My Update on Benton Fermentation Essence. Did It Clog My Pores??

Here’s my update on Benton Fermentation Essence! I did a post on my first night experience using this essence right here. 👈🏻 Gogogogo!! So my experience and results with this essence went well the first night of using it. You can read more about it in the link provided. Now on to what happened to my skin tonight. Did the essence work on my skin? Did my skin break out from it like before? What actually happened?? Hmmm! I was really curious about the outcome myself too and terrified at the same time. Gosh, I really don’t want to go through a breakout right now or ever! Definitely not like the one I did last time with this product! So, everyone, wish me luck!

When I was washing my face tonight, I looked at my skin and didn’t notice any new breakouts like what happened before with this essence. I was so happy and shocked! I didn’t see any new blackheads appear. My pores weren’t filled with sebum. Whiteheads?? Nope! Cystic acne? Nope! My skin didn’t look dull, but it didn’t look brighter. Nothing changed much about my skin. I mean, it feels moisturized, but it has been feeling hydrated and moisturized without this essence. I think it’s because I already have some good moisturizing moisturizers in my routine. So I’ve only used the essence twice. I know that’s not enough time to see if something works or not, but I broke out from this essence terribly after using it twice the last time I used it. I think my results this time is very interesting so far! And I’m really happy that I didn’t get any breakouts from it. VERY HAPPY! 🥳

After not getting clogged pores from this essence, it looks like I’m going to keep the essence in my routine and see what happens next. Maybe within a few more days or a week things might take a turn. I might see improvements in my skin (or not 😭). Hopefully everything will be ok and move in the positive direction. I really hope this product works because I really like the ingredients in it and how it makes my skin feel. I enjoy using the product too. It would be amazing if I’m able to use it without getting clogged pores. hehe! All I can do now is just hope. We’ll see how my skin responds to it. So these skin care products haven’t clogged my pores at all. I was even able to finish a bottle of the Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence and iUNIK Black Snail Restore Serum without any issues. It’s pretty amazing how things have changed so much after leaving veganism. My overall complexion just looks so much better and healthier. It’s healing at a faster rate. Breakouts? What breakouts?? I’m just kidding. I still get a few breakouts here and there, but they are easy and simple to treat. It makes me so happy knowing and visually seeing that my skin doesn’t look so dead and dull anymore. It aged backwards! Who would’ve known?? It has life in it again. 😊

My Experience Using Benton Fermentation Essence for the First Time at Night

The essence feels the same to me as before. It’s a runny essence that shoots out from the pump straight. I still think the pump applicator is still annoying, haha. They need to fix that. I have to make sure I aim the pump into the palm of my hand so the product doesn’t get everywhere. I dislike wasting product when it gets everywhere. The essence feels lightweight and moisturizing on my facial skin. It feels very soft, silky, and smooth. It’s a very nice essence to use. The application is very enjoyable for daily use. It simply just hydrates the skin on the spot and sinks into the skin very well. It doesn’t leave any sticky residue behind. Just leaves the skin feeling softer and feeling pampered. It has this silkiness to it that feels so luxurious. I really liked the overall texture and consistency of this essence. It just feels so amazing on the skin. But let’s see what happened the next morning!!

My Results the Next Morning…

The next morning, my skin felt very soft and smooth. I’m not sure if it’s from the essence or my other skin care products. I am using a much heavier, richer, thicker moisturizer/face cream right now. It’s been doing wonders for my skin! I think the Benton Fermentation Essence added a softer touch to my skin. This essence contains galactomyces ferment filtrate and bifida ferment lysate. When I first broke out from it, I thought these ingredients could be the cause of my breakouts, especially the galactomyces. But let’s see if they’re truly the cause of my clogged pores tonight! My skin broke out from this essence after using it twice the last time I used it. Other ingredients in this essence includes ceramide np (love!!!), aloe barbadensis leaf extract, betaine, panthenol, allantoin, sodium hyaluronate, peptide, adenosine, and a bunch of other extracts. The list of ingredients is pretty straight forward and not too lengthy. It doesn’t seem like my skin should have any issues with any of these ingredients, but we’ll have to see. I’m just hoping it’ll all work out in the end. 🤞🏻

Gold Bond Ultimate Crepe Corrector Age Defense. Works in 2 DAYS??!!

I picked up a bottle of Gold Bond Ultimate Crepe Corrector Age Defense. I never would have thought I would be using a Gold Bond product until they came out with some anti-aging, moisturizing skin care products. Like this one! It’s the Crepe Corrector Age Defense!

Let’s learn more about it!

