Which Galactomyces Is Right For You?

Galactomyces Skin Care

I have three galactomyces products in my routine. I thought I would just use them all. It’s better to use them than not use them. I really don’t like wasting skin care products. It has to be used, lol. So I started with Benton Fermentation Essence first to see if it works. Next, Purito Galacto Niacin 97 Power Essence. Lastly, Cosrx Galactomyces 95 Tone Balancing Essence. I thought galactomyces gave me acne when I used it before, but it turns out that I haven’t had any new acne or clogged pores from galactomyces. I’m very happy about the outcome after trying it again. So, I’m using all three in my routine. Am I going to continue to use all three? Probably not. But each galactomyces product is very different from one another. They have differences but also similarities. I’m here to breakdown each product and compare them. The pros and cons of each. This way, you can choose which one works best for you if you’re interested in galactomyces and its benefits!! Let’s start off with the Benton Fermentation Essence! πŸ™‚

Benton Fermentation Essence:

This is the first galactomyces skin care product I reintroduced into my skin care routine. My experience with it was terrible when I used it sometime last year. I developed really bad acne. Lots of blackheads out of the blue. My skin was covered in blemishes after adding this essence into my routine. This time, nope, nothing. I haven’t experienced any breakouts or blackheads at all from this essence. AMAZING!! I’ve always wanted this essence to work due to the ingredients it contains. It has galactomyces ferment filtrate, bifida ferment lysate, ceramide, aloe barbadensis leaf extract, panthenol, sodium hyaluronate, peptide, to name a few. The texture of the essence is what gets me. It’s a liquid, but the texture and consistency of the product is soft, silky, and smooth. It just leaves the skin feeling so soft to touch. It glides over the facial skin so nicely. Feels very lightweight on the skin. It also absorbs into the skin very quick. It leaves the skin feeling pampered and more youthful-looking. This essence is definitely my favorite out of the three. πŸ₯° With all the positives, there are the negatives. The pump applicator is annoying. The pump shoots out straight, so make sure you’re aiming directly into your palm, lol. Also, it only provides lightweight temporary hydration. You’ll have to find another moisturizer to actually keep the skin moisturized.

Purito Galacto Niacin 97 Power Essence:

Here’s another galactomyces essence that is lightweight and absorbs into the skin well. You know, I wasn’t going to start using this essence again, but I didn’t want to waste it. I had a full bottle of the essence, so I thought I would use it anyways. So this essence contains 92% galactomyces ferment filtrate, 5% niacinamide (yay!), bifida ferment lysate, lactobacillus ferment, and other ingredients like arginine and adenosine, which are really good for the skin too. The ingredient list is very short and simple. You know exactly what you’re getting into. As for results, this is the only galactomyces essence that has brightened my skin (most likely from the 5% niacinamide it contains). I noticed a brightening effect in my skin very quick. My overall complexion just looked more glowy and more even toned. Even though I liked the results, I’m not sure if it’s something I want to use long term. I still have time to figure this out because I have one more bottle of this essence left. Ugh! Yeah, I purchased one too many. BUT! I shall update on my progress as I continue to use the product. Overall, it’s nice galactomyces essence that helps to brighten the skin. I didn’t have any acne breakouts from it. All is going well so far!

By the way, this essence helped to decrease the excess sebum in my skin. From experience, this essence would be more suitable for someone with oily skin, but it could work for other skin types too. Sometimes I thought it was a bit drying, but it didn’t bother me too much. It seemed to work for my skin due to the oily nature of it. It’s oily most of the time, haha.

Cosrx Galactomyces 95 Tone Balancing Essence:

This is a pretty simple galactomyces essence. Just like the Purito Galacto Niacin 97 Power Essence. The ingredient list is also pretty short and simple. It contains galactomyces ferment filtrate, niacinamide, sodium hyaluronate, betaine, panthenol, to name a few. So this galactomyces essence feels lightweight on the skin. It sinks into the skin nicely and actually leaves the skin feeling moisturized. Hydration from this essence doesn’t last for long though, but it gives the skin some moisture (in an instant). With this essence, I didn’t feel or visually see improvements in my skin. It contains niacinamide, but I didn’t notice a brightening effect or a more even complexion (when compared to Purito Galacto Niacin 97 Power Essence). That was a huge disappointment. But, good news, no breakouts from this essence! Out of the three, this was my least favorite. I most likely won’t pruchase the Cosrx Galactomyces 95 Tone Balancing Essence again. I think it’s too plain for me, and it didn’t do much for my skin. I already have other moisturizers that I use that does an equal or better job at keeping my skin hydrated.

