Another Update on My Moisturizers. What I’m Using Now.

Tret Break Moisturizers

Here’s an update on what moisturizing skin care products I use on my face. I think the list has gotten longer!! But, oh well. I like my moisturizers. They keep my skin soft, supple, and hydrated. Gets rid of the flakes or at least help them come off easier when I need to exfoliate my skin. Here’s my list of moisturizers that I use, which includes serums and essences too. I hope this is helpful. Enjoy!

⭐ Cosrx Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence

Cosrx Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence is a staple in my routine by now. It doesn’t leave my skin super hydrated, but it’s good at prepping my skin before layering on other skin care products. When my skin is feeling more irritated than usual, I apply this essence first to calm my skin down. I use the Cosrx Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence along with… *read about the next product on the list*

⭐ Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence

Yep! The Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence. The Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence is more moisturizing than the Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence. The last time I talked about this essence, I said that I’m not able to use it every day. That has changed since. I can use the Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence every day now. I’ve been using it every day to add a little bit more moisture to my skin. I actually prefer the Snail over the Hyaluronic Acid. It’s more moisturizing on the skin and helps with skin texture. It’s the perfect moisturizing essence. It leaves the skin feeling hydrated but feels lightweight on the skin at the same time. Funny how things changed so sudden. 😊

⭐ Benton Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel

I’ve been using Benton Aloe Propolis Gel for a while now. From my experience, it’s a lightweight moisturizer that sinks into the skin really quick. Great for oily skin and skin that’s prone to breakouts. It hasn’t clogged my pores. It’s not the most moisturizing moisturizer out there. I don’t rely on it to keep my skin moisturized. That’s why I have other moisturizers in my routine. The only downside to this product (besides it not moisturizing the skin enough) is that it stings the skin sometimes, especially when the moisture barrier is damaged. It’s called a soothing gel, but I don’t recommend using it to soothe the skin when it’s irritated.

⭐ Purito Centella Green Level Buffet Serum

I remember when I started using Purito Centella Green Level Buffet Serum, my moisture barrier was damaged. This serum contains centella asiatica extract and ceramide to reduce irritation in the skin and to keep the skin moisturized. It helps to protect the skin’s natural barrier. My face was so red and irritated that I needed something to calm my skin down. This serum did what it’s supposed to do. It worked to heal my skin. It’s one of my favorite serums that’s lightweight and provides other beneficial skin care ingredients (in addition to what I mentioned earlier) for the skin, such as niacinamide, panthenol, and sodium hyaluronate. It’s not the most moisturizing serum, but it worked very well on my oily skin. I didn’t get any breakouts from it.

⭐ Cosrx Oil-Free Ultra-Moisturizing Lotion (with Birch Sap)

Cosrx Oil-Free Ultra-Moisturizing Lotion (with Birch Sap) is one of my favorite moisturizers. It’s lightweight, moisturizing, and hasn’t clogged my pores. Yup, no breakouts from it! My skin just loves this lotion! The lotion is easy to apply to the skin and sinks into the skin quick. It doesn’t leave any sticky residue behind. This lotion worked very well on my oily, acne-prone skin! Love the smell of the product too! It smells like candy and it has tea tree oil in it. It’s been amazing so far!

iUNIK Propolis Vitamin Synergy Serum

I didn’t think I would have iUNIK Propolis Vitamin Synergy Serum in my routine again, but I’m falling in love with it all over again. It hasn’t brighten my skin, but it leaves my skin feeling hydrated. I just love the way it feels on my skin. I only need one single drop of the product to get that moisturizing effect on my skin! Also… *read about the next product on the list*

iUNIK Black Snail Restore Serum

I’m using iUNIK Black Snail Restore Serum. I didn’t know I had a new bottle of this serum sitting around. I was going to discontinue using it, but I guess I’ll keep using it since I have it. As I keep using it, I’m falling in love with it too. So I use a mixture of the Propolis Vitamin Synergy Serum and Black Snail Restore Serum to create a super duper moisturizing serum. I know, cheesy, but it works like charm for extra hydration! I love it!

