1 Month Update on Vanicream Daily Facial Moisturizer for Sensitive Skin

Vanicream Daily Facial Moisturizer

I remember picking this moisturizer up and hoping that it’ll become my main moisturizer. The ingredients look sooo good, the price was also not too bad, and it’s accessible where I live. All points lined up and was perfect. Here’s a quick snapshot of the moisturizer: It’s a rich, lightweight lotion that provides effective moisturization for day or night. It’s formulated with 5 key ceramides and hyaluronic acid to hydrate and retain skin’s moisture. It leaves the skin feeling soft and deeply moisturized while still being lightweight and suitable to wear under makeup. It’s free of dyes, fragrance, masking fragrance, lanolin, parabens, formaldehyde, and other preservatives. It’s non-comedogenic and gluten-free. That sounds like a dream come true moisturizer. So it’s been 1 month using Vanicream Daily Facial Moisturizer for Sensitive Skin. Here are my thoughts and experience with this moisturizer.

Texture & Application

This moisturizer is a lotion. It’s not a cream. The texture of the product is soft and smooth. It’s on the thicker side. The moisturizer glides on the skin smoothly without tugging at the skin. It takes a little bit of time to blend the lotion into the skin, but the moisturizer eventually blends into the skin. It vanishes into the skin nicely. After applying the moisturizer, the finish of the moisturizer is sticky. It doesn’t feel like it fully absorbs into the skin. It sits on top of the skin, which can feel uncomfortable and bothersome. I didn’t like the stickiness of the lotion. It made my skin feel unclean and just plain annoying. As someone with oily skin, I thought the lotion was heavy and thick on the skin. I wish it was more lightweight and absorbed into the skin better. Even when my skin was feeling a little more dry, I still thought the product was heavy and thick on the skin. The product claims to be lightweight, but it’s not. This moisturizer worked pretty well underneath my makeup. My makeup went on better. Much smoother. It just glides across my facial skin much more easily. It made my skin appear softer, smoother, and flawless.

Heals & Protects

This moisturizer is very good at healing and protecting the skin. It contains ceramides, hyaluronic acid, and squalane. I loved the ingredients in this product. The ingredients were the perfect combination for my skin and helped to heal my skin from my acne treatments/chemical exfoliants. It help to strengthen my moisture barrier when it’s damaged or experiencing a burning sensation. Out of all of the moisturizers that I have used to heal my skin, Vanicream Daily Moisturizer for Sensitive Skin was the only one that worked so far (after trying a bunch of moisturizing skin care products!!). My skin didn’t feel dry, red, or irritated after using it. On occasion, if my moisture barrier is damaged, it did burn upon application, but it wasn’t too bad. This product was the least irritating as of yet. It sat uncomfortably on my skin after it settled down. With this moisturizer, my moisture barrier felt healthy after each use. On my skin, it was extremely moisturizing. I was so happy that I had found a moisturizer that improved my skin over time.

Clogs pores??

I didn’t notice clogged pores at first, but I noticed clogged pores after using it for a month. Maybe they were there before and I was in denial, lol. I really wanted this moisturizer to work since it helped to moisturize my skin, not just lightly hydrate it. It did an amazing job at protecting my skin from dryness and irritation. But, unfortunately, the clogged pores became noticeable as time went on. I developed blackheads and tons of sebaceous filaments. Some of the blemishes were not noticeable until I stopped using the moisturizer. My skin started to break out in acne. After the acne appeared, they started to clear up rapidly. My skin became less oily and clogged. Blackheads diminished on my nose. So, this moisturizer ended up clogging my pores in the long run. Shocking? Not so much. I haven’t found a moisturizer that moisturizes my skin in years. And I still haven’t found one that works well on my skin. *sigh* Back to the drawing board…maybe…haha.