That’s an update on what I think about the galactomyces skin care products I’m using. I hope this was helpful. If you missed out on my past posts on galactomyces, I’ve provided the links below. Enjoy. ✨

Purito Galacto Niacin 97 Power Essence

After a couple of days of using Benton Fermentation Essence without any issues, I started using Purito Galacto Niacin 97 Power Essence. It’s another galactomyces product. Purito’s product contains 92% galactomyces, 5% niacinamide, bfida ferment lysate, lactobacillus ferment, and other ingredients like allantoin and adenosine. The ingredients in the Purito Galacto Niacin 97 Power Essence is very short and straight to the point. Since Benton Fermentation Essence worked for me, my skin shouldn’t have any problems with Purito’s serum. I’m not looking for another galactomyces product, but I had this one stashed away in the corner. At one point in time, I thought it broke me out because of the galactomyces. I actually stopped using all products that contained galactomyces. Turns out my skin doesn’t have any problems with it. I’m looking at my skin after using products with galactomyces, and it looks like everything is going well. No breakouts. No skin irritation of any kind. 😊 The problem was this right here. Yes, you know it, my vegan years. It truly ruined my health and the health of my skin in the end. Be sure to check out my experience and what went on!

So this serum feels lightweight on the skin and absorbed very quickly. I loved how it just sunk into my skin right away, but it also helped to absorb excess sebum on my face too. It left my skin matte. I’m using a richer, thicker, heavier face cream, and my skin is left oily every time, so it’s awesome that this serum can just reduce the oils on my face instantly. This serum doesn’t feel heavy on the skin or leave the skin feeling sticky. It feels like I’m applying water onto my skin but with added benefits. With this serum, I noticed a brighter complexion the next morning after using it only once! The niacinamide in this product really works! That doesn’t happen very often with my skin with niacinamide. Another product that I found that contains niacinamide and works is SOME BY MI Niacin 30 Days Miracle Brightening Sleeping Mask. It works to brighten the skin and make it glow as well. Just like the Benton Fermentation Essence, I didn’t get breakouts from this serum. It looks like my skin does well with galactomyces ferment filtrate but also bfida ferment lysate and lactobacillus ferment. Seems to work for me this time around! YAYY!! πŸ™ŒπŸ»

But, I’m not sure if I’m going to keep this serum in my routine. I just have a couple of bottles of the serum to knock out. I’ll think about it in the meantime, haha. So far, it’s not too bad. My skin is glowing!!

Some By Mi Yuja Niacin Brightening Sleeping Mask

It’s been about 1 MONTH using SOME BY MI Niacin 30 Days Miracle Brightening Sleeping Mask! Here’s my experience after using it for a month!

So I started off using the sleeping mask a few times a week at night. That’s what a sleeping mask is for. You use it a few times at night. But you can use it more often at night too if you want. Honestly, a sleeping mask from my experience feels just like any other moisturizer. Moisturizers can range from being lightweight, fast-absorbing to rich and creamy. This sleeping mask falls under the lightweight, fast-absorbing, gel-serum category. It’s so lightweight that it doesn’t even feel like a true moisturizer. More like a gel-cream-serum type of product. That works for me because I have oily skin. Heavier skin care products tend to clog my pores and make my skin appear more oily than ever! So if you have dry skin, this may or may not work for you. It feels like it would work better for someone with combination-oily skin. It absorbs the oilies on my face pretty well, but it doesn’t leave my skin feeling too tight due to the natural oiliness of my skin. I always follow-up with another moisturizing moisturizer just in case. This moisturizer isn’t that moisturizing. Technically, I use it as a gel-serum.

This sleeping mask contains beneficial skin care ingredients, such as citrus junos fruit extract (70.5%), niacinamide (5%), panthenol, and jojoba seed oil. Also, it contains peppermint, hippophae rhamnoides fruit extract, arbutin, glutathione, ascorbic acid, and biotin. This sleeping mask contains a lot of ingredients that’ll help to brighten the skin. But did it brighten my skin??? I’m intrigued by the ingredients! It looks SO GOOD!!! 😍