Hada Labo Gokujyun Premium Lotion

Here’s another moisturizing product that I REALLY LOVE! It’s Hada Labo Gokujyun Lotion. I’m glad I brought this product back! The difference it has made in my skin under less than a week has been astonishing! The lotion feels sticky when dispensed from the bottle, but it goes on the skin so nicely. It feels lightweight on the skin, leaves my skin feeling really moisturized (love using it!), and I haven’t noticed any breakouts from it. That’s just awesome! This lotion is quickly becoming one of my favorites. I think it’s more moisturizing than Cosrx Oil-Free Ultra-Moisturizing Lotion (with Birch Sap)!

Eucerin Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Face Cream

Here’s a new moisturizer that’s in my skin care routine. It’s Eucerin Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Face Cream. Alright, it’s the most moisturizing moisturizer/face cream in my routine. It’s rich, creamy, and buttery. It’s very different compared to what I’m used to using — lightweight, gel, something that’s better for oily skin, a moisturizer that absorbs quickly into the skin. This moisturizer or face cream did feel a bit heavy on my face when I first used it. That worried me because I was afraid of breaking out from it. It’s just so creamy and super moisturizing. My skin hasn’t experienced this type of moisture in so long. But, fortunately, it’s been good. I can’t say great because I’m still testing it out. So far, I haven’t experienced breakouts and it has helped alleviate dry patches on my face and made my skin look soooo good! I really hope it works out in the end. A new update coming up soon!

That’s all for now, haha. I’ll be sure to update my list of favorite moisturizers! ✨

2 Month Tret Update. Is It Working??!! + Other Products I’m Using :)

2 Months Tret Results

It’s been 2 months on tret. I used it a few days a week at first until my skin acclimated to it. That went by quick, so I started using it every day at night. I haven’t had any issues with using it every day since. My skin isn’t red, peeling, or in pain. No irritation of any kind. It’s so weird. I had issues with it using it every night before. All of a sudden, out of the blue, it’s been such a breeze. It’s like I’m applying water to my skin now. So interesting and odd at the same time! I wonder if it’s working anymore. So that is why I’ve been trying out other skin care products. It looks like tret isn’t helping with some forehead acne and blackheads on my nose. They’ve been really stubborn, and I need to get rid of them ASAP, so they can heal quickly and properly. This is what I tried during the second month of tret.

Benzoyl Peroxide: I would slather BP all over my face if I could, but the side effects are just too much. The fumes get into my eyes and burn. But, BP truly does work to eliminate acne. Some days of the week, I’ll spot treat areas where I notice congestion. That’s about it. *sigh* Those BP days…

Glycolic Acid: I started using glycolic acid again when I was looking for another option to treat my acne (besides BP). I’m using Alpha Skin Care Intensive Renewal Serum (my first impression). Here’s my 1 week review on the product. I did another update on this serum. Go here to read more about it (my 3 week update). Glycolic acid seems to be working this time around too. I’m stunned! It worked before then stopped working. Now, it’s working again. It’s been great for skin texture and the overall quality of my skin. Keeping my skin looking soft, smooth, and refined, but it didn’t do much for my acne. Well, it did at first, but it stopped working on my acne. I’m still deciding if I should keep this serum in my routine. I was really looking for something that’ll unclog my pores, and this serum seems too gentle on my skin to do just that. So, I took a break from it since I didn’t see an improvement in my acne. I might bring it back if I think my skin needs it. I really don’t know yet.

My skin seems to be tolerating almost all of the products I used before. Didn’t work at one point in time, but it’s working now. They are…

iUNIK Black Snail Restore Serum: This serum is very moisturizing. It helps to keep the skin soft and hydrated. Feels sticky at first but feels very nice on the skin. Once it sinks into the skin, it leaves the skin feeling smooth and moisturized. I have a little bit of this product left from using it twice a day. But am I going to keep using it when I’m done with the bottle? I’m not sure. I prefer the iUNIK Propolis Synergy Vitamin Serum a little bit more. I’ll have to think about it. 🤔 The iUNIK Propolis Synergy Vitamin Serum is another serum that’s working for me now too. 🙂 Love it!!