Final Thoughts

Another moisturizer down, I guess, lol. I think I’m done searching for a moisturizer for my face right now. It’s getting really annoying using a moisturizer for a month and experiencing negative side effects afterwards thinking that it was working. 😮‍💨 Even though it didn’t work on my face, I’m not going to remove it from my routine. I like the ingredients in this product (ceramides and hyaluronic acid), and it helps to protect and heal my skin. It works very well as a moisturizer at an affordable price. I’m using it as an eye cream and neck/chest cream instead. It works even better than my eye creams that are eye creams. Also, I’m keeping it around to use on my face (yup!) when I’m treating my skin with my acne treatment/chemical exfoliants, which isn’t often. I just can’t use it daily as a facial moisturizer, which is kinda funny since it’s called a ‘Daily Facial Moisturizer’. In my opinion, I don’t think this moisturizer is entirely bad. I mean, I’m still using it. I like the product, but it’s a bummer that it didn’t work on my face as a daily facial moisturizer.

My Results After Using Horse Cream on My Face for a Night!

Comment
GUERISSON 9 Complex Cream

So I used horse cream on my face last night. This cream right here: GUERISSON 9 Complex Cream!! I thought I would give it try and use it on my facial skin instead. When I first used the cream, I thought it was too rich, too thick, too heavy, and way too buttery for my oily, acne-prone skin. But I’ve dealing with dry, flaky skin lately. Even my Eucerin Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Face Cream wasn’t helping with the dryness and flakiness. It made it very difficult to wear foundation. My skin looked worse. Every single little dryness was accentuated. I didn’t like that at all. So after a night of using this horse cream on my face, this is what happened…

In my last post on this horse cream, I mentioned that I’ve been using it as an eye cream and a neck cream only. And it’s been working amazingly for those areas. It leaves my eye area and neck feel oh-so-moisturized throughout the day. The cream has been working very well for me. Even though I like Eucerin Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Face Cream, the horse cream takes it up a notch when it comes to moisture. It really, truly does replenishes the skin with a surge of moisture. My skin feels SO moisturized after adding it into my routine. So that’s one of the reasons why I decided to use it on my face. And of course, I have it, so why not just try it out!

When I was applying the cream to my face, I noticed that it has this silicone-feel to it, which was expected because the cream contains dimethicone, cyclopentasiloxane (twice!), and beeswax. It’s also not an oil-free cream. Obviously. It has horse fat/horse oil in it. Besides horse oil, it contains Bixa Orellana Seed Oil, Jojoba Seed Oil, and Soybean Oil. With these ingredients, I was afraid that it might clog my pores. But, good news, it’s been a fortunate experience after a night of using this cream. I woke up today with skin that’s more hydrated, smoother, and softer in appearance. The difference was pretty big. My moisture barrier feels and looks so healthy! It simply works so much better compared to Eucerin! Why???????!! 😥 I believe it’s the HORSE FAT! This stuff is amazing!

But did it clog my pores??? Dun dun dun…

Not that I know of yet. I didn’t notice any breakouts this morning. Just hydrated, smooth, soft skin that looks really healthy and moisturized. My makeup (foundation) went on better and looked better on my skin. My skin IS glowing! This is just insane how my skin looks so good just by using this cream on my face. None of my other moisturizers could do this. It also softened some fine lines and wrinkles too. WOW, I’m stunned. It’s too good to be true. I’ll make a new update soon on what’s going on. I just hope it doesn’t break me out! I just found something that improves the quality of my skin and actually moisturizes and gets rid of dry, flaky skin!

Stay tuned for my next update! 😃👌🏻

GUERISSON 9 Complex Cream

Trying Horse Cream for the First Time. My Experience!