The purpose of this product is to help diminish visible signs of crepey skin. Crepey skin is when the skin is thin, finely wrinkled like crepe paper. Like saggy skin that feels loose. Yeah, that doesn’t sound pleasant, but we’ll all get there some day. We all age. So this product deeply hydrates for 24 hours. Helps to visibly smooth and plump the skin. Visibly firms and tightens the skin. It’s a smoothing concentrate product with omega fatty acids, antioxidants, and botanicals. It even says that 82% had visible improvement in crepey skin in just TWO DAYS!!! 😲

I’m really excited about this product! If it helps with crepey skin, it should help with fine lines and wrinkles too! I’ve used it for 3-4 days already. This is what I think about it…

The cream is thick and rich. It has a smell to it even though it’s free of fragrance and essential oils. I’m not bothered by the smell of the product. When applied to the skin, it feels exactly like how I thought it would — thick, rich, and creamy. It’s not runny. Love that it stays in place, which makes it very easy to use and to spread across the skin. It also doesn’t ball up. Blends into the skin very well. It does leave a lotion type feel behind. Like I know I’m wearing moisturizer or a lotion. But, it’s not too bad. I think I like it much better than CeraVe Moisturizing Cream and Cosrx Advanced Snail 92 All in One Cream. CeraVe tends to roll off the skin sometimes and leaves an annoying residue behind. The Cosrx Snail Cream does the same. It rolls off the skin. The reason why I can only use it at night. I tried using it in the morning, and it just didn’t work with my other skin care products (including SPF).

This Gold Bond product is very moisturizing. It left my skin feeling ultra-soft and smooth. Since I don’t have crepey skin, I can’t vouch for that. But I haven’t noticed it helping with fine lines or wrinkles. It just makes my skin feel super moisturized, which I really like! The difference between Gold Bond, CeraVe Moisturizing Cream, and Cosrx Snail Cream is very apparent. I just like the Gold Bond a lot more! It deeply moisturizes my skin. Sits on my skin well without making my skin itchy. It doesn’t roll off the skin. My skin is tolerating it very well!

So what’s in this cream??

The ingredients in the Gold Bond Ultimate Crepe Corrector Age Defense include hydroxyethyl urea, glycerin, dimethicone, petrolatum, selaginella lepidophylla extract, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, sodium pca, fatty acids and alcohols, other antioxidants (extracts). It even has magnesium ascorbyl phosphate (vitamin c) and whey protein at the bottom of the ingredient list. This is just naming a few ingredients. You can always check the label for the full ingredient list if you’re interested. But the ingredients look pretty good. It contains ingredients to fight against aging and to help keep the moisture barrier happy and healthy. 😄

This moisturizer isn’t something I would use on my facial skin. I feel that it’s too heavy, and it’ll clog my pores quick. I’m not going to take the risk. I like using it on my body, arms and hands. It’s a thick, rich, creamy moisturizer that actually feels nice on the skin. For the price of $8-$10 and the size of the product is 8 oz., it’s not bad at all! It’s a good deal compared to other skin care products like the ones I mentioned (CeraVe Moisturizing Cream and Cosrx Advanced Snail 92 All in One Cream). I’m really liking the Gold Bond Ultimate Crepe Corrector Age Defense Moisturizer! I’ll make an update in a few weeks to see how it’s going! Stay tuned for my next update on this product!

My Experience with Silicone Exfoliators!

After trying a konjac sponge (Purito Jeju Volcanic Scoria Konjac Sponge), I thought I would try a silicone exfoliator instead, since it looks more clean and sanitary for daily use or when I need to exfoliate my skin. The purpose of using a silicone exfoliator is the same as using any other facial exfoliator tool. It helps to clean out the pores, remove dead skin, and leaves the skin soft and smooth. Now here are my thoughts on this silicone exfoliator!

My experience

The pack I purchased contained 5 silicone scrubbies in a variety of colors. Mine came in lavender, mint green, baby blue, yellow, and baby pink. The first one I used was the lavender one (not pictured). These silicone exfoliators are pliable. It feels like plastic. To use this exfoliator, I applied my facial cleanser onto my skin first. Gently rub it in to my skin. Next, I lightly move the silicone exfoliator in circular motions on my face to remove dead skin. Not too much pressure. Just a little bit. I had some dead skin hanging from my face, and I noticed that it removed them pretty well without being harsh. Not bad at all! It helped to remove (some) dead skin cells without being too abrasive. It’s very similar to the konjac sponge, except it doesn’t feel soft and squishy on the skin. What’s great about these silicone exfoliators is that they’re easier to clean and sanitize. They’re also portable. Sounds all good. But, I didn’t like the way it felt on my skin. I think I’d rather much prefer a facial brush or something else that’s softer instead. Since the silicone exfoliator is a piece of plastic, that’s what it feels like when I use it on my skin. I just didn’t like it. So I eventually stopped using the silicone exfoliator. It didn’t do much for my acne anyways. Moving on…

Pros & Cons

• Easy to clean
• Inexpensive
• Gently exfoliates the skin

❌ Cons

• Doesn’t do a thorough job at removing dead skin
• Plastic feels a bit rough on the facial skin

Conclusion

I wasn’t too much of a fan of the silicone exfoliator. I still have a pack of these exfoliators sitting around untouched. Maybe I’ll put them to good use by using it to exfoliate my legs or something, lol. I just didn’t enjoy using it on my facial skin. A soft, gentle facial brush works so much better and removes dead skin cells just as well without feeling like I’m rubbing plastic on my face. I think it’s just a preference. This silicone exfoliator may work for someone else. It’s just not for me.