Cosrx Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask: I have a love-hate relationship with this moisturizer. It’s moisturizing. It’s probably the most moisturizing lotion I have used where I don’t get huge cystic acne. But I decided to keep it in my routine and use it only on dry areas of my face. If I have a dry patch, I’ll use this product to moisturize that specific area of my face. I don’t use it all-over anymore. It causes too many problems. Makes my skin all oily, more blackheads, and forehead acne goes nuts. Moisturizing is important for skin health, but too much leads to consequences like breakouts (on my skin). I really like this moisturizer though. It truly does help moisturize my oily skin without leaving my skin feeling heavy and clogged.

Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid: I started using this BHA Liquid again. I went full on, lol, but I had to stop using it because it was drying my skin out. It works to tame the oilies on my facial skin, but I don’t think it did anything for the blackheads on my nose. I was hoping it would do something about that. I like using this BHA Liquid when my skin is oily. I’ll use it once in a while right now until summer arrives. That’s when my skin is even more oily.

Here are some products I’m not too wild about anymore:

Cosrx AHA BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner: This toner hasn’t helped much with acne whatsoever. I was hoping that it did a little bit of something. Doesn’t seem like it’s good at controlling the oil in my skin anymore. What happened? I don’t know. It’s an OK product. I’m not sure if I should keep it in my routine or not. It has a weird texture to it. I’m on the fence about this toner. We’ll see what happens in the near future. lol.

Olay Regenerist Vitamin C Peptide 24 Brightening Facial Cleanser: I’ve been using the Olay Regenerist Facial Cleanser since last year. I started off with the Olay Regenerist Collagen Peptide 24 Cream Cleanser. The Vitamin C Peptide 24 Brightening Facial Cleanser is the exact same as the Collagen Peptide 24 Cream Cleanser in terms of results. I didn’t notice brighter skin using the one with vitamin c. I loved this cleanser months ago when I was using it. That was when I didn’t have a good BHA product in my routine. I know these facial cleansers aren’t advertised as acne cleansers or cleansers with BHA, but it does contain salicylic acid in them. I can feel the salicylic on my skin when I use it. I would keep it around, but I’m using Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid instead. I just thought it would be a better option for me instead of this face wash. Maybe I’ll use it again if Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid doesn’t work out. More reviews on Olay Regenerist facial cleansers:

1 Week Using Olay Regenerist Collagen Peptide 24 Cream Cleanser. Goodbye Acne?

1 Month Using Olay Regenerist Collagen Peptide 24 Cream Cleanser & What I’m Doing Now for My Acne…

The only acne I’m dealing with right now is a few pimples on my forehead. Some blackheads on my nose (so annoying). Sometimes some random pimple that pops out of nowhere. My skin is almost, just almost clear. Texture looks pretty good. It’s looks smoother. I’m not liking that shiny forehead though. It looks so weird and odd, haha. I’ve been trying to keep my skin moisturized by using lightweight facial moisturizers, which don’t provide enough moisture for my skin, but it’s better than nothing. My skin hasn’t broken out from those moisturizers (as of yet!). Right now, it’s all about keeping my moisture barrier healthy and happy. But tret hasn’t been drying. Or doing much for my acne like I hoped. I think I’m going to keep using it and wait it out. In the meantime, just search for something else to combat these stubborn pimples that just won’t go away. After 2 months, I’m pretty much neutral with the results I’m getting from tret. I can’t say much about it helping with fine lines and wrinkles. I think moisturizing my skin has helped a ton more. Well! That’s my 2 month update on tret. Take it or leave it, lol. I’ll see everyone next month!