Comment
GUERISSON 9 Complex Cream

I have another face cream! This time, it has HORSE FAT in it. YUP! HORSE FREAKING FAT (or horse oil)! 🐎 I haven’t used horse cream before. This is my first time. I was a bit weirded out about it at first, butttt…let’s see what it is! So this face cream helps to replenish lost moisture and lock in moisture for an immediate hydrating effect. It is rich in antioxidants and works well on the most delicate skin types. It is free from steroids and preservatives. It helps to reinforce skin’s natural protective layer for prolonged comfort with enhanced suppleness and vibrancy. Oooooo! That sounds really nice. I hope it does what it’s supposed to do. Just like my Eucerin Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Face Cream, I haven’t used it for long, but I’m here to share what I think about it so far! Now let’s unbox my new face cream GUERISSON 9 Complex Cream!

So I’ve never used this brand before. The whole product and brand is rather new to me. I kinda just stumbled upon it and thought I would give it a try. The face cream comes in an orange cylinder-shaped container (photo shown above). The container is securely taped on one side of the container. It was taped on the right side on my container. Also, there’s a QR code on the container where you can check if you have received an authentic product or not. Luckily for me, I received the real thing. Yay! 😃 When you open the container, you’ll find a tag that says CLAIRE’S KOREA, a small clear spatula, a booklet that displays other skin care creams from this brand, and lastly and obviously the cream (jar) itself is inside of the container.

Here’s a photo of what’s inside of this magical cylinder-shaped container. I thought it was pretty interesting that the face cream came like this. It feels so fancy compared to my other face creams that just came in an ordinary box!

GUERISSON 9 Complex Cream

The face cream came sealed like this.

GUERISSON 9 Complex Cream

It was very easy to remove the seal. All I had to do was pop it open and it came right off just like this (shown in photo below). One of the most satisfying moments of my skin care life. 🙃 haha. This is what the face cream looks like. It looks rich, creamy, buttery, and oh-so-smooth. I just wanted to dip my fingers into the jar! BUT! Remember, it came with a small spatula to help with that.

GUERISSON 9 Complex Cream

My Experience

It’s been less than a week of using GUERISSON 9 Complex Cream. First and foremost, I did take a peek at the ingredients before I started using the cream. I have to! I didn’t want unnecessary breakouts. My skin is pretty darn clear right now, and I want to keep it that way. But I’m still on the search for that perfect moisturizer that just nourishes and moisturizes the skin. SO! The first two ingredients in this cream is Purified Water and Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride. It contains Horse Oil/Fat (from Germany), Shea Butter, Niacinamide, Beeswax, and Snail Secretion Filtrate just by taking a glance at the ingredients. It also contains plant extracts, peptides, fragrance, vitamin e, jojoba seed oil, centella asiatica extract, soybean oil, sodium hyaluronate, ceramide 3. It looks like this face cream has a combination of very good, moisturizing, calming ingredients. I did mention it contains fragrance. If you’re allergic to fragrance, take note of that. The face cream does have a notable smell to it. It smells like citrus. Doesn’t smell like horses. That’s in case if you’re wondering. I didn’t have any issues with it.

The face cream felt very soft, smooth, and buttery. That was my first impression of it. Unfortunately, I decided not to use it all-over my facial skin. I think the ingredients in this cream is a bit too heavy for my skin type. I know, I haven’t tried it on my face yet, but I’m just not ready for it yet. Maybe some time in a few months if it ever crosses my mind, haha. So the cream feels thick. It’s much thicker than my other face cream Eucerin Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Face Cream. It’s also much richer. This cream feels like it’s full of nutrients for the skin!

I ended up using it as an eye cream and a chest/neck cream. And if I have dry patches on my face, I would dab a little bit of the product on those areas. But, so far, this cream has been amazing. It left my eye area feeling extremely moisturized, and it glides over my delicate eye area so nicely and smoothly. The application is pretty much effortless due to how buttery it feels. It just blends and absorbs into the skin easily. The same applies for my upper chest and neck area. It just absorbs into the skin and leaves my skin feeling well nourished and moisturized. I honestly think this face cream could replace some of my HG eye creams. It’s a lot more moisturizing. The moisture seems to last much longer on my skin too. My skin just doesn’t feel dry anymore in places I apply the cream. Also, it comes in a 2.5 oz. (70 g) jar. I wish I could use this cream on my face. So far, I’m really liking the outcome of this product. It’s just so moisturizing. It fixed my dry skin issues. My skin feels extra pampered!