Alright! For the first 3 weeks, I only used it a few times a week (at night). I took it pretty slow. I didn’t know how my skin would react to the sleeping mask. I was afraid that it might break me out. It does contain jojoba seed oil. Jojoba seed oil is a hit or miss on my skin. It may or may not work. In other words, it may or may not break me out. Luckily for me, it didn’t break me out, but there’s another product that I have from SOME BY MI that destroyed my skin. Go here to read about it ~ SOME BY MI Yuja Niacin Brightening Moisture Gel Cream ~ Back to the sleeping mask! When I used the sleeping mask every day (am + pm) for a week, I noticed my overall complexion glowed! It looked brighter and more even-toned. I can’t tell if it helped to fade acne marks. Acne marks can take months to fade. It’s a long process. I’ll have to give it more time to work on acne marks. I’m hoping in the next few weeks that I’ll see some changes in my skin. Let’s just hope! lol. The same applies to dark under eye circles. The ingredients in this product look so good for dark under eye circles. I hope it’ll improve my under eyes too. But, unfortunately, there’s no effect on my freckles. It’s not like I’m trying to fade my freckles. But I just noticed that they haven’t budged, haha. I still have freckles all over my nose and cheeks. Oh well! They’re here to stay! hehe! πŸ™ƒ

With this sleeping mask, I’m just really glad that I didn’t break out from it. I’m so surprised since it’s not oil-free. Cheers to a new moisturizer in my skin care routine! Cheers to a product that contains niacinamide that works on my skin! I’ve yet found a good product that contains niacinamide that WORKS and didn’t irritate my skin! I’ve been looking forward to using this product every day. It just sinks into my skin and doesn’t leave my skin looking shiny. Great for mornings to control the oilies. It’s working so well so far! Stay tuned for my next update. Coming soon! See you all there! πŸ™‚

My Thoughts on SOME BY MI Niacin 30 Days Miracle Brightening Sleeping Mask

Some By Mi Yuja Niacin Brightening Sleeping Mask

I have a new moisturizer or what they call a sleeping mask. Cosrx Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask is also a sleeping mask, but I use it as a daily moisturizer. It works. πŸ™‚

So the purpose of SOME BY MI Niacin 30 Days Miracle Brightening Sleeping Mask is to achieve a radiant, youthful complexion. It contains yuja extract, gluthathione, niacinamide, aquaxyl, fructan, and vitamins to moisturize and revitalize the skin. Good for dry, dull, uneven skin tone or eye bags. A quick-absorbing formula that’s light and refreshing with a relaxing citrus sent for a good night’s sleep.

OoOoOooooo! That sounds pretty awesome!

The sleeping mask comes in a 60 gram jar. It’s a lightweight gel-cream formula. Very easy to use. Feels smooth and soothing on the skin. It really does go on the skin nicely and absorbs quickly into the skin. Doesn’t leave any sticky residue behind. I like the texture of this product a lot more compared to my lotion moisturizers. It’s because I have oily skin. And gel or gel-cream formulas don’t leave my skin looking sticky, greasy, or an oily mess. My skin just drinks up the cream like water. So far, I haven’t noticed any breakouts from the product, but I only use it a few times a week. I don’t think it’ll be something I’ll use more often, since I find it a bit drying. It’s not moisturizing enough for daily use. So I’ll use it in combination with my other moisturizers that I’m using right now. This cream also has a citrus scent to it (as mentioned earlier). I didn’t care for it, lol. At least it doesn’t smell too bad.

Let’s see what’s in this product! It contains citrus junos fruit extract (70.5%), niacinamide (5%), panthenol, and jojoba seed oil. There’s a bunch of extracts like peppermint and hippophae rhamnoides fruit extract. It also contains arbutin, glutathione, ascorbic acid, biotin, and a ton of other good stuff for the skin. The ingredients look pretty nice. As for results, after using it at night (when I use the cream), I noticed softer skin that’s a little brighter in the morning. I saw temporary results the next day, which is pretty cool. I hope with long term use that it helps to get rid of acne marks and hyperpigmentation. That’s what drew me to this product in the first place. I’m still dealing with that annoying stuff. Seems to take forever to go away.

After 2 weeks of using this sleeping mask, I think it’s OK. The only downside to it is that it’s just not the most moisturizing. But I think it’s a good addition to my routine to help improve my skin, especially with acne and acne marks. Alright! I’ll make another update in a few more weeks. I hope that I don’t breakouts from it. Everything is going well so far but who knows what might happen. I’ll see everyone in the next update! 😎

This is what the product looks like. It’s a pretty pastel yellow shade. The box was sealed with a sticker, but the jar itself wasn’t. It doesn’t have seal.