Tret Break Moisturizers

I just finished a month of tret. I thought I would be able to continue on with treatment. But that’s not the case. My skin is feeling worn out. It feels thinner. There’s a lot of dead skin stuck on my face. My skin is itchy even though I use moisturizers. Yes, more than one moisturizer! These are the best moisturizers I can get without causing breakouts. So, I think it’s time to take a break once again. I’m not sure when I’m going to use tret again. Maybe by the end of the week or next week. Or, I might even use it only 2-3 times a week. I don’t know yet. I’ll have to see how my skin is doing and if it’ll be able to tolerate tret. Right now, my overall skin condition looks pretty good. I have only a few pimples. They wouldn’t budge until I stopped using tret. Perhaps my skin was just over-exfoliated. That’s what it seems like.

This is what I’m doing right now while on my mini break. I’ve eliminated acids. This includes any ahas, bhas, and vitamin c. And you know what’s weird? My blackheads disappeared when I stopped using these products. I wonder if one of these products are causing the blackheads too (along with Cosrx Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask, which I stopped using regularly). I love the Cosrx Rice Mask. It’s still in my skin care routine. I only use it when my skin is really dry or when I wear makeup. It helps to minimize flaky skin due to its awesome moisturizing properties. It’s the closest thing I can get to moisturized skin without breaking out in cystic acne. Using it once in a while doesn’t do any harm. So, back to the blackheads, I don’t have any anymore. Hmmmm!

Here are the products I’m using during this break. It’s mainly moisturizing skin care products to heal and hydrate my skin…

Cosrx Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence:

It’s still a staple in my routine! This essence is such a life saver! Still, not the most moisturizing, but it hasn’t broken my out. Yay! I’m just very happy that I found it. With this essence, I don’t use it on damp skin. I tried it and had issues with it being too hydrating. I ended up with blackheads. Yeah, my skin doesn’t like too much moisture. It makes my skin worse even though I do enjoy the feeling of moisturized skin.

Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence:

Next up, Cosrx Snail Essence has been working for me. Shockingly! I started using it twice a day, and it has improved the quality of my skin. It’s much more moisturizing compared to the Cosex Hydra Power Essence. But since I mix the two essences, it does wonders for my skin. I love them both! But the snail essence is really amazing stuff. I highly recommend it!

iUNIK Propolis Vitamin Synergy Serum:

I didn’t think I was going to use the iUNIK Propolis Vitamin Synergy Serum twice a day, but I had to. My skin was calling out for moisture, so I tried it. WOW, it worked! It left my skin even more moisturizing compared to the Cosrx Hydra Powder Essence and Cosrx Snail Essence. My skin feels so soft and looks brighter! And it hasn’t caused breakouts (yet). I hope it stays this way because this has been a game changer in my routine. I’m seeing results in terms of moisture.

Purito Centella Green Level Buffet Serum:

This is one of my favorite serums so far. It’s not that moisturizing (can feel drying on the skin), but it helps with skin texture and skin smoothness. My skin feels and looks softer when using it. It sinks into the skin nicely. There’s a lot of skin goodies in this product, which I love! Calms my skin when it’s red and hasn’t caused any breakouts. It’s been a little over a month now…

Benton Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel:

I’m not sure how I feel about Benton Aloe Gel. It’s not that moisturizing, can sting if skin is over-exfoliated, and doesn’t do much for the skin. It’s OK, since it doesn’t break me out. I guess I can just continue to use it. See how it goes. Who knows. I might see some changes in the future, lol.

Cosrx Oil-Free Ultra-Moisturizing Lotion (with Birch Sap):

I’ve fallen in love with Cosrx Oil-Free Ultra-Moisturizing Lotion (with Birch Sap). Once I stopped using the Cosrx Rice Mask, the breakouts diminished. So, it looks like Cosrx Birch Sap is working for me. It moisturizes (as much as it can, much better than my other hydrating/moisturizing products), leaves my skin looking smooth, and doesn’t clog my pores. I’m crossing my fingers that it doesn’t break me out because I would be devastated. It’s the only moisturizer that has worked, and I’ve tried a lot of skin care products. I really don’t feel like searching for a new moisturizer, haha!