Review: Benton PHA Peeling Gel

Benton PHA Peeling Gel

If you missed out on my review on Beauty of Joseon Apricot Blossom Peeling Gel, just go to the link! After I finished my tube of Beauty of Joseon Apricot Blossom Peeling Gel, I decided to try out other peeling gels. Even though I liked the Apricot Blossom Peeling Gel, I was curious what else was out there. I picked up Benton PHA Peeling Gel. This peeling gel is formulated with naturally-derived cellulose to buff away dead skin cells and excess sebum from the skin. It contains PHAs, which is even more gentler compared to AHAs to leave the skin feeling exfoliated, smooth, and bright without irritation. The star ingredients in this product are cellulose, PHA (Lactobionic Acid), Chrysanthemum Morifolium Flower Extract, Ceramide NP, and Sodium Hyaluronate. These ingredients help to replenish moisture and soothe the skin. It’s suitable for sensitive, dry, acne-prone skin types. It’s vegan, cruelty-free, artificial fragrance & color-free, sulfate-free, alcohol-free, mineral oil-free, essential oil-free, and silicone-free. So I’ve been using this peeling gel for a few weeks, here are my thoughts on it! 🙂

This peeling gel is a soft white gel (see photo below). It’s very different compared to what I was using before (Beauty of Joseon Apricot Blossom Peeling Gel). When applied to the skin, it feels very gentle on the skin. Feels lightweight and moisturizing. Not drying at all. It gently sweeps away dead skin cells without being aggressive or harsh. I think gentle is what I would describe my overall experience with this peeling gel. It doesn’t irritate or burn the skin at all. I’ve used this peeling gel when my skin became super sensitive and dry. I had some flakes on my skin to remove. I experienced no irritation from it. The texture of the product is really nice. It soft and squishy. Fun to use. Cellulose rolls across the face, and you can see clumps of it while massaging it into the skin. This peeling gel is just so interesting, lol.

But, there’s one thing I don’t like about this product. When I’m massaging the product on my face, the product falls off of my face and gets everywhere. It doesn’t stick to the skin or at least stay on for the time being. It gets messy. With that in mind, make sure to use the product over the sink, so the product doesn’t get all over the floor.

As for results, it’s not bad for a gentle exfoliant that doesn’t irritate the skin. If your skin can’t handle more aggressive exfoliants, this is a good choice. When my skin needs a break from tough facial scrubs and leave-on chemical exfoliants, I use a peeling gel like this one. The ingredients in this product looks pretty good too. It contains ceramide np, sodium hyaluronate, licorice, lactobionic acid, and allantoin. So far, the results are similar to my previous peeling gel but without the tingling sensation. I think I like this one a little bit more. My skin looks and feels very soft afterwards. 🙂

The peeling gel is perfectly sealed. 😉

Benton PHA Peeling Gel

This is what Benton PHA Peeling Gel looks like. It’s so interesting…

Benton PHA Peeling Gel

✅ Pros

❌ Cons

This is a good and honestly very gentle peeling gel. A great option for sensitive skin. Even though I don’t have sensitive skin, sometimes when I use drying acne treatments, my skin gets more sensitive. I like having gentle products of this one around just in case I need to remove some dead skin cells from my face without being overly aggressive. The only gripe I have about this peeling gel is that the product rolls off of the face and gets everywhere. So I highly recommend using this product over the sink to prevent something like this from happening. Other than that, using this peeling gel was definitely nice experience. Will I purchase again? Yes! I like the soft, gentleness of the product. It’s a good thing to be kind to your skin. 🙂
