people start to stare, lol. I just couldn’t do it anymore. I needed a tinted mineral sunscreen that blends into the skin and hides the white cast. I’ve been guilty of walking around with a slight white cast over the summer. 😂 At least my skin was protected. But, it’s time for a change. And that is, no white cast, haha.
My first time experience with CeraVe Hydrating Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 Sheer Tint was not good. It didn’t go well, and it just didn’t work for me. I didn’t like it at all. I stopped using it immediately when I noticed that it made my skin appear more greasy (felt moisturizing on the skin though!), left my skin looking orange, and provided no coverage. I was used to a little bit of coverage from makeup during that time. Hmmm! Let’s get into what happened to my skin while using this product again! If you missed out on my previous thoughts on this product, go here! 👈🏻
It’s a moisturizing mineral sunscreen.
Most mineral sunscreens I’ve tried are drying. This one is not. It feels very moisturizing on the skin! I love that it contains 3 ceramides. My skin seems to adore ceramides in skin care products. I noticed a huge difference in how hydrated my skin is after use. It also doesn’t just moisturize, but it helps to repair and protect my skin from dryness. I enjoyed reapplying this sunscreen each time because it helps to replenish moisture in my skin throughout the day!
Product Shade & Coverage.
I thought the shade of the product was a little too dark on my skin at first, but it seems to blend and vanish into the skin. It’s a little orangey, but it’s not too noticeable. I started off using this sunscreen as a makeup product and just blending it in to hide the white cast from my main sunscreen. But, that eventually led me to using it as a sunscreen + makeup. The product doesn’t provide any coverage at all. I could still see my freckles (not a bad thing), under eye circles (if there’s any), and a few acne marks (which are fading). I don’t think the shade of this product is too bad because I received compliments on my skin while using it. It makes me look like I’m not wearing any makeup (well, it’s not truly makeup, it’s just tinted) at all while giving my skin a natural glow. It doesn’t look cakey or heavy on the skin. Like, damn! My skin looks pretty good wearing it! My skin is currently clear, and it worked out just fine!
Breakouts? Clogged pores?
I didn’t get any breakouts from this product this time. I wonder what happened the first time. 🤔
Brighter Skin.
I didn’t expect my skin to even out while using this tinted mineral sunscreen, but it did. I noticed a more even complexion with some acne marks fading. This product contains niacinamide. I’m surprised that it worked that well on my skin. Who needs a brightening serum when a sunscreen product does it as well. My skin just keeps getting brighter and brighter. I started noticing the brightening effect after the third day.
Final Thoughts
I’m pretty shocked that this CeraVe product worked on my skin. I have yet found a CeraVe product that delivered results. This one did. Even though it doesn’t provide much coverage, it’s still a good product to use. It’s a tinted mineral sunscreen that blends easily and smoothly into the skin. I don’t have any issues with the application process with this product. I love that it’s SPF 30 too. Wish it was SPF 50! That would be awesome! I didn’t get any breakouts or clogged pores from this product. Another amazing thing that happened! I hope I don’t jinx it and start breaking out! Well, as for now, no breakouts! Also, it helped to brighten my skin. It must be the niacinamide. I’m not a huge fan of niacinamide serums or products, but this one that contains niacinamide worked on my skin while moisturizing my skin. My skin looked brighter. So far, I’m loving this product. I’m running low and need to get another tube soon! It might even become a staple in my routine.