Hopefully I can get back on tret soon. My acne has improved so much after so many years of trying to clear up my skin. That’s something I’m very happy about. Finally! 🙂 But it hasn’t been a smooth journey. I’m just really happy and excited to see results. And hopefully continue to see results! 😊

iUNIK Propolis Vitamin Synergy Serum

I decided to add iUNIK Propolis Vitamin Synergy Serum (previous review here) once or twice a week in my skin care routine. It seems like when I don’t use too many products at once (but once or twice a week) my skin is pretty forgiving. I don’t get clogged pores or random breakouts from the product unless it’s something my skin really dislikes. So I’ve been using this serum on my body just to use it up, but I thought I would give it another chance (on my facial skin). This serum is concentrated with a bunch of good, beneficial ingredients for the skin. I have a ton of skin care products that didn’t work and thought I would give it a go again to see if it works or not. I didn’t want to waste a good product on my body. Not that I don’t care about the skin on my body. I already have moisturizers for my body like CeraVe Moisturizing Cream and Neutrogena Hydro Boost Body Gel Cream that are less expensive for the amount of product. Even though they’re not my favorites, they’re not too bad. So I’ve used iUNIK Propolis Vitamin Synergy Serum for 2 days, here’s my experience with this serum…

Day 1

So the first time I used this serum it felt lightweight, moisturizing, and I couldn’t feel the stickiness of the serum because of my other moisturizers, lol. It felt like I was just piling on this serum just to get some good moisture in for my skin. The serum feels nice on the skin. I can see why I wanted to try it out in the first place. It contains Propolis Extract, Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruit Extract, Niacinamide (doesn’t every product nowadays??!!), Sodium Hyaluronate (this too!!), Honey Extract, Adenosine, and the list goes on. This serum is filled with so many beneficial ingredients for the skin. I’m really excited. But what do I expect from this product after my previous experience with it?? What it claims to do! I guess, haha! Which is to soothe, nourish, revitalize the skin while reducing redness and calming the skin. Well, it did help soothe and calm my skin when I was gently patting it into my skin. This serum also contains Centella Asiatica. Even though I’m already using a serum with this ingredient (Purito Green Level Buffet Serum). This serum is also supposed to help with dry, damaged, dull skin, and hyperpigmentation. But we’ll see. My previous experience with it wasn’t too great. I believe in second chances though. 😉 The first day went well.

Day 2

This serum felt as soothing and moisturizing as it was the first day. I dispensed about 3-5 drops into my palm. More drops than I usually use. I only used it at night too. I’m not sure how my skin would react if I used it twice in a day, but I’ll just take it slow for now. So I gently pat the serum into my skin and let my skin soak it all up. It left my skin feeling so moisturized. I loved it. I haven’t noticed any breakouts from it yet. None at all. Perhaps this serum is too moisturizing for everyday use but makes a good serum to use just a few times a week. I think I can live with that, since I haven’t seen any signs of clogged pores. My skin looks softer and moisturized the next morning. My complexion looks more even and slightly brighter. Since it’s only been two nights of using this serum, I can’t say much about the other benefits like improvements in damaged and dull skin. No clue about hyperpigmentation yet but I hope it does something for that in a few weeks or months. I have some acne marks to fade. But, so good, so far. I like the way it goes on my skin. And yes, once again, no new acne. 👍🏻

Final thoughts on iUNIK Propolis Vitamin Synergy Serum & experience

Using iUNIK Propolis Vitamin Synergy Serum was a complete success for 2 days, once a day, at night. I have no new breakouts! Just softer, smoother, moisturized, and brighter skin!! I like what I’m seeing and the way my skin looks even if it’s only from using it twice. I’m stunned! I can’t wait to see what my skin will look like with continued use. I’ll keep using this serum a few times a week until I finish the whole bottle. If it works, I may even pick up a brand new bottle. Who knows! I’ll make an update in a few months! See you all there! 🙂

