Update: Cosrx Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence
I stopped using Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence. The snail essence had so many good reviews that I kept using it. Since I’ve stopped using it, my skin looks better. Perhaps it was too sticky for my skin and clogged my pores over time. I’m over it. I’m back to Cosrx Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence. The ingredients look decent. Here are the ingredients…
Hippophae Rhamnoides Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Panthenol, Ethyl Hexanediol.
My skin does pretty well with hyaluronic acid products. They don’t clog my pores unless there’s an ingredient on the list that is pore clogging. I think this essence looks pretty good. It also comes in a decent size bottle. Very affordable. Should last over 6 months (maybe to a year) like the Snail Essence. I hope it does because I don’t want to purchase a new bottle too soon, lol. With this hyaluronic acid essence, I don’t think it’s the most moisturizing, but it’s better than the other essences I have tried and haven’t caused closed comedones or cysts. Honestly, I just want an essence that doesn’t break me out. And obviously, good for the skin too. This seems to be working so far.
My BHA Journey: Week 4 Results + Product Reviews
Hey everyone! Welcome to my 4 weeks results!
So this week I switched over to Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid. I wanted to try it again. The last time I purchased this product was years ago. Check out this post that I wrote YEARS ago >>> Skin Care Tips for Stubborn Blemishes. The packaging of Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid has changed so much! I have a pretty long history with this product. It was my HG toner (because it’s a liquid) for so long. The reasons why I stopped using it is because BHA didn’t help with my acne much during that time. Benzoyl peroxide was what worked to treat my acne. That doesn’t mean it was a bad product. I liked it. The price increased drastically over time too. I stopped using it. So I’ve used QRxLabs 2% BHA Exfoliating Liquid for 3 weeks already. It’s been good, but the texture of the liquid is off-putting. It’s very soapy. I tried pouring some liquid into my palm and patting it into my skin. It felt like I was applying face wash/soap to my skin. It works better with a cotton ball/pad. But I wanted a liquid that went on my skin cleaner no matter which method. I remembered PC feeling clean on my skin without soaping up. Thought I’d give it another go! Here are my results this week!
The first couple days of using PC, the liquid felt a little oily on the skin, but it dries down. It dried out my skin for the first few days. BUT, I saw results the following morning. I purged again. The pimples popped up out of nowhere in my acne-prone areas. My skin felt more sensitive than usual. Once my skin adjusted to the product, I was able to use it in the morning and at night without my skin becoming irritated or drying out. The product…it looks like it’s working…I hope! Also, this week, I decided to cut out more skin care products. I removed skin care products that contain galactomyces and some vitamin c products. I still had stubborn closed comedones underneath the surface of my skin that weren’t budging even with BHA treatment. Here’s a breakdown of my thoughts on these products.
Benton Fermentation Essence: This essence gives the skin light hydration. Doesn’t feel oily. Didn’t do much for fine lines and wrinkles. Didn’t brighten my skin. Didn’t help with blackheads or acne. I’ve been using it for too long. I’m really suspicious of this product due to the length of time I’ve used it and when the cc’s were at its worst. I really don’t need this in my routine.
Cosrx Galactomyces 95 Tone Balancing Essence: This essence is very moisturizing. Possibly the most moisturizing essence I’ve used! It does feel a bit heavy on my skin. Due to the heavy feel of this essence, I decided to stop using it.
Purito Galacto Niacin 97 Power Essence: An essence that gives the skin lightweight hydration. It soaks into the skin very quickly. Helped to brighten my skin. Since it contains galactomyces, out it goes!
Melano CC Vitamin C Essence: One of the most hyped up vitamin c products. I’ve gone through 2 tubes. I can’t even tell if it did anything for my skin. Love the packaging so much! It comes in a secure tube that protects the contents of the product. Super easy to dispense and to apply to the skin. Great for travel! It doesn’t spill. But, I think I’m done with it. It feels too oily on my skin. Could be causing breakouts that I don’t know of. I think this vitamin c is overhyped. It’s not that special. Well, I didn’t see amazing results anyways.
Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop: It’s lightweight. Absorbs into the skin instantly. I didn’t notice a change in my skin. I lost interest in this product after the 2 week mark. I’m not a huge fan of the packaging either. It comes in a clear bottle.
Garnier Clearly Brighter Dark Spot Corrector: It’s moisturizing, but it feels a bit heavy on my skin. I probably most likely won’t purchase it again. I’m currently using it as an eye cream to use it up, lol.
I’m trying to keep my skin care routine as simple as possible. Too many extra products isn’t going to help. It hasn’t helped for so many months. It’s time to let them go, haha. After removing these products, my skin looks so much better! My other skin care products sink into my skin better too! I mean, have I been ruining my skin with all of these extra skin care products that I don’t need? Hmmm. Can’t wait to see what the 5th week brings! See everyone there! 😀