iUNIK Propolis Vitamin Synergy Serum

Here’s another iUNIK skin care product I have. It’s iUNIK Propolis Vitamin Synergy Serum! Don’t forget to check out my review on the iUNIK Propolis Vitamin Eye Cream! So this serum is infused with Propolis Extract (70%), Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruit Extract (12%), and Centella Asiatica. The purpose of this serum is to soothe, nourish, revitalize the skin while reducing redness and calming the skin. From my experience, centella is amazing at reducing redness from acne and all-over skin redness. It’s really good at that. And it works. This serum also helps with dry, damaged, dull skin, and hyperpigmentation. Delivering minerals, vitamins, and amino acids to the skin. In turn, it helps to prevent irritation, acne, breakouts, and wrinkles. It’s ideal for sensitive skin, fragrance-free (yay!), hypoallergenic, and non-comedogenic too. But these are just claims. Let’s see if it works! I’ve had iUNIK Propolis Vitamin Synergy Serum for about 6 months now. Here are my thoughts on this serum!

iUNIK Propolis Vitamin Synergy Serum comes in a 50 mL bottle. It’s golden in color. I thought the color of this serum was quite intriguing. It’s gold, bright, and glowy. So I used it in the morning and at night. Just a few drops of this serum and gently pat it into the skin. It feels a little bit sticky at first, but that feeling eventually disappears when it absorbs into the skin. It feels lightweight. Very hydrating and made my skin appear smoother, dewier, and more glossy. There was a nice sheen to my skin. My skin looked very moisturized and healthy. Even though it is fragrance-free, it has a subtle sweet smell to it. The smell is barely noticeable. Maybe it’s just my nose, haha! The smell vanishes and doesn’t last long, so that’s not something to worry about. And yes, fragrance-free products can have a smell to them. Be it from essential oils or other ingredients in the product. In this case, this serum contains bergamot oil. That must be the sweet smelling scent. You know, I actually really do like the smell of bergamot oil. It smells pretty good. But this could be a problem for people that are sensitive to essential oils or fragrance.

After months of using this serum, I decreased my application to once a day, since the serum became too heavy on my oily skin. It started to feel more sticky and too much for my skin. Perhaps it was the change in weather. And the fact that I do have oily skin. Or it’s just too moisturizing for my skin type. Even with using it once a day, I started noticing little bumps along my jawline and forehead and stopped using it immediately. So I think the breakouts had to do with one of the main ingredients in this product. Ahem, propolis. Propolis is a waxy substance. That explains that strange film it left behind on my skin every time I used it. When this happens, it’s trapping in sebum, dirt, debris into the pores. This is definitely a huge no-no for my skin. Much like beeswax. I can’t use skin care products with beeswax either. As for skin brightening, in the beginning, I noticed a little bit of brightening but not much. I didn’t think this serum was that great at brightening the overall complexion. It didn’t help with hyperpigmentation or acne marks either. It didn’t do much for my skin besides hydrating it. Seems like this serum would work better for someone with dry or normal skin. My oily skin didn’t like it in the long run. I wished it worked because it does have some nice ingredients in it, such as sodium hyaluronate, niacinamide, licorice. Well, that’s too bad it didn’t work out. Oh well, haha. Moving on…

This is what the serum looks like. A drop of serum.

iUNIK Propolis Vitamin Synergy Serum

✅ Pros

❌ Cons

I was really looking forward to the results of this serum. Many claimed it brightened their skin. Helped with wrinkles and so much more. I thought it was only good at hydrating the skin. It didn’t help to brighten my skin tone or help with hyperpigmentation or acne marks. Well, on my skin, nothing changed but the hydration. But, unfortunately, I had to stop using this serum due to it breaking me out and leaving an annoying thin film on my skin that felt waxy. Trapping sebum, dirt, debris into my pores. That’s what it felt like on my skin. It looks like propolis just isn’t for my skin type. This may work for others, but it didn’t work on my skin. It’s best for me to stay away from products that contain this ingredient. The eye cream also contains propolis, but it worked because I only used it on my eyes. I’m happy that I didn’t try it on my face. That would’ve been a disaster.
